As Luna had hoped that afternoon, the dancefloor of Illunis was packed full of hot bodies tonight, everyone embracing the full force of Goth as they swayed together to a low industrial beat. Luna’s dress was black velvet, cleavage corseted and pushed up and pale legs revealing themselves from the long slits in her skirt.

It felt like there was something magic in the air tonight, like anything at all might be possible. Luna’s skin seemed to tingle with possibilities.

Which was why she almost wasn’t surprised when she saw Will Scarlet on the other side of the dance floor, his eyes on hers. She was sure that it wasn’t true, but it did feel like the crowd parted like the Red Sea between them. (There had been an ocean between the two of them for a long time now.)

And so, as he watched her, Luna found that she smiled. Over the music, beneath the flashing lights, Luna mouthed hi.

Luna laughed gently at the muse’s complete confusion that people didn’t just come together on command, or that maybe men who weren’t with Erato needed more than thirty seconds to get hard again.

“Well,” Luna sighed, “it is what it is. I do like your version. It’s just… more of a pleasant fantasy.” Which was Erato’s stock and trade, really, so Luna couldn’t be surprised. There was no ‘Will and Luna’ anymore, but of course that made Erato see it all the more clearly.

	Erato sat back in her chair with a little sigh and tugged her lap blanket a little higher. "Well…. you never know," she said, ever optimistic for a romantic outcome. "What if you had gone over when you saw him? It might have gone like this." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Luna smiled a little sadly at her friend and said, “maybe it would have,” although it was clear from the tone that Luna didn’t believe that. No, if she’d gone and talked to Will that night then all she would have gotten for it was hurt. Luna didn’t want to be hurt any more. She felt like (for once) she’d made the smarter decision, thinking with her head instead of her heart… and other parts.

Making herself more comfortable in the chair, Luna leaned her head on the plush arm and smiled at Erato a little more easily. “Tell me another story though.”
