Hey! It's Nye. I just wanted to say that Uzume is back. This time, her name is Areum Sagong, Amatsu-Mikaboshi's aunt. And, yes, they're only four years apart. So, they're more like cousins or friends. And she still loves her big brother. They just have nothing in common.

She's getting her M.F.A. in dance and works part-time at the Wellness Center as a receptionist. She's been here since this summer. Before that, she was in LA doing her dance thing in various music videos, movies, TV shows, commercials, where ever she could get money. Before that, she was touring around the world with her dance troupe for two years. She got her B.F.A. at Monte, so professors, students, and others who were here from 2005-2009 can know her.

She's more outgoing, brash, will make rash or hasty decisions, and more of a sexual being than before. She doesn't really open up to people, but she'll be there for others. She's not a selfish person. You can read more about her here.

Okay... So, this guy is Hector or Ian Ostermann. He's here because his wife is a professor (Anthropology). She's been here since last semester, so feel free to know her. He came over in March, but he's been seen on campus more this summer, because he got a job in the maintenance department. Part-time only. He will be a freshman in the fall! Again, part-time.

The reason why he's 30 and a freshman is because he was in the Marines. Fighting oversees. He came home because he was ordered to. He left the Marines because he loves his wife (and son - 3 years old) and now it's her turn to pursue her dream. It's not exactly easy to go from Gunnery Sergeant to Mr. Mom. It's also not easy for him to speak about being Hector. You just don't talk about that stuff in the Marines (or at least he didn't). But he's going to try!

Powers? He's a great fighter. He can't beat Ares, but he can win against others. People listen to him, and he doesn't even have to try. But that depends on how well a person likes him. Achilles isn't going to care what this guy says. And, he can't get any minor cuts and scrapes.

The only person he knows at Montenegro is Eve, whom he was neighbors with during their childhood. He's looking forward to meeting everyone else. he's scared of apples, gets sad around gardens, can't stand anything long and flaming, and friggin' hates snakes.

He's also studying to be a lawyer. (I know, right?)

His powers are:

First and Foremost: Adam always wins competitions that are won by being the 'first' to do something, as long as he had a chance to begin with. He can't, say, beat Ares in a fight, or Hermes in a race, but if he could conceivably best someone in anything in which one has to be 'first', he will, even if they're Olympic athletes, for example.

Getting His Way: Adam tends to get his way. He's charming, unapologetic, and thoroughly insufferable, but he still manages to convince people --especially women-- that he should get what he wants. This power doesn't work very well on incarnates or non-mortals, but normal mortals bend like reeds in the wind.

Prime Specimen: Adam's in prime physical health. In fact, he's always been in prime physical health. He's as healthy as a man of his age can possibly be; healthier, even. Every test comes back perfect. There is nothing wrong with him at all. It's uncanny. Doctors his entire life have been baffled by his total lack of physical problems. He still gets sick, mind you, but he recovers with startling alacrity, and even incurable mortal diseases don't tend to last too long. (...supernatural afflictions, on the other hand.)

This is also my first character here, so I should introduce myself! I'm Manu, short for Manuel. I'm from so far down South that when I flush the toilet, the water goes the other way! (Gasp!) I really like to push my characters to their limits and I absolutely do not hold back IC. Also, my being here is Jill's fault.

Hello! This is Nye. And this is Yu Jin.


She is also Chang'e. She was as curious as Pandora, and it got her a one way ticket to the moon.

Yu Jin was born in Korea to Korean parents then moved to China, Hunchun to be specific. Both parents work, and they are a lower class family. She has a younger sister who will join her soon. They get along when they get along, don't when they don't. Typical sister stuff. Her life has been pretty normal despite what a couple of her powers can do to her. She realized who she was when chasing a hare. She is a grad student (3rd year) studying Astronomy, and is a TA in the intro/gen ed Astronomy classes. She also works part-time at the Black Mountain Bed & Breakfast. She needs a roommate or two, which she will be asking about in game. She's been here since freshman year, so feel free to know her. Sheli, Bakeneko can still be an ex-boyfriend, yes? And she will be friends with the people already talked about on monte_extras.

For the personality side of things, Yu Jin is friendly, outgoing, and very much thinks like this:


She's seen a lot of romantic comedies/dramas in her day. She's also curious like crazy, hangs on to people/clingy, and can be selfish and jealous about objects and people. Yu Jin likes to be in a crowded room, but she's constantly wondering what they think of her. Also, she gets a bit lonely when not around people. And her biggest fear is dying.

