Nikkie had made a promise to herself, fairly early in her pregnancy: she was not going to be one of those woman who started shrieking like banshees when they went into labor. So when a really sharp pain gripped her abdomen, she didn't jump, but it was a close thing.

She levered herself up from the couch and went looking for Joey. "Love?" she called. "We need to go to the hospital. Like. Now." Then a thought struck her. "You don't happen to know where my shoes are, do you?"

	That made Nikkie laugh. "We should just give up and buy the video camera now," she suggested. "Because she is, I'm pretty sure this is the most amazing thing I've ever had a hand in." (Reply to this) (Parent)
