"I'm sure it will," George told her reassuringly as she settled her pad and pen on her lap and picked up her tea. Once she'd taken a sip she glanced at her pad then across to Nana.
"From what John has mentioned you've had quite a time of it with the lottery system," she started with. "If I can start at the beginning, before the lottery came into being, and everything was still 'normal' or at least as normal as it could be, had you thought about getting married? Or been in a situation that might have led to it if things had continued the way they were?" Finding out people's original attitudes to the concept had a great bearing on what came after. With the variety of people she'd spoken to she'd found some interesting differences to what she had thought were considered 'the norm', so was intrigued to find out all she could.