As for her powers:

GLOWING: Yu Jin glows. It's a whitish glow, like the moon in the dark sky. People can only see her glow in dark places like a darkened room or at night. The lighter the darkness is, the harder it is to see it.

FLOAT ON: She can also float. It's only after she eats. She can't float far away like she did before, but she will hover two feet off the ground. She can also walk while floating, it's just harder to do than having feet on solid ground. It will take her an hour after eating for her to come back down.

BEAUTY: Yu Jin can make others beautiful for 24 hours. This happens through touch and people have to ask her for it, and she doesn't ask for anything in return. However, she doesn't gloat about this power, but there are a few people she will tell, so word can spread. After she touches someone, the person will become a more beautiful version of themselves. Blemishes, cuts, moles, a crooked nose, anything that might distract from the person's beauty will disappear or be repaired for those 24 hours.

That guy is Kappa AKA Kazuo Nishimura, cousin to Ren and Ayumi Ito. He was raised by his father, because his mother wasn't reliable and she pretty much took one look at him and ran. It could be because he has webbed hands and feet. Who knows. Kazuo doesn't care. He's had a fine time with his dad.

He lives off campus (currently without roommates, so if you're a guy, step on up...ladies need not apply). He's in the Pre-Physical Therapy track (going to be a senior this fall). He's in MMA, wrestling, and swimming. He has taught himself to hold his breath underwater for 7 minutes. Um... his personality is pretty long, but he's mischievous (will play pranks, fart around people, anything for instant gratification), has dark thoughts about women and children (will make children cry, and want to do not nice things to women), has killed a few small animals in his time, fights men (but not all the time), and will steal from anyone. Despite this, Kazuo is polite. He's also something of a coward. He's an average kid at school, except for medical classes, but will play dumb (unless it relates to anything medical or MMA, wrestling, or swimming...then he brags, showboats). He does like to be around people, but he doesn't get close to anyone, because he can be the bad guy. (It's something he struggles with daily.)

His power are:

He can become hydrated faster than normal people, so he's always seen with water or in water.

Give him a cucumber and ask him to do something and he'll have to do it. Or make him promise you something. That works too. It'll be done within 24 hours. And you can't make him kill/hurt himself.

He can drain people's and animal's energy. It's through skin to skin contact, and Kazuo has to actively think about draining their energy. He also has to hold on to the person continuously. It can't be a quick touch and the other person is suddenly drained of their energy. Also, this doesn't kill someone.

Please do not be alarmed if you see this fellow commenting around -- inconveniently arriving mid-plot is my LAST CHARACTER I SWEAR TO GOD: Theodore Adler / Thor, a 20-year-old military undergrad specialising in engineering. His twin sister is Desiree/Nimue (enchantingnymph), so he's from the same backwater Canadian mining town -- Theo is a quintessential jock, very well-intentioned and friendly, and veeeeery financially poor but hard-working. Just picture an enormous 6'5" clean-cut small-town boy, and you've got him in a nutshell. He also seesaws between Canadian politesse and Thor's RAGING TEMPER, so that's a bit of a problem -- Thor didn't manifest until he was already in high school, so he quite actively struggles against his reincarnate identity. Theo is a bit too conservative and closed-minded and has a white knight complex, which is more annoying and chauvinistic than it's endearing. But he is a gentleman when he dates, and a bit of a flirt, soooo any ex-girlfriends out there?

Hi! I'm Chelsea! I'm a 20-year-old Religious Studies & Philosophy double major/swing dancer/runner/lifeguard/tutor, what have you. I waste a lot of time.

This is Athena/Harlow Cadell (full name Matilda Harlow Cadell, but she hates Matilda). She's finishing up her first year in the Government graduate program, with an emphasis on games and strategy. She is, hopefully, living off-campus with War, Skadi, and Hypnos, if those players don't mind. She is, being a reincarnation of the Goddess of wisdom, a huge know-it-all. She's an impeccable advice-giver, although her weakness is interpersonal relationships. She loves studying and a well-executed (and necessary) battle. Her most notable ability is her 'undivided' attention ability, which, provided it's not during a fight or some other exceptionally pressing interaction, allows her to force people to listen to her and only her.

Harlow does Cross Country Running, Fencing and Chess club, and would love acquaintances/friends/people to interact with. She has a tendency to royally screw things up socially, so if anyone wants to take her under their wing and befriend her despite her tendency towards bluntness and arrogance, that'd be lovely (she is an excellent friend). She isn't particularly interested in romantic entanglements, but if someone impressive/interesting/intelligent enough for her (she has high standards), male or female, came along, she has the potential to fall hard. It's Emma! First, I apologize for being kind of slow this week. My Mom is visiting and she's pretty cool, so I've been hanging out with her. She's awesome like that.

