Where: The Helicarrier over NY Harbor
What: SHIELD gathers together it's team of Avengers to meet and begin getting to know one another
Rating: PG-13 because come one - someone's going to either swear, or get injured here, who are we kidding?
The Helicarrier was berthed in New York Harbor to receive it's guests on this most auspicious occasion. The agents on hand looked sharp, were at their most efficient, and many were as much looking forward to the opportunity to show the so-called 'superheroes' how it was done as they were to get a look at them up close. The more seasoned ones - those who had met the visitors, or seen them in action, wore an air of expectation. Today was the beginning of something big: Director Fury's dream for saving the world when it faced a threat too big to be faced alone.
Whether they believed in that dream or not, everyone on the Helicarrier today was bearing witness to the nascent moment of historical monument when twelve of the most powerful people on earth were brought together to serve as its protectors.
Tours of the ship were given, food and drink were provided, but mostly the Avengers were allowed to get to know one another. SHIELD agents were assigned to keep an eye on things, answering any questions and accompany them if they wanted to look around, as at no time were they allowed to wander off by themselves (for their own safety, of course).
