Stretching out on a Sunday night.
Who: Jay Daniels & Open What: Night out Where: Somewhere in Seattle When: Sunday evening Rating: TBC Status: Open - anyone?
Jay groaned as he pushed himself back from the table, the folders in front of him stacked up unevenly and threatening to tumble off the edge of the table. He reached forward quickly and grabbed them, straightening the pile and picking it up to put it back in the box he would take it back to school in the next day.
He glanced at his watch, the time surprising him. His entire weekend was gone on going through the assignments he'd been handed, marking them, making comment on the composition, the exposures and ideas each student had used. It took time, each person seeing something different, presenting their idea of a photographic essay and at times he had sat and stared at one for a good half hour trying to actually see the theme and what continuity the photographer had decided was there. Some had left him completely stumped, which wasn't a bad thing - he just needed to talk to those individuals separately and see what it was they could see that he couldn't.
Art and beauty - all in the eye of the beholder.
But photographic essays? Their story should be able to be seen by even the most inexperienced eye!
He checked his watch again and stretched, wondering whether to go for a jog but deciding against it when he glanced out the window and saw the clouds, the first drizzles of rain already teasing the bottoms of them into misty fluff.
A drink, and maybe, if he could find a place hopping on a Sunday night, some dancing. That would be good, loosen up the limbs a little and maybe, if the company was good, a pleasant night. He hadn't had one of those for weeks, since school had started, and that wasn't a good thing as far as he was concerned. Still, professionalism made it impossible for him to put his social and private life in front of whatever job he was on at the time.
He grabbed a quick shower, ran a comb through his hair and checked himself in the mirror before heading out, a jacket swung over his shoulder and his keys and wallet now in his pocket along with his phone.
Inhaling deeply when he reached the sidewalk he decided to walk till he found a cab, then get the cab driver to select a place. Cabbies were always the best source of that sort of information the world over.
