I'm new to the Portree area. Anyone have a line on a flat or a room to let, 'til I can find something more permanent-like? Don't quite fancy the Floo charge from Exeter.

bad show, Cannons

Merlin, Dragomir, were you somehow drunk?

Better luck next time, Cannons, but nicely done, Wanderers! No worries, Cannons- Pride is coming for you last.

Edited to add... will cook in ridiculous quantities in exchange for even just prospects.

I just moved to Mull! We'll be on the same Island. Are you looking for someplace citified or do the rural or beachfront properties hold more sway?

I'd not really given it that much thought, beyond I'm currently on the complete opposite side of where I currently need to be. Been in cities most of my years. Wouldn't say no to a beachfront, though. Rural might drive me spare.

I'm wrong! I'm from Aberdeen, so I don't really get the Hebrides yet. Portree is on Skye, so you are a ways north of me. You're in a good spot, north-central part of the big islands. You could do Harris, Lewis, Iona, Skye itself, south towards Uisk, or Mull.

Fort William Town on the mainland is the nearest and drearest of all cities in Scotland. Stick to the Isles.

Also, Tobermory isn't Gaelic for "Triangular Chocolates", no matter what anyone tells you...

Now you know everything I do about the Islands. Welcome to Scotland.

I feel as though I should tip you for the tour.

Do you accept mince pies? Baklava?

As one new Hebridean to another, we should stick together! I'm gonna learn the quaint island ways, like sailing and sacrificing newcomers in hastily-constructed wicker statues getting the hell off the island when I'm sick of birds and other such tricks.

If you can cook, I am sorta desperate for lessons. I've been batching in just fine, but my wee niece is coming for yule and she should probably eat something I didn't buy from a shady chippy in Glasgow cook myself. Or do you only specialize in baking?

Cooking, baking, desserts- I do a bit of everything, mostly just what I might fancy trying at the time. I've never given lessons, but there's a first for everything.

I'm sure I can carve time out of my new schedule; let me know whenever you might be free.

By the way, you're not quite selling me on island life

See, I barely know where to shop, except for muggle stores from when I was a kid. I'd be easy to give lessons to, because I literally know nothing.

My schedule gets crazy, because I scout most Quidditch matches, but unless we get a 15 hour special, I'm home before too late. Thank Merlin Quidditch matches don't believe in starting at sunrise!

Does Saturday work for you? The hols are creeping on far too speedily for their own good, and I imagine you'll want some practice before then.

Also, look into Floo delivery for most of your pantry staples. Saved my dinner a time or two, that has. I'm sure we can fit in a market run as well, or at least I can offer tips.
