Either this demon had no fear, or Chris really was seeing the impossible and talking to his long dead aunt. The fact that he seemed to take that in his stride did not phase him in the least.
"Yeah, well rub it in. Not all of us can heal, you know." He was a little sensitive about that point, and it irritated him. Mel would always help him calm down when he got riled up about it, reminding him of the fact that she couldn't even orb.
"You could be a demon pretending to be her. Little tip for the future - you should probably update your information sources. Prue Halliwell died in 2001. So unless you've been living under a rock..." Chris had to smirk at the witty barb - of course a demon had been living under plenty of rock in the underworld... "I suggest you try and pick someone a little more contemporary. Like aunty Paige, perhaps."
There was something in her attitude that made him want to doubt his belief. If this impostor were a demon, they wouldn't be trying to argue their way out of this. Most demons would have just decided to aim an energy ball at him, and shimmer away.
The fact she was protesting things to the point of sounding utterly stubborn, he began to wonder. Could it really be Prue? Could some strange quirk of fate, or some time portal have brought her back?
"I'm sure if you talked to an Elder, they'd tell you the same thing I am," he said, not sounding so cocky now as he tried to think of what to do.
"You seriously want to walk, in those shoes?" Chris looked down at her thoroughly inappropriate footwear, and then shrugged. "Sure thing, but the police are manning roadblocks on Market and on Columbus. They are worried about looting, so go for it - I'm sure if you give them your social security number, they'll lock you up for using a fake ID."
As much as she was beginning to irritate him, Chris knew he couldn't just walk away from her. She had called, and he had been the one to hear - he had to help her.
"Look, if you really are Prue, then show me your power." He knew that his aunt had apparently had the same powers as he did, and she could use her eyes to move things, not just her hands. His mother had often said just how much of a powerful witch she was, and that apparently her telekinetic ability was even better than Wyatt's. He was keen to see that - anything to take his brother down a notch or two.
