Gwen had offered to take the dinner run mostly to give Jack a bit of a breather since he had taken the last few nights. Plus to be honest she wanted a good excuse to pop by the yard to see Rhys and drop off dinner at the same time. After a nice visit with Rhys she left the yard and was heading back to Torchwood 3 with bags of Chinese takeout in tow when she spotted a flash of light. "Just to be sure." she decided,"Can always text Andy if its something normal." as she went to follow the light flash.

But when she found the flash she was hit by memories of the night both Tosh and Owen were killed, the night everything seemed to change for the team. As she was hit by the memories Gwen was somehow able to grip the bags of takeout but was able to scream, no idea what but it seemed to work. Mid scream however she was bodyslammed into the alley wall (at least it felt like she was bodyslammed). But whatever triggered her had skipped off, leaving her a mess both inside and out. "Martha's candy stash to the rescue." she gripped the bags and sprinted back to the team HQ.

"Jack? Martha? Dinner's here." Gwen called, hoping someone was around since she looked as pale as a sheet along with bruises from the landing. Plus the red eyes from her tears were a pretty major clue something had happened.

"Think someone can grab some candy too?" she called as an afterthrought.

Thanks to a rather nasty combo of catching yet another cold (non alien, just a random bug from Rhys) and a nasty konk on the head going after a runaway Weevil the night before Gwen had a feeling something was amiss. So she picked up her phone to text favorite souce and good friend Andy Davidson, but he had been tracking the fact people were up and vanishing, some of them being various Weevils. So she sat outside the Hub doors, trading texts with Andy and trying to catch Sarah Jane Smith (another friend of the team) when she heard a fight outside. "Here we go again." actually hoping it was just another loose Weevil again.

Who: Jash (Skrull!martha) and the members of Torchwood
What: The invasion begins in Wales
When: Same day as all the other threads (I fail for putting it up late)
Where: Torchwood Hub, Cardiff, Wales
Why: Because the Skrulls have to show their superiority and... well you'll see.

Susan is with Andy, he's befriended her and from what she's told me he reminds her of her brothers. She does have her bow and arrows and Andy knows she's trained (just in case).

Gwen had taken full use of Jack being gone on a routine crisis and Ianto having left to pick up pizza to finally shed some of her unshed tears, being more determined than usual to just not let anyone see how badly she really was hurting. That was when she found one of Ianto's little ways of reminding her she could cry, a little piece of paper left atop her desk. Since losing Tosh and Owen the three had been leaning on each other but with plenty of backsteps along the way (mostly since they knew of the others secrets from Gwen crying in the restroom to Jack and Ianto heading for the rooftop more than usual).

After a few minutes of being slumped against the wall of the hub as the tears fell Gwen could hear footsteps and called,"Just me Jack!" in case it was simply just Jack,"Going to give Ianto a break and feed Myfawny for him" as she grabbed some of the mice they kept for her.

As Gwen reached for her coffee she made sure Ianto was still asleep on the hub's banged up but still useful sofa. She was one of the few that knew of his late night crying jags in the archives and how close to getting sick tonight's had made him but then she was holding on by the skin of her teeth emotionally. But she had been in contact with both Rhys and Andy via text and knew Jack was trying to reach Martha so hopefully help was on the way. That was when she whispered the one thing that made sense,"I wish you two were here" meaning Tosh and Owen, losing both of them had wrecked the younger woman but add in the Dalek invasion and it was a suprise Gwen was not as bad off as Ianto by now. But the bloodshot eyes were proof of her moments of slipping into the archives to cry as well.

"Not alone, Jack's here and so is Ianto" she whispered to herself. It was helping at the moment.
