the seventh ☣
Once upon a time, there was a man who had a farm. He had many animals, but he mostly had sheep. He sold the sheep's fleece for money to keep his farm and his family going. He had two sons. Both of them loved the lambs, and played with them during the day. His wife didn't go out very much. She was very ill.
One night, the man had to go out for the night with his fleece to the next town. He counted all of his animals before leaving. He kissed his wife and children goodbye and left. When he returned the next morning, he counted his animals again. One sheep was missing. He scratched his head and went back to work.
One month passed. Again he had to go into town, this time for two days. He counted all of his animals. He kissed his wife and children goodbye and left. When he returned two days later, there were two sheep missing. This time, he was very confused. Was a wolf coming to get their sheep? He had never seen one and did not know.
Two weeks later, he had to go into town once again. But before he kissed his wife and children goodbye, before he counted his animals, he waited in the field in the night. He fell asleep against the post and woke up late in the night. He couldn't count his sheep in the dark, so he went to kiss his wife and children goodbye. His wife's lips were wet, but he didn't mind it. He kissed his children too, and went to prepare himself for the road when he caught sight of himself in the mirror. There was blood on his mouth.
Confused, he went to see if his wife was alright, but all he found was her nightgown on the bed, soaked in blood.
