Good afternoon. Congratulations on another well-deserved win last week. We in the office are proud of you all.
A few notes today. I want to remind you all of the quickly-approaching St. Andrew's Day Fly With Pride gala, this Thursday at 7 o'clock. As I indicated on your schedules in the beginning of the season, I'd like all of you in attendance in formal robes, please. We are well aware of your match the following morning, so you needn't stay late, and I imagine your coach would appreciate it if you would abstain from over-indulging at the bar. The gala is in support of our "We All Fly With Pride" initiative promoting unity and community among the whole Portree family, old and new. Please keep that in mind.
For those of you who have participated in our "Whiskers for WANDS" month through not shaving, congratulations on a successful fundraiser for disadvantaged students. Between outside donations and the team's contribution, we have raised enough Galleons to provide fifteen young witches and wizards with generous scholarships to purchase textbooks and other school supplies for next year, as well as a 50-Galleon contribution to the first-years' wand fund from one of our very special donors. Do feel free to start shaving again at any time. I think we would all appreciate it.
Finally, as we approach the season break, we will be stepping up our promotion of the referendum vote in partnership with Montrose and Wigtown. I know we are not all Scottish here, and we may not all be of the same mind on the referendum question, but I think we can all agree that it's important that the public has their say on this issue. I'll let you know when and where to show up for get-out-the-vote events.
Your to-dos for Thursday:
• Double-check donor commitments. Double up on the charm if necessary.
• Follow up on special guest invitations.
• Do we have enough drinks ordered? This is Quidditch, so probably increase the order by a third if we can.
• One of you please babysit McCormack and keep an eye on all three MacFusties.
• Make sure those retired Hitwizards are still a go for security. I am not taking chances with this.
• Any friendly media contacts you have, get them there. No one from Witch Weekly, they're dead to me.
• Smile. You've done good work on this.
I wanted to check in and see how you were settling in over there. Is everything going all right in the exciting world of Quidditch PR?
You and I and Wigtown's Singh should get together sometime soon to coordinate the get-out-the-vote project and finalize our publicity plans. We'd better make it next week. When are you free?
