Who: Sookie Sully and open!
Where: Beach
What: Arrival
Warnings: None, will update if needed.

Sookie landed on the beach with a thud and sat up slowly, taking in her surroundings and wondering if it could be real. She scooped up a fistful of sand, clenched it in her fist and watched the sand slip through her fingers. If it was a hologram, it was a very good one. She stood, brushed the sand off of her black cloak and walked over to the water's edge. "It almost looks real enough to go for a swim." She muttered out loud. But it wasn't her island home. And it wasn't her more recent home with the technomages. This was something else. "What kind of trick is this?"

"This island, it's real? Really real, not a trick of some kind?" Sookie's wide grin disappeared for a second, then returned instantly at the thought of her family. "More Sullys? That's awesome. I missed everyone so much!"

Sookie glanced down at the cloak and back to him. "A technomage gave it to me. Not a technomage like my mom, a different kind of technomage. They gave me other things too, and taught me a few things. I was living them for, gosh, I don't know how long. I met them on a space station we went into hiding because of a war. So much happened."

"If it's a trick, it's been fooling all of us since we arrived," he pointed out, "even the Doctor."

Jake's ears flattened against his head as Sookie spoke about technomages and space stations, and worst of all, war. He frowned at that, more than a bit concerned about her. His own experiences of war had not been good, after all. "Are you okay? Were you fighting? Were you injured?"

"The doctor's here too. Do we still have phones? Is there a list of names?" Sookie figured she'd have to read it and see everyone - her family, extended family, even the most causal acquaintances. She wouldn't take anyone for granted.

"I'm okay. I'm not hurt. It was scary, but the station did a good job of protecting the civilians." Sookie had heard stories of other places, entire worlds conquered or destroyed. She'd been lucky. "And then the techno-mages, they saw something in me. They let me hide with them."

Nodding, Jake still gave her a quick look-over to check she was okay. "If we ever meet your technomages, I'll have to thank them," he said, then smiled at her again.

"There are phones, although if you still have your one from before, it seems to work in the same way. Mine does, although there's a load of new ones back at the building everyone's staying in."

Sookie smiled back at him. "I'll have to get a new one. I don't have mine with me." She glanced down at her cloak and a satchel over her shoulder. "I've been carrying new gear lately."

"New stuff, huh? You've got a couple of brothers back at the building that'll want to pour all over anything new and interesting, so consider yourself warned."

He shifted about so that he was kneeling on one knee as he spoke, and his tail curled round to wrap around his ankle. "Have you any more questions? I'll answer what I can, but I haven't been here as long as some of the others. And then I can give you a lift back to the building if you like, or walk round with you?"

Sookie grinned. Nothing new could compare to being back with her family. "That actually sounds really good. Sully siblings back at science."

"I have so many questions! Which of my siblings are here? What about my parents? Other family? What's this place like? Is it all beach or all different? Is there local wildlife? Drinking water? Plant life?" She looked at Banshee with a smile, and then back to her Uncle. "I'd love a ride back to the building." Not even a star ship could compare to Banshee.

Questions, okay. "Let's see. Tommy, Jay and Rhi are here, along with Charlie and Izzy. Your mom and dad aren't here, and neither's, uh, neither's your aunt. But you get me, three times. Which is... new."

His tail had dropped to lie on the sand and his ears were flat against his head as he mentioned Neytiri and his Tommy, but he didn't pause too badly.

"This place is different. It ain't all beach, no, there's a jungle that's got Jay all excited, and the building that we're all staying in is huge and built into a mountain and it overlooks a lagoon that I've been told I have to check out. Tommy's arguing with the electricity on one of the floors. There is wildlife because Banshee has been hunting, the building does have drinking water, and there's all kinds of plants. Newest me told me that there are tears between here and other worlds, as well. Kinda like the doors, I guess."

Banshee was making noises about going hunting, so Jake stood up straight and brushed the sand from his legs. "C'mon, you can get the aerial tour," he said and gestured for Sookie to head over to where Banshee was.

"I'm sorry, Uncle Jake." Sookie made a mental note not to let her uncle be too lonely. Or three uncles. It wasn't fair for any of them to be missing her dad, and it was especially unfair that he was separated from her aunt. "Three of you? You you and I'm guessing Aunt Suni's Jake? And who's the third? Is he Na'vi too?"

Sookie chuckled. At least her brothers were still the same. "The jungle would get his attention. We'll have to try not to let Jay live out there. And we'll have to remind Tommy to be careful or he'll lose his eyebrows again. And I have to see these portals, the animals, the plants, all of it." Excitement was evident in her voice and written all over her face. It was all she could do to keep from clapping when he mentioned the aerial tour and she happily followed him to Banshee. There was nothing better than a new adventure when she had her family with her.

He shook his head as Sookie tried to work out who the different Jakes were. "Aunt Suni's Jake, yeah, although last time I checked, she wasn't here, and then the new me. He's from the battle where I rode Toruk. So he's tawtute and in his chair."

As they walked towards Banshee, Jake couldn't help but smile at Sookie's reaction. She might as well have been bouncing over to the Ikran. "I have no doubt that you'll get to see everything, possibly in the first ten minutes of Tommy and Jay getting a hold of you," he said with a smirk, then rolled his eyes as Banshee clearly got bored with waiting for them to get closer. "Impatient beast," Jake muttered as Banshee started making his way towards them.

Darting forward, he quickly made the bond, and got Banshee to calm down enough for him to climb on. He held out his hand to Sookie at the same time as Banshee ducked down enough to let her climb up to the saddle. "Fly with me, ma Sookie."

"Oh, man." Sookie sighed. That all kind of sucked. "Couples shouldn't get split up like that. And this island could at least give other Uncle Jake an avatar, if it doesn't make him Na'vi."

Sookie smirked. "Which one? Jay, Tommy, or Banshee?" She teased, knowing he meant Banshee. Though she suspected it would apply to brothers equally once she told them all about her experiences in the other universe.

"Oh, I've got an even better way of getting up there." Sookie waved her hand and it appeared as if she was flying. She floated up off the ground and onto Banshee's back with ease. It was actually thanks to an invisible platform, a gift of the mages that she could explain later. For now, it was fun to let the platform simply make it's way back into her satchel and let it be a mystery to Jake. She settled into the saddle and took a tight grip of the handles. "Yes, let's fly!"
