If you’ve never been to Japan, I highly recommend Shikoku Island. And if anyone’s wondering where I ran off to last week, that would be where. I could live there, actually.

Good thing portkeys exist and don’t always break, so I can go back sometime.

Shikoku Island is great! Well, there's lots of Japan that's great really. But then I'm kind of biased about that since it's where quarter of my family is from.

Really? That's absolutely brilliant. Have you done the pilgrimage? I didn't even know that was a thing when I arrived but it was fascinating. Maybe one day.

I was there to fly and explore and I met a good amount of people for how isolated it was where I was staying.

Really. No, I haven't had the chance yet. It takes a while to do, and in between school and then working I've only had holidays to visit. One day though. But I have been to the Sapporo Snow Festival when my cousins took me one year - that was pretty amazing.

Oh, yeah, it can be but the people certainly make up for it. I visit Minami-Iōtō at least once a year, and that's pretty isolated but then I'm there visiting family, and I do get the chance to fly on one of the giant storm petrels that Mahoutokoro uses for their day students. My grandparents... well, a couple of aunts and uncles (since my grandparents have somewhat retired) help raise and look after the petrels; aside from the school they're, as far as I know, the only other residents on the island.

No idea. I got it switched to me from a mate who had a change of plans last minute. But traveling doesn't have to be expensive.
