WHO: Friar Tuck, Will Scarlet WHEN: Tuesday evening WHERE: Parsonage WHAT: Just more fluff pls WARNINGS: TBA
Tuck had barely slept in days. He had been working intake to make sure they kept details of who was staying with them, cooking food for dozens of people. He served as counsellor for scared families. He fetched blankets and food and more cots when needed. When the power went out briefly, he braved the rain to get the generator going. He helped a young couple with their baby. He hugged and chatted and reassured, and when it was all over, he made further arrangements to make sure everyone was taken care of beyond just sheltering at the church.
By the time the last family left, Tuck was running on steam, even though he had had so much help. And while he wanted to get the place cleaned up and back to working order, Will convinced him to leave it for the next day.
Tuck headed back to the parsonage with Will and Flora, who had served as a great emotional support dog throughout. It was dark in the parsonage, due to the boards on the windows, but Tuck just flicked on the light and decided tomorrow was early enough to deal with that too. He stretched out his back and turned to Will. "Are you hungry?" he said, unable to switch off from being the caretaker just yet. And he was pretty ravenous, so he suspected Will was too. They had both thrown themselves into looking after others, perhaps at their own expense.
