Suddenly inheriting half an advanced research lab was not the next big career move I saw for myself.

What's the best coffee place in the Brooklyn area? No one say Starbucks.

I'll be sure to try there, then. Thank you.

Anyone who says Starbucks has clearly never had a decent cup of coffee. That said, it depends on whether you're looking for supplies to make your own at home or whether you'd rather just takeaway. For the former, PS Coffee Tea N Spices is my go-to. For the latter, I really like Penny House Cafe. But some of the best coffee shops are in Manhattan; there's a great one not too far from Avengers Tower that Stuart, Felicity, and I frequent on breaks called Stumptown Coffee Roasters.

Work is close to the tower, so I'll have to try Stumptown for sure.

I probably try all of them, really, until I find a Jitters replacement.

Stumptown is awesome ♥. Best espresso ever.

Good to know. Our espresso machine is terrible.

Is it really the machine that's terrible? :( Or just the beans you're using?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]doctorsnow
2015-07-27 12:17 am UTC (link)
It's the machine. We should really just go get a new one, or try to fix it, but we always forgot/got distracted/put off/it was just easier to go buy espresso at a shop.

That's such a bummer! But yeah I can see the espresso machine being the bottom of the To Do list.

Maybe now I'll just throw it out. Or bother Cisco until he tries to fix it.

Throw it out. Cisco doesn't like to be bothered to fix things like espresso machines.

How did I know you were going to say that. Even if you could probably do it in minutes.

I probably could, but why? Then we'd have to make our own. Fixing that thing in no way benefits me personally.

I'll toss it when I leave later.

Seconding Fair Folks & A Goat on the merit of the monthly membership alone, never mind the quality (which is awesome, anyway).

(Reply to this) (Thread)

[info]doctorsnow
2015-07-27 12:10 am UTC (link)
What's with the membership? Is it just cheaper prices?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]akathekid
2015-07-27 12:13 am UTC (link)
Nooo, it's the fucking best. $25 a month gets you pretty much free unlimited coffee, tea, and lemonade, invites to like tastings and other events, and discounts on other merch. I just dig the unlimited coffee, personally.

[info]doctorsnow

Oh my god. I would save so much money on coffee.

I mean, as long as you like coffee and not, like, espresso drinks, then yeah. Hell yeah. I save a shitload.

I'm good with both, personally.

I don't drink the espresso stuff, so I don't know if you get discounts, but it's definitely not free with membership, I know that much.

Noted. Thanks for the tip. Unlimited coffee alone is a huge draw.

Hey, no problem. In Manhattan, because I saw you mention being there a lot, too, I personally recommend La Colombe.

I'm Adam, by the way. And you are hot af.

Caitlin. Good to meet you, Adam.

Likewise. I'm guessing you're newish around here; how are you settling in?

Very new. I think there's only a couple who've arrived after. I'm taking it one day at a time, I guess. That's bbst I can do right now.

Once you find a niche here, it gets so much easier.

That's basically what I keep hearing. I'm not sure I believe it, but I'll find out.

I didn't believe it at first, either, if that makes you feel any better, but I've found it to be true. At least to some capacity.

Trust me, so was I. But this place isn't so bad most of the time.

[info]doctorsnow

I have less of an issue with the place, and more of an issue with how it takes you away from people.

Yeah, that's my issue, too. I miss my friends and my sister.

Fiancé. I never considered traveling between dimensions a threat to a wedding. But this place as proven me very wrong.

There's this great little hole in the wall a few blocks down from my club on Lincoln, you should definitely check it out.
