Entry tags:cerberus, pheme

Who: Cerberus, Charon (at the beginning), and Pheme
When: Friday Night
Where: School
What: Sadie Hawkins Dance, first french kiss :3
Status: Complete

Xander's leg bounced up and down at what seemed like 50 miles a second as he sat in the car. Pheme had said this was what a 'date-date' was, so he was super nervous. His hands fidgited with the small plastic container that held a delicate blood red flower on a black ribbon. Like any of his clothes even his suit was black on black, the lapel a soft black satin.

Looking at Charon, he wondered if having a driver really did impress people. Would others at the dance have one? Was it not normal to have one? He adored Charon, the man had never given him a reason not to, but would Pheme? Would she like any of them? He didn't know how the other Greeks viewed any of the Underworld. He had nevered needed to care.

As far as Roxy was concerned, if Xander thought getting drunk would help him out then she was all for it. She wasn't going to play bad cop and point out that liquid confidence usually ended up causing people to make asses of themselves, instead figuring if he stuck with her he wouldn't have to worry about that. Roxy wasn't judging him, even if she was judging everyone else.

A slight smile was offered to Xander's friend after they got the punch from him, although she didn't have any of it until they got to their destination and she had both hands free once again. Taking a sip, she winced at the mixture before closing her eyes and gulping it down, grinning at Xander once she was done. "That's good, and if it isn't we can always leave." She paused, glancing down at her cup. "By the way, you shouldn't go to that kids' parties. All people do at them is drink too much, some do drugs, and sometimes people go into closets or dark rooms and like, do it."

It didn't even dawn on him what getting drunk would do, but he found the odd sensations that the drinks gave him interesting and the calculating personality- though aware of just how the night would end- still wanted to know the effects on all three of them. They hadn't tried anything like this before.

Xander was determined not to leave. He had wanted this dance maybe more than she did, but he had tried everything to impress her only to fail horribly. There was no winning it seemed for the puppy. The grin flickered from his lips as she told him what the party was like. The calculating personality informed him that she was right that it was in their best interest not to go to such a party- if not because of the things she listed but because of what the violent one might do in that situation. "Why would they do drugs in a closet?" He asked innocently, confusion flickering across his features.

She'd never been well and truly drunk before herself, but knew what it did to other people and was a little concerned about her ability to handle Xander if he drank enough for his more violent side to come out. She would never admit that, though.

Roxy had no idea that he as still trying to impress her, especially since she thought she made it clear that she already liked him. In her mind, that meant he had already crossed the biggest hurdle and had nothing further to prove. His question caused her to blink in shock. "Well, so that nobody else sees what they're doing and tries to get in on it, but drugs aren't the only thing they'd be doing in there. Sometimes, they do... sexual things, like not just making out but getting all touchy-feely and naked and stuff." She answered, feeling awkward at having to explain it.

"Oh," he blinked at first. As she explained further what she meant, he felt just as awkward about it. Nakedness was nothing, but the idea of sexual interactions like that made him feel strange and he wasn't sure he was comfortable with feeling that strange. "Ooh." He wasn't sure what to say to it either. Was he suppose to respond to that?

There was a just as awkward moment of silence, before the alcohol settled once more in his system and the music flowed softly around them. "I always did love music..." he said finally. Holding out his hand in an offer to dance, Xander smiled softly. He just wanted his dance with her. Though being so close to her in that manner made him want to feel more of her- his hands would surely move down her hip to feel the slight curve, for no other reason than it felt like the thing to do.

"Yeah..." she responded, clearly unsure of how to proceed. She honestly had no issues with being naked either, and was aware of the hows and whys of sex but her own inexperience made talking about it with any degree of surety seem impossible.

Sitting there trying to think of ways to get them past the weird lull in their conversation, Roxy had been inspecting her nails when he spoke again. "I love music too, mainly how there's songs for like, every situation," she agreed. When he stood and offered his hand Roxy felt her cheeks getting warm at the sight of his smile. Taking his hand, she allowed him to help her up as she accepted his request for a dance.

The song was muffled enough that he didn't feel the effects as much. The drink and music lulled his brain into a comfortable area of calm. One he was only made aware of because the violent one had become surprisingly quiet inside his mind. It felt peaceful. Placing his hands on her waist, he stepped gently back and forth to the beat. He didn't worry about his feet- the alcohol helped him forget about it for now.

"I just like how soothing it could be... When I first found I had this form I spent three days laying in the room Hades made up for me just listening to music. It was so strange to be human." Xander admitted. His mind skipped to another thought that didn't really go with the first. "I'm glad you asked me to the dance... I had noticed you before and hoped i could get a chance to talk to you." Hear her speak was more like it. Xander was not the best conversationalist with three minds trying to pull him in different directions, but he liked her voice and her thoughts and how she understood humans like he could only wish he could.

