A sort of homecoming Date: 9 November, 2026 Location: Chinatown, just off Stockton Street Main Charries: Prue, Chris (Mel, Wyatt, Piper, Leo) Summary: Prue wakes up and finds that not only has half of San Francisco been destroyed by an earthquake, but she's been dead for 25 years. Who are all these people at the Manor, and why in the name of all that is magical has she suddenly come back?
The first conscious thought in Prue's head was the fact that she was going to need to drink less. Or perhaps she was going to need to get a greater strength Advil. As she tried to open her eyes, she let out a moan, as the light was far too bright.
The attempt to sit up was even more ill-timed, as every bone ached. It took a few minutes to finally make sense of where she was. It was a dark alley, a far too quiet alley for her liking. This was no drunken hangover, and the aches all over were all too familiar. "Oh hell, who were we fighting?" Prue had to think hard to try and remember which demon they'd been up against. How else would she be here like this. "Piper! Phoebe?" Her voice was hoarse, as if it hadn't been used in a while.
She coughed, her entire body wracked with aches as she slowly managed to stand. She was used to the quick check to see if all her limbs still worked, and apart from a lingering stiffness that made her feel like she'd been hit by a truck. "Phoebe? Piper?" She called out again for her sisters, but they didn't answer. The rest of the alley looked like a demolition zone, but she couldn't see either around.
Her memory seemed to be foggy, as she couldn't remember just who it was they'd been fighting. As she searched her pockets for her cell phone, she realised it was gone. "Leo!" She made the last minute call, knowing he would come. "LEO!" The call was a little louder now, and she stepped out of the alleyway. The sight before her was like nothing she had ever seen.
A light rain fell and the fog covered the tops of the buildings. But half of the street was in chaos, as the bricks and mortar of what was once shops was now strewn across the street as rubble. Looking up, she saw torn Chinese lanterns fluttering in the soft wind, no longer strung up across the street. She was in Chinatown - the place was so instantly recognisable.
Something didn't feel right, and as her mind tried to catch up with it all, she realised that there must have been an earthquake. "Leo!" she called out again, a little more silently, but he still didn't appear. How long had she been out of it? The damage looked only fresh, and weary, dust streaked locals yammered away in frantic Chinese as they tried to sift through the rubble.
Turning to look up the street, she realised she was on Stockton, but something didn't feel right. The sounds of traffic were almost non-existent, and all she could hear were strange whirring noises and little more than the sounds of sirens.
"LEO WHERE ARE YOU?" Prue was starting to panic a little now. If there had been an earthquake (this didn't look like the work of any demon), then there was every chance something had happened at the manor, and she needed to get home. It was going to take hours to walk at this rate, but if Leo wasn't going to answer her, then no doubt he must be busy. She'd stop at the nearest payphone on the way, and call - it was all she could do as she made her way down the street towards home. If she were lucky, she'd make it home before dark, and hopefully without getting too wet.
