Melinda had seen her mother in a panic before, and she had seen how calm and cool she could be when her brothers had made one of their monumental magical messes. Right now she was seeing another side to her mom, and it surprised her. Never before had she seen Piper so emotional, and so very, very shocked.
It was becoming clearer by the minute that this had to be Aunty Prue. Like everyone else in the room, she was asking 'how' this could happen, but magic was something that often defied explanation. But as always, Piper was already going into crisis mode (as if she wasn't already from the earthquake). Melinda looked on as both her brothers orbed out, one to go visit the elders, and one to collect their father.
When Prue muttered about an aspirin, Melinda put her hand on Prue's shoulder and smiled. "I'll get you some, and how about I make us all some tea?" She looked to her mother, getting the barest of nods before she stood to leave. Prue's question about sons made Melinda chuckle slightly under her breath. She was going to leave her mother to do all the explaining as she headed off to the kitchen.