One of the first things she noticed as they started to dance was that he didn't seem as nervous or sleepy as he had earlier, and she wasn't sure how much of that was due to the alcohol and how much was due to the distance from the music. Either way, she was pleased that he seemed more comfortable around her.

"Oh, yeah, it can definitely be soothing. I like to put music on at night when I'm having trouble sleeping because the noise makes me feel better," Roxy confessed. It was hard going from being able to hear everything that had been going on to only hearing select tidbits, and having music on made up for those lost sounds. "How come you didn't come and say hi or something?" she asked, a little confused. Roxy couldn't understand why he would wait for her to talk to him when he could've easily approached her.

Xander shrugged as he turned her in a smooth semi circle. "I don't know. I guess I thought you wouldn't talk back. I'm not the best at greeting people ...or talking." He had watched her from afar because that was what he was use to doing. Cerberus never had good people skills, because his only interactions were stripping people of their mortal form so they couldn't escape the Underworld and scaring the shit out of the King Heracles took him to.

Roxy just looked confused at his explanation, wondering what about her gave him the impression she wouldn't talk to him. "I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't talk back, I mean I'd at least ask you your name, and then if I saw you on the journals I'd have said hi to you much sooner." It was baffling to her, they were both different from their fellow students which she figured would have made him feel more comfortable dealing with her. That he didn't, at least until recently, made her feel badly.

"I- I didn't know how to... I just thought your were beautiful and..." He shrugged, not really able to think of a better reason than that. She didn't know just how hard of a time he had trying to blend in at High School and failing so horribly that he had to have his 'mental disorder' listed in his file and told to the teachers. Which Roxy of all people would be aware that everyone in the school then knew about it. That was how he really had gotten the guy who was trying to get the dance drunk as a friend. He had used the knowledge and rumor against someone trying to bully him- the friend, not Xander.

"I still think you are amazing." Xander looked down, embarrassed but only slightly aware that he was. The room still spun like it did with the first drink, but he was at the point of liking the spinning. It made him feel like they were dancing in the air or jello. It made her lips more interesting to watch and his hands slipped down to her hips.

Stunned by his words -- she couldn't remember anyone evert saying she was beautiful or amazing before -- Roxy just stared up at him as though he was on drugs. Well, he had been drinking, so maybe it was the alcohol talking. Even so, she smiled widely and even had the grace to blush at the compliments. "Thank you, that's really nice of you to say, but I'm nothing special. In fact, originally people spent most of their time avoiding me unless they had something they wanted everyone to know." she admitted, not that knowing people disliked being the subject of gossip ever stopped her.

"I think you're amazing too, I mean how could I not?" It wasn't every day a guy treated her as sweetly as Xander did, and Roxy may have been a goddess but she was still a girl and highly susceptible to flattery. "I'm really glad you agreed to come to the dance with me, and that you like hanging out, and stuff."

Xander could think of a hundred ways she could not think he was amazing, each of them had been told to him by various other kids in the school who all thought he was strange or were freaked out by him or the fact that his 'guardian' worked with dead bodies. Kids were cruel and most of the time he didn't fully understand what they were talking about and needed someone to explain it to him- like his 'buddy'.

The song ended and an upbeat one with far too much bass started to blast, the THUMP THUMP THUMP could be heard through the walls as well as a few kids cheering. A few random kids came running out of the door closest to them laughing and practically falling over themselves. They gave Xander and Roxy a sideways glance and then moved on down the hall still in a fit of laughter. "Dances aren't really what I expected."

He tilted his head to the side watching the other kids try to make it down the other halls without falling. He suddenly really wanted to chase them, the violent personality awakening in him and wanting to 'playing' with the fresh meat. Taking a quick step to the side, Xander had to force his body not to go. His eyes flashed red. And in a matter of seconds the three minds were fighting with each other. Xander was murmuring in Ancient Greek.

Roxy may have heard most everything there was to hear about everyone else in the school, teachers included, but that didn't mean she believed or listened to it. Most kids their 'age' didn't know their asses from their elbows, and as such weren't worth their spit. Besides, her opinion was the only one that mattered.

When the more upbeat song started she nearly squealed that she loved this song, but then she heard the other students heading their way and put her fiercest glare on her face. As they ran past she could hear them whispering about her and Xander and felt her hands clenching into fists. She hated them, and hated not being able to do anything about their stupid condescending comments at the moment. Not when she was trying to behave. Ignoring them, she concentrated on his question. "Why, what did you expect?"

She turned to him, waiting on his answer when she noticed he was apparently talking to himself. Leaning in closer, it took her a few moments to recognize the language but once she did her ears perked up. It had been so long since she heard anyone speaking in the old tongue that Roxy had to stop herself from interjecting herself into the conversation. She stayed silent, figuring it was best to let Xander work through this without her interfering.

