Ah, being able to see the charity match from an entirely neutral point of view really was a truly entertaining spectacle (and not just in the media box - right, ladies?). I have a piece to write for the Ottawa Oracle for it, actually, but having recorded some live pieces during the match, we'll be running a special feature at the weekend along with fan feedback on this, and the other matches that have already taken place this bloc. I am looking forward to it already.

Charlie Miracle
Mon ami, our producer was not pleased when he found out you were doing your special programmes on certain positions! We were going to do something similar, but instead, I have proposed we do a mid-season "top 5" for each spot, and argue the case for each player to be the best in their position so far. Do you feel like coming on to make arguments on a statistical basis?

I think someone's commentary throughout the match rather helped with that a little. It was certainly entertaining, and for once I didn't feel as if I needed to embellish any of the action - it all rather spoke for itself.

And I look forward to hearing your special feature!

I am glad my commentary was able to entertain! Though some people need to provide commentary of their own, ouais?

Perhaps, if there was anything to tell.

I honestly don't mean to sound evasive it's just... just... well, there's no definite thing just yet to tell.

There is, but I don't know if it really is anything just yet - at least in any kind of official sense.

We really need more exhibition matches where folks can buy fouls. Makes it entertaining.

Oops! But I love this top 5 idea! You guys give your top 5 and I can throw the numbers to support or not! Although beaters are one of the harder spots for stats, have to admit.

The chasers Will be interesting because a few of those matches where the keeper took a nasty fall really spiked up some of their points.

You are preaching to the choir there, mon ami, but I am glad you like the idea.

I'm thinking of different statistical arguments for Chasers and things like this as well, where there are many different ways to look at it. Assists vs tactical reasons for missing shots and so on. It should be a fun discussion!

Well that'll be the fun bit! There are things the numbers don't show that game strategy does, and vice versa. Frankly I'm not so fussed on accuracy % in chasers for the most part, a lot of teams like to bombard the keeper and cause some confusion and misdirection.

Fair warning so you can prep: The top chaser stats might lead us into a talk about the 'take out the keeper' strategy we've been seeing early on. The top scoring chasers have won their titles on matches with defenceless hoops.

Ouais, I have been noticing this when watching certain teams in particular. Lead Chasers playing to misdirect and allow other Chasers to up their goal scores. This is why we want to come up with the discussion from several angles like this - it should be fun!

I am, as they say, counting on it? I think one of the things the team will be doing, in preparing for the segment on Chasers, is to compare the statistics for teams where the Keepers remained in the game and where they didn't. After all, there is an argument for defenceless hoops counting more for the work of the beaters than the Chasers, ouais? But this will certainly make for an interesting debate!
