A journey across an entire country could easily tire anyone out. Even if the person making the trip ran the complete length without actually getting tired, it still required energy that was easily gained through eating. Jean-Paul didn't eat much more than the average person since he honestly didn't need it with superhuman stamina. But the thing was, he absolutely loved food. Despite moving around all the time without ever stopping and hardly being affected, he just liked the taste of a good meal, simple or otherwise.
Since Jean-Paul had no luggage with him there was no need to go to his room first. Thus, the primary stop on his list was the kitchen. After all, it was near dinner time and he couldn't wait to see what was in store. Yet, Jean-Paul liked to ignore the fact that he wasn't able to cook even the simplest of things. Somehow he always screwed it up and took to eating out more and more, resorting to cereal when alone. Taking a risk today, he'd decided to try his hand at a grilled cheese sandwich. The bread had cheese in the middle and was sitting in a frying pan on top of the stove. A plate sat not far away and Jean-Paul leaned against a counter, more or less letting his thoughts stray.
How long would it even take to cook? Well, it definitely took longer if you forgot to butter the bread or add anything to the pan before throwing in dry bread. What didn't take long was the smell of something foul and burning. Grabbing the first spatula he found, Jean-Paul flipped the sandwich out of the frying pan, the bread slices mere blocks of charred, unrecognizable bits. It wasn't saved in time to stop the spread of a smoky scent but any chance of a fire was prevented. Now he just had nothing to eat.
