Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Emmeline and Remus
WHAT: 'Working' at the Shop
WHERE: Puff Pastries & More
WHEN: Wednesday afternoon
RATING: TBD
STATUS: Incomplete

It was so nice to have someone working book side that she didn't have to worry about. Emmeline was rather impressed with how quickly Remus had caught on with the job. She had to train the last guy for a week before he began to grasp things. Part of her wished that she knew of Remus' secret long before now, then he could have always worked there.

After the usual morning rush for coffee and pastries, the shop began to slow down a bit. It was normal for the middle of the week. Not to mention a lot of people were placing owl orders lately. So as her baking assistant prepared the next days bread, Em made her way over to the book side to check in on Remus.

He had just rang out a customer, and Em smiled as the woman took her bag and headed out of the shop. "How are you holding up?" She grinned as her eyes traveled around her shop. It wasn't long before they fell upon the object of quite a few of her dreams. She had no idea what his name was, or what he did, and it didn't matter. She just enjoyed the view. The man was sitting in one of her over sized chairs reading a book. Licking her lips, Em leaned against the counter and watched him as his eyes traced over the words on the page. "Oh the things I would do to that man..." She grinned a little, her mind already wondering.

Remus already had an opinion of the last person who had worked this job for Emmeline, and it wasn't very flattering. It didn't seem all that difficult to him, but he had always been organised and loved books, so it all seemed very familiar to him even though he hadn't done the job before. He had made a mental note earlier to tell Sirius (gloat, more like) that all those hours in the library that Sirius had deemed a waste were paying off now.

It was work that he enjoyed, and even dealing with the customers wasn't a chore (then again, it was still only his first day). He enjoyed talking about books with them and making recommendations. He had just finished up with a customer when Em came over.

"It's brilliant, it really is," he admitted, grinning as he thought of how his day had been going so far. He absolutely loved it. For the first time since he left school, he felt like a productive member of society, able to contribute to the household and, to be perfectly honest, he felt like a man (though that particular feeling was one he wasn't going to admit to anyone). He was about to go on when he realised Emmeline was distracted and he followed her gaze over to the man whom Remus had noticed his gaze straying to even while he'd helped that woman pick out just the right romance novels to give to her sister in St Mungo's.

"You and me both," he murmured in a low voice before he realised he'd said anything, leaning on the counter beside her to gaze at the man who was thankfully so engrossed in his book that he hadn't noticed he had an audience.

While Emmeline was quite entranced by this man, she still heard Remus' muttering and smirked a little as she raised a brow and looked over at him. "Remus... you naughty little thing!" Grinning, she glanced back towards the man. "I have dibs." A small laugh came from her lips. "He comes in here at least once a week, sometimes more. And he gets a cup of coffee, a muffin and sits there and reads for hours. High light of my week..."

Licking her lips she wondered what the mans hands would feel like on her skin. "Do you think he is single?" She looked to Remus, not wanting to get caught drooling over the man.

Remus' cheeks were pinker when he realised he'd said the thought aloud. Only the Marauders knew about his equal opportunity policy when it came to dating. And probably Lily, he reflected wryly, since he didn't bother censoring himself around her once she joined their little group permanently. It was obvious Emmeline didn't care though, so he tried not to let it bother him.

Arching an eyebrow at her commentary, he glanced at the man, then back to Emmeline. "If he comes in here every week, he's either a creature of habit, or maybe he likes the view too." He winked at her, then looked back at the man in the chair. "No wedding ring. I'd say he's single though. How many men with partners have time to sit here and read? Unless he's escaping an unhappy relationship, I suppose."

Em bit her lip as Remus spoke, taking small glances here and there of the man. "I'm going to go with he is a creature of habit." She sighed and turned her back to the man. "No point in getting my hopes up over anything anyway. It's better to just dream about it and move on." She grinned as she looked over her shoulder at the man for a moment. "And I do dream about him without those pesky clothes on..."

Laughing a little, she looked back to Remus. "So is he the only man you find attractive or are there more?" She teased him a little. Em supposed she could have seen it sooner, but apparently when it came to Remus she missed a lot of things. "Is that why you don't have a girlfriend?"

