Lavender left the shop in the hands of her assistants, waving as she walked down the hall to meet Hermione for lunch. She'd been working in the back, going through inventory and ordering slips. Hermione was in the building and they'd made arrangements to meet for lunch and Lavender made her way to the cafeteria to meet her. Once there, she smiled when she saw her friend. It was the first time she was seeing Hermione since she and Kevin had gotten married and she was excited to see her. "Hi!" she grinned, waving toward her.

	Hermione nodded, letting go of Lavender's hand. "I know you are, I just... well, I had to ask. It is incredibly sudden, isn't it?" "Well, Kevin said that he had been saving the ring for Christmas, or something," she grinned as they went to get food. It was cafeteria style, pick what you wanted then pay. Lavender grabbed a tray and started looking for something appealing. "But, I was a little upset and we were talking about our future and... it just happened," she smiled. Lavender's stomach turned a little at some of the food and she couldn't find anything she wanted.

"But, what about you? You haven't told me anything about how things are going with Ron," she smiled over her shoulder, "and it's time you spill."

	Hermione followed behind her, picking up her own tray. It was really romantic, though she couldn't imagine it happening to her. Ron's Mum would kill them both. "That's so sweet." Hermione responded. 	Lavender paused in her hunt for food, turning back to Hermione. "Hermione... that's not a detail," she chided. "Come on, I tell you everthing," she pouted, taking a small bowl of fruit. 	Hermione snorted, reaching for an apple. "The romance is gone? Please, Lavender, you've got it come out of your ears!" She pushed Lavender's tray forward down the line to get to the sandwiches. "Oh, that's definitely romantic," she sighed, grinning as she grabbed her tray again. Her smile faded and she scrunched up her nose at the look of the sandwiches. There was even chicken salad on a crossant, one of her favorites and it just made her stomach turn. "Hmmm, well, when you're ready to tell me more, I'll be ready to listen," she said, walking over to the pay register with her fruit and a bowl of soup and crackers she'd grabbed. "I'll go grab a table," she said.

	"All right." Hermione grabbed a sandwich, some milk, and a cookie, then paid and headed over to where Lavender had picked out a table. "I think... I think I'm falling for him." For Lavender, she couldn't imagine 'Won-Won' in a serious relationship. But then again, she didn't know Ron as an adult. "Oh, that's... wonderful," she grinned. She hadn't spoken to him in a long time. "We should all go out together sometime," Lavender suggested seriously. "Do you think Ron would be OK with that?" she asked aloud. She picked at her fruit, mostly pushing it around, taking a bite from a strawberry.

	Ron went off the beaten path for a bit after the battle at Hogwarts. Hermione considered herself lucky to have him back in her life. "I think so." Hermione said. Might be a bit awkward, but she couldn't imagine it spoiling their time. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Hermione didn't comment on that. She imagined there was a lot about Kevin that Lavender didn't know--and vice versa. How well could one possibly get to know another in such a short amount of time? But they were in love, and would learn everything in time.

Hermione herself had a lot to learn about Ron, too.

"You'll get there." She said. "At least Kevin probably doesn't care much for the Cannons. We won't have to sit and listen to them prattle on about that."

	Who needs talking when there's romance, sex, love, intimacy, togetherness, trust... all those things go hand in hand with marriage. Hermione just hoped some day she'd have them, too. 	"I think it'd be a lot of fun." As long as it wasn't awkward for Ron and Lavender... but Hermione couldn't imagine it would be. Ron was well past that part of his life, wasn't he? 	Lavender felt really uncomfortable, like her stomach was doing flip-flops. "Umm, maybe dinner and... ahh, a club or something," she suggested. "Well, you should have thought of that a few weeks ago when you missed your potion." Hermione couldn't help it. It just slipped out. It was so very Hermione-like.

"I mean, I'm really sorry, but a baby is a blessing! You don't need to worry about money, there's plenty of love to go around... you've got great friends..." She was trying to be helpful now, feeling bad about what slipped.