Secondly, this is Lethe! She is the daughter of Eris, the personification of forgetfulness/oblivion, and associated with the Underworld river of the same name. She goes by Paloma Eastman in this life and is just finishing up her first year of graduate school in art history, specifically modern art. She TAs Intro to Art History! She works at Teavana in the mall! She knows sign language! Blah, blah, blah. Her abilities are minor hydrokinesis and memory removal. Don't worry! The memory removal isn't permanent, though she isn't aware of that. As a result, she's a bit afraid to touch people too long. Everything you ever wanted to know about her can be found here.

This is Seungwon. Yes, the Seungwon. Minjung's Seungwon. He was at UCLA, but decided to come to MU, a process that took a while because he doesn't jump into anything without thinking about it for a while. Unless it's something along the lines of what to eat for dinner. He's the opposite of Minjung, and is fine being on the sidelines with a smile. Seungwon tries to be a joker sometimes, but he's really not. He has a sense of humor, but his more serious side doesn't like to see him make a fool of himself. Anger is an easy emotion to portray for him other than happiness.

He's Mug Ruith, but he doesn't know this. He just knows it has to be someone powerful because he likes the feel of the power he gets being a project or club leader. It's really the only time when he'll take the reigns on something, become outspoken. His powers include growing to 8 feet. This happens at least once a week. Like a good stretch. There is no control over this. He can make people freeze like a stone statue if he's angry. He has no control over this either. If he's angry about a class, then talks to someone, it can happen. It only lasts an hour. Still, he's very sorry about that. What he does have control over is his parlor trick, making water or water based liquids disappear. He's happy to show this to anyone.

He's also blind. He's big on rights for those who are gay and those with disabilities, which means he's in LGBT Club and STAnD (Students Talking About Disabilities), where students with disabilities advocate for themselves and others. Those without disabilities are welcome to join too. I'll be making a club dealie for that soon. He doesn't like being helped because of his disability, even if someone is just being nice. It rubs him the wrong way.

Hiya guys! Rory again, with a hopefully quick introduction to someone you may have seen popping up in comments here and there. There is a reason for that: I was sleepy, and an intro post seemed like an unassailable mountain I didn't want to scale. But now I have a cup of tea and some crumpets, and it doesn't seem as terrifying. So, to the main event: this delightful woman is Professor Meredith Cadogan-Snow, chair of the Department of Anthropology and all-round massive nuisance. Formally, she is Lady Meredith, Marchioness of Lothian and Countess Cathcart, which makes her just enough of a noblewoman to really care about it and make sure everyone else cares about it too. She's an ancient old crow, as bitter and sharp as a lemon full of razorblades - unfortunately, she's ALSO the reincarnation of the Egyptian goddess of vengeance, Sekhmet. She's very tall for a lady at 6'3", and likes to intimidate people: something incredibly easy due to the nature of her powers (which I'll come to in a second)

A bit of background on her: she's 82, an archaeologist who was very noteworthy in her time - she won a Nobel Prize about fifty years ago and most of the required readings on her archeology class were written by her. It's really easy to become a famous Egyptologist when you clearly remember the locations of all those lost temples, because you were there when they dedicated them to you. She wasn't always a dry old sow: if you remember the bit in Titanic at the end, where the camera pans over all those photos of things Kate Winslet did? That's basically Meredith's life: fading memories of ballooning over the Sahara, of kayaking one-woman up the Nile, of myriad nights in perfumed tents with nameless men... Anyway, that's a long time ago. These days she's a bitch, and pretty much the only people she doesn't hate with a passion are her grandchild (who, by the way, would be AWESOME to see in-game!) She's a product of the last days of the British Empire, and will staunchly defend it - just like she staunchly assumes anything she personally believes in is right.

So, powers: much like your typical old lady, her breath can kill you (no, really). She can shapeshift into a lioness, and does this frequently - usually to chase students she doesn't particularly like. Whilst, for the most part, she does this to students from her classes that she considers 'foolish' (i.e. most of them), do feel free having had your character chased by her at some point for some perceived slight or other. AND FINALLY (and most importantly for some of you) "Any reincarnation that could be described as ‘hostile’ (which naturally includes your demons, your adversaries, your underworld denizens and tricksters) is affected by an aura of palpable horror in Sekhmet’s presence. In Meredith’s presence, any reincarnation of an ‘evil’ being will be overcome with a niggling sense of fear, rising exponentially the longer they spend with her. Eventually the desire to flee will become overpowering." So yeah -- I imagine that won't make her many friends either. AURA OF TERROR, EVIL ONES.

