I don't know how my sister does it, but she somehow gets my sleep schedule reversed in three days flat. Staying up with her all night is great for my psyche, but not so great for my training schedule. Though when I tell her this, she just rolls her eyes at me.

Next time she visits me, I'll get her night-shift-working self on MY schedule and see how she likes it.

At least she cooks for me?

Oh I did. And then I got stuck at my parent's house. It might have been an omen.

Yes well of course I don't like it when Quidditch players get hurt. It doesn't really make my job easier, it just gives me more to do. But I'm getting better at putting them back together. And... yeah.

But, it was nice seeing you. !!!!!

...you got stuck at your parent's house? How does that happen?

I can't say I envy you that part. You don't have a job if people don't get sick or hurt, but you don't want them to get sick or hurt. Still hope I don't ever end up I think I'll just leave this topic right there. Anything else feels like I'm tempting Fate.

You, too! Since the last time was...what, ten years ago?

OOC: Strike-out is legible enough to read.

Well there was the snow storm, and there were muggle guests who don't know about wizards so I could just... apparate.

Yes, that's fine. Completely understand. My job can be... a lot. And I mean, most Quidditch players avoid seeing me completely I'm sure. Stop talking about, she's uncomfortable!

Right! Wait, what? At Hogwarts?

Oh. That kind of stuck. I have relatives who think my car is always in the shop, because I don't actually have one, and "friends" always have to drop me off. Friends they never happen to see.

To be fair, it's kind of our own fault. I mean, it's not like we're Hit Wizards. Which is not to say I don't love it anyway, but it's a calculated risk. So thanks for putting up with us and making us well again.

Yes, Hogwarts. I wouldn't expect you to remember me. I was all of 12. You helped me with disarming charms. I accidentally disarmed that 7th year witch with the long blonde hair and was SO embarrassed, but you didn't even blink an eye and kept teaching. I might have had a bit of a crush after that

OOC: That one is scratched out REALLY well. Like, excessively.

Yes, but I figured a way out. That is an excuse I have never thought to use anymore, interesting.

That sounds like you're almost sensible about it! You're welcome. It's what I do.

OH! Really? I do remember. I was so fucking scared Lesley Toddington was going to stun me Wow that was awhile ago. And you are not 12 anymore...

OOC: That last one might not be scratched off as well

It's only because they know I don't live in town. They don't know quite how far away I do live, though. How did you get out of it? Out of curiosity.

A long while ago. and somehow I'm still awkward...I can't believe you're even still talking to me You'll be happy to know I did finally master my disarming charms. Which is possibly one of the dumbest things I've ever said.

They live in a different county too though so it might work. Ah well... I locked myself in the WC a room and pretended to be sick so I could apparate to work.

Oh! I'm glad! It can be very useful. ... what am I even saying?

So. Because it's been awhile. And you don't like hospitals. Maybe we can see eachother somewhere else? For reasons. Like a date. Maybe. Someone just kill me instead of the inkbirds!

[Augustus]

Are you sure Do you have to work New Year's?

[...]

I'm sorry, that was a yes. Obviously I'm not even that much better on journals like I thought

Yes, really. Unless that wasn't a serious question?

I'm not great at this

I'm not great at this. In case that isn't obvious.

Yes No. of course not.

You're the one not great at this?!

I think I've gone through a whole bottle of ink on your journal. If that wasn't obvious. So... I get it.

Honestly, I don't get yes very often.

Wait, no-no, or

Talking to new people is hard. Even if they aren't new-new. Journals are a little easier, but yeah, scratch-outs are sometimes necessary.

Though, now that I think about it, you would think wizards would have erasers.

See? I'm talking about erasers.

But you're
I don't understand why not.

OOC: Scratch outs are all readable.

WHAT! No not no! Wait I shouldn't read these!!!

I have to talk to new people all the time but it still doesn't make it much easier when I say something awkward. Especially pretty girls because- At least journals I can scribble.

so many inkbirds dieing.

Well... I usually rarely get to the question stage. And then get yes even less. Really selling yourself there Pye...

OOC: Readable scribbles

Talking at work doesn't really count. I can talk to my teammates about which all day long. I didn't think you were awkward at the hospital. Well, okay, maybe a little. But not any more than me, and I liked taking to you.

I honestly didn't consider that you might. I just needed to vent about my sleep schedule, and now here we are.

[...]

Which is not to say it's unwelcome.

Did you want to go somewhere specific? I know if a couple of Hogmanay parties to choose from, or there's always regular old New Year's. The Scots are rather...enthusiastic, I've found.

OOC: She's not trying to leave those readable, but he can make it out if he tries hard enough.

That's true. It's easier for me to talk to women people at work usually because they're patients. Most people I see are in shock, or upset or something like that so... it's serious, not social and... yeah.

Reeeeeally?? I don't even remember what I said...

Well... I liked talking to you too. Which is probably why sleep schedules led to this.... I really didn't even think it would come to this! I'm just as surprised myself. It's Maggie's fault! NOT THAT I REGRET IT!

Oh. Well good. Yeah.

I... haven't really thought that far ahead. I'm still recovering from yes. If there is somewhere you want to go, I am happy to go anywhere with you.

I didn't scribble that out...

You don't have a potion that could help with that? Recovering from yes, that is. What am I even saying

I can gather the details on some options and owl you?

What? OH that was a joke... Ha, no. Recovery is just time. And maybe repeated yes(es) is that spelled right?

Sure. Great. Yeah, that will work.
