Corner of the mouth kisses are so beautiful and underused and like, idk, understated because it could so easily be actual open mouth snoggage but it isn't. it's ~elegant~ and hesitant and I LOVE IT. She hesitates in the doorway, just long enough for Max to consider stopping her again and taking her back into his arms, but before he dares, she is gone.
This is such a beautiful heartrending ending. And omg, I kinda want to cry because o god, the hesitation, the heartache, the way he wants to go to her and she wants him SO OBVIOUSLY but neither of them are willing to actually go that far, to acknowledge what's between them and omg, tears down my face ;~;