So, in summary, Professor Sekhmet is here to poke her nose into your business, to make your day measurably worse and to make no friends whatsoever. Her profile is here and she is eager to make your acquaintance. Whether that eagerness is reciprocated is...unlikely.

It's Nye! All that love produced this guy, Váli AKA Eli.

He's Odin's son, the one who was born just to kill Höðr for accidentally killing Baldr. Eli knows this, but he doesn't talk about it openly. He hates that he was only born because of the need for revenge. He has read that it was necessary, but it still doesn't make it easy for him.

As for the rest of Eli, he's a devout Christian. He attends church every Sunday, attends Prayer Circle, and does his own daily devotions. His father is the Youth Paster back home (just outside of Denver), and Eli was a part of the choir. Yes, he does hand out Bibles and pamphlets, but he doesn't push it in your face if you don't want one. He is confused as to why he's Váli and why God brought him back. Or even how that all works out. (And where he'll end up.)

Death has been on his mind for a while. His mother had cancer and then passed away just after his high school graduation. So, he stayed home for a year and took care of his father and three siblings (two sisters and a brother, all younger), which is why he's a 20 year old freshman.

He's thinking about Political Science or Biology (Pre-med), but hasn't decided. Throughout school he was in Judo, but is now in MMA. It's a stress reliever, and he handles himself pretty good despite being a thin 6'1" guy.

Because of his powers, he is a great marksman, and he will avenge those who are harmed physically. It could be as simple as a stern talking to up to a beat down. It is very much in conflict with his Christian side.

Eli is brave, protective, will offer advice and can be a nag, will use proverbs and idioms in every day conversations, does try to look on the bright side of life, very competitive and loves to win, can be a bit naive or misled in certain situations, and is scared of school, women, and death. With school, he's afraid of failing out and can't stand getting that B when he could have gotten an A (and will bug professors about extra credit and such). With women, he can't really talk to them if he finds them attractive unless it's online or he has his trusty guitar. Yep, he's THAT college guy. The one with the guitar in the quad strumming along to Oasis. It's also a stress reliever. Oh! And he's a total dork. (Not a nerd, because he's not super smart.) Hi there! Sorry that this introduction is a little late (although how appropriate that it's a Wednesday) - potential (positive) job prospects had sought to waylay me at the worst possible time. They are, however, all sorted now and I am ready to throw myself at you with almost inappropriately wild abandon! My name is Rory, I think I know some of you, but for the purposes of this post I am a new and mysterious stranger. I'm 25, I'm English and I own the western hemisphere's largest collection of ceramic pigs. So! Now that's out of the way, allow me to introduce one Mr Jameson Lockheed Daniels - formerly known as Odin, Allfather of the Norse. He prefers to go by Jack if possible, at least until he starts going by "Mr President"...and that should tell you all you need to know about how well he's fitting into his new skin. Jack, a Political Science student, is something of a born patriarch: usually stern, mostly wise and a little dismissive of people who don't want to do what he tells them (which, let's face it, is pretty much everyone when you're eighteen). He's a freshman, a very driven freshman, and is probably a little bit full-on until you get to know him. He tries! Oh, he tries bur when you're the All-Father, you don't get much of an opportunity to practise your people skills. He's deliberate, he's thoughtful, he doesn't give you an answer until he's sure of it - but then try changing his mind and boy, you've got an uphill climb. He can be ruthless, and less than honorable: they didn't call him the Oathbreaker for nothing.

He loves to keep secrets - such as the secret of who he really is. But come on, the boy is blind in one eye, has an obvious affinity for the 'out' Norsemen and he's a short freshman tromping around like he owns the place: who isn't going to be able to work it out in fairly short order?

Clubs! He's in the Ballroom Dancing club, LGBT club...and the Fight club. What? He's a complicated man, Auntie(!)

Is there anything I've missed? I'm almost sure of it - it's in the mid-20s, so I'm sitting in the garden with a mimosa and a pepperoni pizza, listening to Johnny Cash. It's Nye again. This is Nicholas Craine AKA Sir Agravaine. It rhymes. He does not like that. So feel free to tease him about it. Also, he's not a Nick. His name is Nicholas. He's better than you. His info is here.