With one swift action, he grabbed her shoulders, turned her toward the wall and pushed her up against it. His eyes completely red as the violent mind took the small chance he had to be let free. Leaning in he took a deep breathe, smelling her hair, her scent, that lip balm she used before. A dark smirk gracing his lips. His teeth snapped forward towards her face. "Τι θα λέγατε για λίγη διασκέδαση?" He commented first in a more modern Greek. "I won't tell the poor puppy if you don't."

His entire demeanor had changed over to a darker one that you could smell the bloodlust off of. He didn't care about the taste of blood- as much as he liked it- but it was about tearing the soft flesh from the mortal bodies into small pieces. He didn't want to hide in the human form, but the others who were still arguing stopped any kind of transforming. The other voices could be heard softly in the back of his throat like a ventriloquist.

Gasping in shock as she felt him pushing her against the wall, closing her eyes after getting a glimpse of his reddened ones, she quickly recovered her equilibrium enough to know that she should probably be afraid right now. And yet, she wasn't. She knew Xander was still in there somewhere and believed that no matter what happened he'd make sure she was kept safe. "Τι είδους διασκέδαση εννοείς?" she asked, suspicion tinging her tone. "And won't it be hard for him to not know, considering he's you?"

Roxy would admit that she didn't know as much about Xander's condition as she should -- whether it was like having a dissociative personality disorder or not -- but from earlier conversations she'd gotten the impression that the three all seemed to co-exist and were aware of what each other did. That didn't stop her from being intrigued by what this side of Xanders' concept of fun was. She doubted it was playing tiddlywinks, though.

Fear would be the proper reaction to this side. Mortal or immortal he cared little about the person and more about feeding his ever insatiable hunger. At her retort, he only smiled again and licked his lips. "He's not me," he growled. "That's like saying an identical twin is the same person because they're from the same seed." Sure the minds shared the same body and it was even more cramped than it had been originally, but they were not the same people.

Letting one of her shoulders go, but keeping a tight grip on the other he started to pull her down the hall toward the way the other kids went and the classrooms. He would show her his fun if that was what she wanted. Stopping suddenly, he shook his head, fighting back the others. A low growl turned into a roar as the violent one regained full control. "Stupid little..." He looked back at her with his still red eyes and pulled her close to him. "I should rip you apart to prove my point," he growled. The free hand clawing at the back of her skull as he forced a kiss on her lips, biting on her lip.

Being scared had no place in Pheme's life, never had and probably never would. Considering what she was the goddess of if she allowed herself to be afraid she'd have never done anything, and that mindset had stuck with her throughout the years. Rolling her eyes at his words, she snorted. "Yeah, no shit," she began, shaking her head slightly. "No it ain't, identical twins don't share a body, moron. All I'm trying to say is that from what I've seen y'all are aware of what he does and sees so it stands to reason that he'd be aware of what y'all are doing too," she muttered, completely unconcerned about the possibility of annoying him.

When he started dragging her down the hall, she used her free hand to whack him on the shoulder a few times. "You don't gotta yank me, you're gonna leave bruises!" She wasn't exactly being quiet about how cranky his sudden mood shift was making her, and had no intentions of just letting him do whatever he liked without fighting back. "Oh yeah, that's a great idea," she drawled sarcastically. "I bet Hades and Persephone would be real fuckin' pleased if you ripped up the goddess of gossip, since Zeus knows I'd never let you forget it." She would've said more, but then his mouth was over hers, teeth digging into her lip. Without thinking of the consequences she slapped him as hard as she could while kicking out at his leg. "Stop." slap "Being." kick. "Hurty." slap, kick. "Jerk."

The violent personality merely laughed at her sentiments about how their minds worked. They saw what Xander did because he needed protection from others. He was an innocent pup always in the present and unaware of the evil that was out there, the evil that he held within him also. He didn't bother with the retort, she could think whatever she wanted to think.

The personality didn't care as much about what Hades, Persephone and Zeus had to say about things. Hades was his boss, but he could always just do it and then get punished later for it. He would still get the satisfaction of doing it. Removing himself and allowing Xander back the control in time for the beating, his eyes returned to their light blue and his curled his arm up to block the attacks. "Why... are you hitting me?" He asked, pulling away from her attacks and running into a locker. His brows furrowed in worry, her nail had scrapped his cheek making it bleed.

Not only could she think what she wanted to think, but she was also secure enough in her belief in those thoughts that she felt no problem throwing down with one of Hades servants if she needed to. And in this moment, when he was acting like she was just another potential victim, she was willing to set aside any sentimental feelings she had towards Xander in order to keep herself safe if needs be.

