Who: Logan, Colossus, Rogue(+Open to Jubes, other X-People, Gothamites, anyone with a good excuse...)
When: 11/2 [Backdate like whoah]
Where: Gotham
What: Logan heads up the X-Men response to the hurricane by dragging everyone to Gotham.
Rating: Low...probably.
It wasn't the worst Logan had seen - but then, he'd lived through a lot of wars and more disasters. It made it a little easier, with those memories making every decision instinctive, and more, done many times before over the years. When noises were made about coordinating efforts, he informed certain self-proclaimed leaders that he was going to Gotham and any coordination had better amount to staying out of his way. It did make things simpler. He'd commandeered one of the heavy-duty X-Vans, rounded up supplies and whoever wanted to go with him, and hit the road.
He'd braced himself for a lot more bodies than he actually saw, and wasn't that a relief. The boats tossed up on shore like toys, the collapsed buildings, the flooding; that was exactly what he'd expected - build a city on a low-lying island and you had to expect flooding over the course of a century or so - but no less sobering. Gotham was a dank place at the best of times, and the city had been hit hard by the storm.
He hadn't heard about his - no other word for it - loved ones in Gotham. That was going to be the first order of business. And then...well, even he couldn't walk away from this.
Parking in the city was impossible, even when most of the parking lots weren't underwater. It took some hunting to find high ground that wasn't crowded with other relief workers, but he finally pulled into a deserted lot, the tires of the Van chewing through the muck that had kept others away. "Everyone out, we're here."
The cold of the water made his metal bones ache, and he slogged over to the dryer road. "We're checkin' on Jubilee first," he informed his team. He'd find Laura later, or she'd find him. "Then spread out. Help people with what they need. Call if you need a hand. Be back here by nightfall." He couldn't think of anything else that needed to be said. "Go."
Getting over to the city, with the bridges the way they were, was going to be a real pain. But it had to be done. With boots on the ground inside the city limits, he got his bearings, and headed towards Jubilee's neighborhood.
