[Montrose]

A few things to update you all:
- It hasn't been officially announced, but we'll be doing it soon, there's plans for a charity match between a mishmash of the 3 scottish teams the weekend before the vote. Volunteer basis only so don't worry nobody is obligated, it's only if you're interested. More details to come, I promise.
[OOC: I'm assuming Montrose ownership has been talked to before this otherwise he wouldn't have written it]
- Jason's got his annual broom race Solstice Sprint tomorrow (starts 15:41 at sunset in Portree), all the best of luck to you Jason!
- Take the time to relax and have fun this break, but please come back in a single piece and don't do anything that'll give PR a heart attack
- I'll be out of country from Christmas Day. So I'm best reached through journals.

And I won't be able to say this at the Christmas Party so I'll do it in writing.

Spare us all some embarrassment:
We've a half season behind us and I know it's been quite a year, lots of rebuilding, lots of ups and downs. But you've all come through it admirably and it's been a pleasure both to work with you all and see you each grow during even just this brief part of the season.

And look at us, only team left in this league with a perfect undefeated record!

Couldn't be prouder of all of you, both individually and as the team you're becoming. You've done wonderfully.

Happy Holidays to you and yours, and enjoy your break.

I'll see you all at the Christmas Party.

[Florrie]
Nearly forgot to tease you about your Great Love Cavallero (thank the intern for showing me that article). So this is a no for him coming for Christmas?

Speaking of, this year I think we're going to visit the MacFusty side before Christmas. Mainly so we can grab a portkey to Brazil at the end of Christmas Day and still catch Gabi's family for dinner.

She's miraculously managed to put up with me through this year and I want to find a way to thank her for it. Even if it means going through two Christmases.

[Gabi]
I have to tell you this surprise because it's not exactly something I can spring on you last minute but I hope you like it nonetheless:

Double Christmas. Christmas Day with mum, then portkey that night to Brazil in time for Christmas dinner with yours. We'll have to get the littles taking a mid-day nap so they can take the long day and time shift but...how does it sound?

That's because he started against us I'm afraid.

And do you know how you deal with that in young seekers? You throw them into a real match to experience the real thing. She's fresh out of school, this is technically her first season. She's never played a real pro match, how's she to know what it's like?

This will be good for her either way.

I remember it well. They thought he'd outrun me on my broom, but we caught up just fine there.

Point. Bit of a taste of the real thing might teach her a thing or two.

I don't think we've seen enough of his playing to know what to make of him. Big seekers tend to excel when they make things more physical. Referees can't call fouls effectively when both parties are locked together and flying too fast to see. But he hasn't really done that yet.

Besides, I'd like to see how she handles it. Some people thrive, some freeze up from being overwhelmed, some are just always cool as ever. Let's see how the girl does before I throw her at Chudley.

He seems the mellow type rather than the aggressive sort. If anything, it might be possible to lure him into foul situations, especially as he's got about half a foot on me.

Well, you know my opinion on that.

That's my view of him too, but it's an odd style for a player of his size. Even I got into more physical fights for the snitch when it was needed and he has a good half foot on me. But he's still adjusting to this style of League and play, it's not the same in North America. I suspect we'll start to see him improve as he becomes more comfortable here.

Yes, and you know mine. We have more matches this year than we have really any other year and I'm not wasting you on Chudley.

I'm interested in seeing how the pressure affects him. He'll be feeling it, the question is how he channels it.

Just once, once before the end of my career, I'd like to have a shot at a clear season run.

Their quaffle game is pulling them through still. And they certainly needed it to jump the standings back to a playoff spot before that last bloc. We'll see if they find their feet when it comes to the snitch. Right now beating Portree is still about shutting down the quaffle. The snitch we certainly have the upper hand on.

I know, lad. But we have the Neep and playoffs so you'll have plenty more chances to end this season with an impressive and spotless record. But it's also not fair to any reserve to never play them for a full season, no matter how good or uninjured the starter.

They really did make a big jump in one go there. Guess scheduling helped a bit there.

Reserves eventually get their time. It's part of paying their dues on the bench and in friendlies. One clear run - just one - is my career goal. Nobody's managed it since Eunice Murray and even then she had some long times that season.

The chasers came to score and they certainly did. Wimbourne was a mess at the hoops.

When I sign someone to play for a team, I'm promising them a chance to actually play at least once. No matter the position. Keeping Angus on the bench all season would do him no good and would do us no good, but look at him once you give him a chance.

Nobody has managed it since Eunice Murray because nobody has been playing their star seekers for 13 games and a playoff run without a pause. And that's not including the Neep. You either burn out your seeker or you rack up injuries for them. Neither good for winning the cup or the Neep. You can still end this season on a clean record, but if I have to choose between playing you for a regular season match or the Neep...I know where we need you more.

The reserves have time. Starters don't.

It's ONE thing I've asked for, and I never ask for anything. Ever.

Angus is different. Chasers are different.

People bang on about risk but Quidditch is a risk

You don't KNOW bad things will happen and you're prioritising an unproven Seeker's shot, one who has time on her side, over my shot at a legacy.