She knew, deep down, that her Xander was in there somewhere, but she wasn't going to stop fighting back until all three things living inside his head knew that she was not someone to be trifled with. And sure, maybe it was a little early to start thinking of him as hers, especially when she obviously could stand to learn a little more about his 'other' selves, but whatever. Her hand was in mid-swing when he started backing up again the lockers. Roxy was able to stop herself before she hit him again, but she kept her hand ready just in case. "Your other you pushed me up against a wall after I caught you speaking Greek, threatened me, probably bruised my damn wrist, and bit my lip, so I was doing a bit of cognitive recalibration," she said, borrowing a term from The Avengers movie.

Eyes wide with worry, his blue eyes scanned her features for any other wounds he might have inflicted. "I... I'm sorry... I shouldn't have let them pull me into their arguments." He ran his hand through his hair. "Um... I don't know..." He really wanted to just run away, leave her be, let Charon drive her home so she didn't have to deal with him. He couldn't stand seeing her hurt or angry with him.

Xander blinked and his demeanor changed once more, but to something that few ever saw. Pushing himself off the floor, he brushed his suit off, fixed his hair and looked Roxy over without touching her or being too close. Even his hands were behind his back so she wouldn't feel threatened. No words came from his mouth, but he appeared utterly calm with a slight smile on the corner of his lips. Gesturing for her to follow him, he started toward a chemistry classroom with first aid, glancing back to make sure she follow. Something in his face said that nothing bad would happen further and he just wanted Xander to have a nice night again.

Eying him warily, she wasn't sure what to think of him in this moment. He was being all apologetic and acting like the Xander she knew, but somewhere inside him was a crafty fucker who might just be using the sweet guy she was used to as bait. "Well, whatever, next time give a girl some warning," she managed to get out, posture relaxing slightly ut not fully. Not after what she'd just dealt with.

Roxy could see there was something different about this one, but what it was exactly that caused him to stand apart from Xander-Prime and Xander-Grr was not yet apparent to her. That he was keeping his distance was a good thing, since she was still high-strung and prone to lashing out if he got too close too quickly. When he started walking towards a classroom she nearly took that as her chance to leave, but followed him anyway. Inwardly, she was cursing her stupidity, but she knew that if she ran off now she'd never feel comfortable speaking to him again. Though she'd only recently gotten to make his acquaintance, Roxy liked Xander far to much to throw all that away so soon. Besides, if she absolutely needed to defend herself again there were plenty of potential weapons in a chemistry class.

This personality could see the different scenerios play out. He knew how close he was allowed before she would swing and if the violent one escaped again what would happen to the body. The future ever played out to him, all different directions as the future constantly changed based on the options available. He knew she would follow because he knew that she would want to keep Xander.

Unlike the hundreds of other classrooms that were locked to keep kids out this one easily opened- a problem with the locking mechanism that would never get fixed, but few knew about. He stepped inside, immediately going to the first aid station and pulling out the small red and white box and setting it on a table close to him. Glancing at Roxy, he pat the table in a gesture for her to sit on it so he could inspect her injuries further- or as some would call it 'play doctor'.

Though her eyebrows seem to have become stuck in a raised position, and her body language screamed that her 'fight or flight' instinct was in overdrive, Roxy sat down on the table that this most recent incarnation of Xander patted, finally allowing herself to let out the deep breath that she'd been holding in. If there was one thing that was more persuasive than her all-consuming need to know everything, it was the curiosity that was so rampant within her.

That he had gotten a first aid kit was enough to convince her that whatever aspect of Xander that was in control at the moment had no desire to hurt her, and to even have her thinking that in her anger she may have exaggerated things just a bit. Then she looked down at her arm, seeing the redness that still lingered from his grip, and reminded herself that Xander was among a select few who she had never lied to, not even when she could've gotten away with it. A tentative smile came to her face as she nodded in the direction of the kit, clearing her throat. "You probably don't need that, I think my pride might be hurt worse than the rest of me."

The personality smirked and shrugged, still not saying anything. He rarely spoke to anyone but the others in the head, because though he was by far the most well-spoken his ability to see the future outcomes of conversations would get in the way. Gently taking her hand in his, he looked closer at the redness from the violent ones' grip and rolled his eyes. He had no concept of etiquette or how to treat people. Just as gently he lowered her arm and looked at Roxy's lip, opening his mouth in gesture that she should so the same.

That he wasn't saying anything was a bit disconcerting, but she supposed she could understand. Maybe he was worried that he might say something wrong, or he knew his more angry side was still lurking and waiting to pounce. Whatever it was, she felt the need to reassure him that she wasn't going anywhere, but then she noticed him opening his mouth and busied herself mimicking Xander's gesture. "Should I say 'aah' too, like when I go to the doctors?" she asked, jokingly, before quieting down so he could check her over as he seemed to want to.
