Trying to keep surveillance on the new Nazi hideout was giving him a crick in his neck. Jason muttered, "Screw it," and dropped from the fire escape into the back alley; drawing his guns, he pressed his back against the door, listening. Timmy would probably give him grief over not maintaining the stakeout for longer, but c'mon, they had the equipment moving into the place, and enough deliveries of takeout to fuel all kinds of scientific activities; what more did they need? They let this go much longer, and it wouldn't matter if they didn't catch the big fish, they'd have more dead experiments to deal with.
Everything was quiet behind the door, and being that they hadn't bothered to put a guard on it - the way they had the main entrance - he figured they didn't expect any company coming from here, anyways. Or at least the sort that would be deterred by a heavy metal barred door.
But Jason wasn't just anyone. He pulled the block of C4 from his utility belt, warmed the putty between his gloves, kneading it until it was soft enough to shove around the hinges, deep into the cracks of the doorframe. It was no use shooting at it, fun though it might be; he shoved in the detonators, and prudently backed out of the blast range.
It was a small, controlled explosion, but beautifully effective; the door was torn off its hinges, ripped the latch out, and fell heavily at his feet. "I'm going to huff and puff and blow your house down," Jason muttered, and edged his way around the smoldering doorframe.
He crossed the threshold, and alarms blared. "Yeah, I probably shoulda figured," he reflected, then took cover around a corner and started returning fire at the Nazis who were pouring out of boltholes, spraying bullets at the noise.
