Florian bit his lip.
The pain it causes and his crinkling forehead create a perfect expression of pained exasperation.
Deniz pats his back sympathetically, “Don’t take it so hard. Refs make bad calls all the time.”
Florian nods and opens the sports magazine, hand curving supportively over his mouth as he tries to read.
Habits are heard to break. But then words just used to be words; people knew what you meant despite what you said. It didn’t stop casually cursed words hurting the wrong people.
Florian’s aggravation would be silent until his father’s words stop falling from his mouth.
