Who: Helios and Rhode [cameo by Poseidon]
What: Poseidon drags Helios home in the wind and rain.
When: Monday night
Where: Rhode and Helios' apartment
Warnings: TBD

It had taken the rest of the afternoon and nearly all night by the time Poseidon had dragged Helios to Rhode's door like a lost kitten. He banged on the door, still holding the giant by his collar as if he were diseased. "Next time keep a leash on your property. Don't want it out getting killed do you?" Poseidon snorted shoving Helios in the door and following in himself. "I found him down by Sag Harbor wandering around like a zombie."

Helios had been gone since the darkness had cloaked the city in it's eerie blanket. He'd woken up in a body of water soaked to the bone, bloody and feeling as if his limbs had been stitched back together with a dull needle. The weeks that followed he became more disoriented with no idea of where to go or who to contact. Rhode had been on his mind when he first recovered, but as days followed he lost more and more of what his real quest had been. To get home.

Helios knew where he was now, but he was still a disheveled mess. His clothes were tattered, he smelled like fire, rain, blood and sweat. With the sun gone he was in a daze.

Rhode rolled her eyes. "Yes, yes, you hate him and wished you would have dropped him in the ocean. Give the ocean New Jersey instead, because I will kill you myself if he comes up missing again." Her smile was poisonously sweet. "And now that you've done your good deed for the decade, you can get out," she told him, shutting the door in his facr. She was very grateful for Hecate's wards, they'd keep her father out.

She turned to look at her husband, worry etched all over her face. "You're a mess, love," she said, turning on some of the lamps and cranking up the heat. "Let's get you a hot bath and some clean clothes. And a good meal. You look like you need them."

"Because I don't hate Jersey," Poseidon said. "Next time he wanders off I'll bury him in that ocean so he can't come back," he warned her before turning away from the shut door. Honestly, his children had no manners at all.

Helios still hadn't said a peep, just trying to familiarize himself with the room. He shivered against her touch. The last words they'd spoken to each other had been hateful and in anger. "Rhode..." he croaked out, letting the light of the room soak into his skin.

"Belief will bring him back, so deal with it!" she shouted through the locked and warded door. "And most of America hates Jersey, you'd be doing them a favor."

"I'm here, Helios," she said, guiding him further inside and peeling off his shredded, bloody shirt. "Come on, in here." Whatever they had fought about, she wasn't thinking about it anymore. Her only thought was seeing that he was taken care of and brought back to himself.

"Not many hanging on baby girl." Not to Titans. They were a dying breed. He let her be, he could feel something else brewing in the air, so he took his leave back to the sea where she called for him.

Helios stumbled at Rhode's lead. His skin pimpling with goosebumps once his clothes were off. "I'm sorry," he could tell he'd worried her. It was in her eyes, her voice and the way she handled him.

"Bah!" she shouted, spitting a Greek curse through the door and turning away. She had more important things to worry about than her father's idiocy.

"Shh," she said, turning on the hot water, letting steam fill the room. "I'm sorry too, love. More than I can say. But we can talk about that later. You're half frozen and shaking, I want to make sure you're well first." She drizzled some lavender oil into the water, it would be good for his cuts and bruises.

As soon as he hit the water, the warmth of it shot all kinds of memories through him. He'd been wandering around for weeks without a clue as to what went down. A tremor erupted through his body, clinging to her hands tightly.

"I went looking for you." he said through wet eyes. "I came across a group that would have torn me apart." They had tried, they'd dragged him off, but by the time the darkness cleared they hadn't been able to carry out their deed.

She held onto him tightly, not even noticing the pressure. They were finally home together again, the way it should be, and until he was himself again, she wasn't letting him out of her sight. She sat on the edge of the tub, trailing her fingers through the warm water as he spoke.

"I haven't seen you since the darkness," she said at last. "You were lost, I couldn't find any trace of you at all. I was ready to start going block by block, but then the storm hit. My sisters are loving it, but I was just crossing my fingers we wouldn't lose power." She examined him with a critical eye. "Anything broken? I think Mount Sinai still has power, if you need a hospital."

One thing he had to thank the situation for is it brought them more together since she had stayed with Aphrodite. They varied on opinions often, but fights with Rhode were never small. Poseidon was constantly coming between them in some fashion.

"A few ribs perhaps," he winced, but no doctor could fix that. A cracked rib would have to heal on its own. He looked at her seriously. "When I'm healed, when we can, we can try for that child you want." He should have told her that from the beginning. "I shouldn't have made you wait."

"I think there's some ace bandages around here, we can bind them, at the very least," she said. "And limit the bending. That'll help them heal faster."

A cautious kind of hope spread over her face. "You know I'd never say no to another child," she said. "It's one of the things I miss most about this new life I made for myself, that they could not come with me. I would really like that."

He moved slow, almost a robot from all the sore stiffness his body had within it. Whatever had been done, the blood that had coated his clothing had been mostly his own.

He smiled seeing her smile. He liked giving her something to be hopeful about. The last few months had been far from it. If anything this darkness had taught him that he needed to bend a little more, especially with Rhode.
