Full disclosure, I am now dating Kenna McLeod. My siblings and her sister know; our parents do not, though she will be telling hers this week, I believe.

I would like to tell my father myself, however I wanted to let you know as a courtesy to our team and to ensure the team is not blindsided in any way.

I think just tell them at dinner, casually, like it's not a big thing. Dating isn't courting like I'm doing with Georgi, so you're probably in good shape if you make that clear.

If you need me to coordinate some announcement with you so I can make sure they have other things on their mind and don't start fitting Kenna for a bridal tiara--which I think might be more Mum's thing than Da's--we'll work something out. Something about the article or the prospects for the Scottish Office would be good. Da's supposedly on the short list for that, in case you didn't know.

Without having met her and talked with her, it's hard to say, but I can't imagine that anyone you like would come off poorly to Mum and Da. In terms of you, they might think you're a bit young but it's not as though you're irresponsible.

The article I'm preparing is to do with a list of names that are being bruited about for the office and Da's on them. Also a few other's like Fergus Quintin, obviously, and William Wallace Wood. Desmond Parkin. And ... rumour has it that Kirsten McBride is on the short list as well. I know you and Alec will keep it under your hats but if we need it, it's certainly a thing we can mention to Da. It comes out on Sunday anyhow.
