Kat was half nervous and half looking forward to this. Victor's in laws (or former in laws, she wasn't sure how that worked) seemed very important to him, and she figured it was one of those stages to go through in a relationship. Talking to people wasn't always hard, but she also wasn't sure how they would take her. But that was beyond her control, so that she wasn't worried about.

She figured that she should probably ask her mother to do a dinner for Victor, even though she knew Erica had met him already. She filed it away before she knocked on the door. It was cold out, but thankfully she didn't need to wait long because soon the door was opened by a rather pretty lady.

"Hi," Kat smiled and it was returned and the older woman easily let her inside. Kat could figure this was one of the two people Victor had mentioned and in between getting her coat off she'd learned this was Rosalind (or Rose). Once she had her coat off she'd asked Rose if Victor was still being the worst patient ever, which had earned a laugh from Rose.

	Victor laughed and then he stood carefully, hobbling into his bedroom to change. Aislinn grinned at Kat and she chose the moment Victor was out of earshot to say, "I like you. And you make his eyes go twinkly." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Aislinn moved to give Kat a little hug because she was never one to know how and when to show affection. She usually just heaped it on the people she liked because it seemed like a nice thing to do. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Kat was a little surprised at the hug, but she easily returned it. After a moment Rose gently distangled her girlfriend and smiled to the younger girl. She set out some pie then and put it on a few plates. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Aislinn let herself be disentangled and she laughed before helping with the pie.

Victor eventually made his way back into the dining room in clean jeans. It took him longer than normal to dress these days as it had to be done gingerly. He had his wallet in his hands and he gave it to Kat. "Here you go. Not sure exactly how much the consoles cost so I hope there will be enough in there." There was actually well over enough, he just had now way to know that.

	"Aw sweet, so now I totally don't need you anymore. I'm going to go buy a horse now." She rose from the counter as if she was serious, but her smile gave her away. She just took out the money necessary for the consoles and handed the wallet with the rest back. Rose just chuckled and handed a slice of pie to Victor. "To be fair, you had that one coming." 	Victor laughed and he pocketed the wallet. "Yeah, I was really worried there for a moment." He carried the pie back to the table and sat down again. He wondered if Rose and Aislinn planned to drill Kat at all, or if they had already decided she was great. In his mind, it was impossible not to decide she was great right away. 	"You don't know. I could have staged an elaborate set up just to get to your wallet. I could be the best con artist." With her family line, it wasn't even too much of a lie. But she grinned and went to sit down again. Rose liked the younger girl. With how Victor was beaming drilling Kat seemed unnecessary. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"You would be a pretty brave con-artist to choose a cop as your mark," he said with a wide grin. He took a bite of pie and then his smile faded as he chewed.

It wasn't what Kat had said, but what he had said that brought back the memories of being locked in that room for days. It hadn't mattered that he was a cop then. His training had done him no good at all.

Victor grew pale and he put his fork down to place a hand over his mouth. Even as he willed himself to calm down, he just knew he was going to vomit and if he didn't get to his bathroom quickly, he was going to do it in front of three wonderful people who probably didn't need to see it.

He rose and left the room without excusing himself, something Victor never really did. He closed the door of the bathroom behind him and managed to hover over the toilet before his stomach emptied itself into the bowl.

She winced when Victor left, figuring something had sparked. "Fuck." Then she winced because so far she'd kept her mouth in check. "sorry." She toyed with her napkin and Rose patted her on the shoulder. "It's not your fault, and don't worry." Rose sighed. "Vic's doing okay but I think it still catches him at times."

Kat nodded to that, knowing it was true. It still didn't help in seeing Victor so distraught. "Wish I could help though." Rose nodded, agreeing to that. Then Rose got up to clean a bit of the table up, her heart going out to her brother in law.

	It was more difficult for Victor to get up when he had finished vomiting, than it had been to crash to the floor. He rose unsteadily and then flushed the toilet. Before leaving the bathroom, he rinsed his mouth out and used some mouthwash. He finally returned to the dining room, looking a little pale and rather embarrassed. "I'm sorry," he said softly. 	Rose waved at her to keep sitting, putting everything away with Aislinn. Kat's desire to see Victor well was lovely and it made Rose happy. Kat shook her head, "you didn't ruin anything. I read up on it, it'll probably happen a few times. I waned to know what I should do, especially because of Miranda. So just sit down and take a breath. It's all good." 	Victor nodded and he felt shaky and weak, which he hated. He did as Kat said though, and remained sitting so he could focus on breathing. 	She knew how to calm Miranda down, but wasn't too sure how to calm Victor down. In the end she set her hand on the back of his neck and let her fingers run along his skin. She hoped it helped. "I'm sorry. You're fine now though." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Of course," she gave a shy smile. "I want to know how to help you. Granted it's just internet things but I figure you'll tell me if I'm doing it wrong. I am here for you though." She blushed then and glanced to Rose, who was watching them with a smile. "So I notice. You already met my family though. Except my sisters. I'll have to wrangle them together, whenever Miranda feels up to it."

	"I'm glad to know that." She curled close for a moment before rising. She felt awful in not helping. "I'll talk to Cordy. She should be free." She gave Victor a kiss before going to the kitchen. Smiling she watched Kat talk to Aislinn, probably about seals. "No you're up to date." she chuckled at that, glad Victor was feeling better and so enthralled. "She is. A bit different, though, I think? She seems a little less extroverted." She'd noticed Victor seemed fond of people who were more open then he was at times. Kat seemed lovely but Rose could tell she wasn't yet at ease, where as her sister had been able to talk to anyone.
