[Montrose/Portree/Wigtown]

Most of you haven't heard since this is a new thing but the Scottish teams are planning a charity match before the Referendum vote coming up. We're looking to promote voting, raise a bit for charity, and give the fans something fun to watch.

It will be one match with two mixed teams from all three of our Scottish teams. I will be coaching one side and the Portree coach is taking the other, and the playing is on a volunteer basis. It doesn't affect your record, stats, nothing. It's for a bit of fun and a good cause and getting to play with a different set of players and with a different coach for a bit.

Rosters and lineups are determined from a first come volunteer basis, and then which team you end up on is a random ballot draw once we have enough volunteers. So please volunteer here!

The match is currently planned for Jan 13th. We have no intentions of cutting into your vacation time so we'll only start doing practices a week before the match.

Please note: Anyone participating will need the all clear from their team's medic before being allowed.

[OOC: Let's start with one volunteer per player and if there's more space we up it to 2!]

[Also if you don't have a player and want one for a short bit: Wigtown NPCs! Here's the NPC sheet with the names!]

[Kenna]
Alright lass, go volunteer yourself now before the Wigtown lot dive in!

The current plan is for it to go from Jupes' birthday on the 1st to mine on the 6th.

Except now I'm not drinking... but there will be multiple days of festivities.

Weel, I'll be around for part of it, and for sure I'll be there on your birthday.

I suppose that's alright then... Though I've no idea how I'll break it to Jupes.

They're like our Scottish mooses, only a good sight bigger and with great braw noses. And horns atop their great braw heids.

I'll give you a hint, it starts with C and rhymes with Granada. Sort of.

Can you not get hockey sticks here? Are they different somehow in Canada?

No. Maybe. Probably. No.

They make them better in Canada. I need a new one. I'll pay you back!

Where are you visiting?

If my wife has not convinced you of the wonders of Brazil then I'm afraid you're a lost cause. And you've been put on the volunteer list.

[Angus]
Can you do me a favour, lad?

I'm sure Brazil's lovely, but I reckon it's too warm for my island blood down there.

[Coach]
Whatever you need, chief, I'll do my best. What is it then?

Far off in sunlit places
Sad are the Scottish faces
Yearning to feel the kiss
Of sweet Scottish rain

[Angus]
Also as a single lad, there's a lot of fun to be had. Beaches and lovely lasses in what should be the deepest part of winter. And of course the food but then I'll have to have you fly it all off after.

Check in on Lennox for me? I'm afraid I'm not the one to be of much help right now and am giving him his space. He seemed...distressed, and he didn't take things too well last time I had a chat with him. You know him best of course, I figure if anyone can try to help the lad, it'd be you.

Never was a truer word spoken. Or sung.

[Coach]
I take your point. Maybe next year I'll follow your example and head south.

Yeah, I know. This time of year is rough for him. Our dad died suddenly the winter of our fourth year, and Christmas has been specially hard for him since. I always do keep an eye on him. But I reckon he'll be all right by the time we come back in the new year.

[...] I understand the feeling more than. My worry is more about a discussion we had in which I'm afraid I couldn't agree to something he wanted and he seemed to take it badly. Whether that's just exacerbating the usual holiday feelings or I stepped on something else entirely, I'm not sure. But I wouldn't comfortable leaving him like that without having someone else check in on him.

He wanted...a clear season run. To be played for every match this season, Cannons included, so he could have his career goal.