"Mmmm," Remus hummed in complete agreement to the idea of dreaming about that man with no clothes on. He could see this was going to be a highlight of his week too, and chatting about it with Em was fun too. "No harm in dreaming," he agreed lightly, smiling back at her, and then his blush deepened.

"Not the only one," he admitted with a bit of a chuckle as he looked around the store. "Just the only one in here right now." He shrugged and glanced back at her. "Ha," he said with a dark sort of humour. "You know the reason why I don't have a girlfriend." He wasn't about to say it out loud in public like this, and thought Emmeline would probably get the point.

"None at all..." She grinned, most likely she would dream of him tonight.

"Oh just wait... we get some nice eye candy that strolls through." She smiled again and raised a brow when he stated that she should know why he didn't have a girlfriend. "Wait... what?" She thought about it again, and her eyes got a little wide. "Seriously? You can... is that... are you a virgin?" Her mind was moving far to fast for her to keep up.

"Okay hang on..." She lowered her voice and moved closer to him. "Can you like pass that on from... you know..." She looked down at his crotch for a moment, then back up to his face. "Cause that is really shitty..."

Remus was quiet, waiting for Emmeline to catch up and realise just why he hadn't had a girlfriend. Then the questions started and his eyes nearly fell out of his head. He really should have expected this from Em though. She was the queen of this sort of thing. He shook his head almost immediately, needing to dispel that notion immediately.

"Okay, first of all, please don't look at me down there again," he requested, a smirk on his face along with the look of embarrassment. His voice was low too. The last thing he needed was customers overhearing this, especially Mr Tall, Dark & Handsome over there. "I'm not a virgin. At least, not when it comes to women. And no, you can't pass it on by having sex," he said bluntly. He didn't see the point in playing coy about it. "Biting can though, so I don't do that, obviously."

Em was a little taken back when he told her not to look at him down there again, and pouted a bit. It was like smacking a child's hand away from a toy. She liked to look... Even if he was unaware of it most of the time. Though she had to admit, the thought of him going at it was rather intriguing.

"First off.. you can't stop the fantasizing so don't even try." She winked at him a little and smiled. "And good for you! Cause that could have been really awkward if I had to pop your cherry... It can get messy..." She tried to keep a straight face, but was failing miserably. Turning she laughed and stole another glance at the man reading. SO sexy.

Turning back to Remus she licked her lips and chuckled. "Sorry... you open a door.. I walk through it... Sometimes I just can't help myself. Anyway... back to the topic. So biting eh? What if like... someone bites you but you don't bite them? Or how about scratching?"

Remus straightened up, blinking in bemusement. Fantasies? Seriously? He wasn't sure if he should be disturbed or flattered. And then abruptly the conversation took a turn that Remus would never have expected and for a moment he was utterly speechless. Did Em really just say that? She was laughing, so Remus decided she must have been joking and he let out a shaky laugh himself.

"Remind me to lock that door next time," he joked ruefully, leaning on the counter again, chancing a glance over at their new favourite customer. "Honestly? I don't know. I haven't been in that situation and as I'm sure you can imagine, there are very few books with accurate information in them. And it's not something I'm about to experiment with."

It was becoming apparent to Emmeline, that even though Remus lived in a house with two other boys, sex was obviously not a topic that they discussed openly. Which she found quite odd. Maybe she just assumed that males were much more open than females when it came to talking about it, but she could be wrong.

Taking a peek at the man in the chair, she smiled and bit her lip before glancing to Remus. "Well... not that I am offering up a test subject, but I think it should be something that is looked into further. I would imagine it is rather hard to so carefully control all aspects during a situation like that. As humans, we are already considered mammals, we already have that animalistic instinct. So what happens when you are completely lost in the moment? Free of all thoughts and giving into those instincts? I mean... if you are constantly worried about your every move... your ever action, then you can't possibly be enjoying the experience completely."

She thought about her words for a moment and shook her head as blood rushed to her cheeks. "Wait... I'm not saying.." Laughing nervously, she grinned. "I'm not saying how you should ya know.. It's just. I think everyone should fully enjoy all aspects of life. And I guess I worry that you don't." Hopefully that made some sort of sense to him, or else she was just even more inappropriate than she realized.