He's 32. From Berkshire, England. Went to Eton College. Was in the the British Army. Not in it anymore because he was hit so bad by enemy fire/bombs, he has a metal rod in his leg (femur). This causes him to limp sometimes. It can get painful. Ladies, he's got scars. (Explained in bio.) He drinks; you can call him a high-functioning alcoholic. It's to combat the PTSD (undiagnosed since he won't talk about it). He smokes. Because he can. He went to Oxford. Came to Montenegro for graduate school and to work toward his Ph.D. He will become a professor. Currently, he teaches an introductory History class. His specialty is Military History, but likes all History. (Want to see him act like a school boy? Get him talking about history. Then he'll hate you for doing that to him, but that's okay.)

He's on his eleventh life. Has come to hate Agravaine. It's because of him he's repeating life after life. And the fact he won't live past 50 pisses him off. An arrogant ass who will get what he wants by any means. Don't insult him or he'll come back with something. He'll hold the grudge, come at you when you least expect it. Dry humor; doesn't laugh at things much anymore. He does have a heart, but doesn't really want to get close to a woman, marry, have kids because he'll just die on them. Doesn't think that's right. He will protect his family and close friends. Respects those who served. And stays close to professional contacts and mentors.

The powers. He is compelled to help those in need. It can't say no or walk away. He's tried. There has been instances where he's helped old ladies cross the street. If there is a burning building and someone's dog is still in the house. He will have to go save the dog. He is also handsome, so women are captivated by this. Men can be too, but women more. It's like women get an instant crush on him.

He came to America in 2010, so he's fairly new, but he'll know anyone from that time to now. So, feel free to know him, give him a "friend" or a real friend. Since he's not a fan of Agravaine, he won't go spreading that around, but if the characters have known each other for a while or if in the Arthurian pantheon, then maybe they know? I dunno. We'll talk.

Hello, all! It's Nye. And this is Demeter or Laura Schreiber.

She is Flauros' older sister. (She's 28, but will soon be 29 in 5 days.) Because of her brother's poking and prodding, she applied and got into grad school for Nutrition and Dietetics. She hasn't started yet; the summer semester marks her return to the academic setting. She decided to come out to Montenegro early. She has a small apartment and works at Olive Our Gardens, a nursery. She loves to garden, and will have some kind of fruit, vegetable, and herb growing somewhere.

She knows she's Demeter, but it was a recent discovery (about three years ago). She was hospitalized for severe depression after the sudden death of her two month old son, and that is when everything came flooding in. It was the first time she was hospitalized for her depression. When she was a teenager, she was diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder, but none of the treatments helped. After realizing who she was, she figured out why she was depressed during the fall and winter months.

She is divorced. They tried, but their marriage couldn't survive the death of a son and Laura's talks of being Demeter among other things.

Her powers include listening to plants (they don't speak to her, but somehow she knows when they need to be watered, pruned, picked, etc.), being effected by the seasons (this happens gradually; she won't wake up one morning and BAM! depressed...right now, she's starting to come out of her winter depression...and the plants around her will feel it too...it's explained better in her app), and she makes the best damn breads ever. And she shares.

I'm not going to say much more, but Laura is fun (she doesn't like parties but smaller outings), loves the outdoors (playing in the dirt is a good thing), a girly-girl (she likes to get dressed up and will cry from watching animal creulty commercials), stubborn (when she puts her foot down, she means it), can get crazy angry (mess with her brother and find out), can't flirt or pick it up in others, and can get lost while driving.

I haven't done this kind of thing in awhile, so bear with me. I'm Alex, and I think there's another of me here, which isn't uncommon in my life, but unusual online, soooo... Hello, all! This is Nye, and I'm just popping in to say I picked this lovely lady up.

She's Bethany, Beth, or Hel. She doesn't care which you call her. She's a little creepy as she will be seen walking or sitting around campus talking to the dead. Or nodding. Or smiling. It's a half smile. Her actual smile looked like Mr. Bing's here:



But it looks more like a smile now.

Her mother and father both didn't exactly want her, so she didn't get a lot of love. People in school weren't the kindest because she didn't act like everyone else, so she got angry. And snarky. And passive aggressive. And lonely. She'll yell back at people, but she won't fight them. She'll then turn it all on her or inanimate objects. She tries talking to at least one person a week without all the snark and anger, but it ends up being someone online more often than not. And people are only nice to her because they're up to something. Or so she believes. HAPPY!!! XDDD people scare her. She likes video games, especially first person shooters. She will also "stalk" people to feel like she's hanging out with them. She gives to charity because that's what she was told to do way back when (share her provisions). She does like the fact that the dead talk to her and she talks to them. Oh! She also changes this dark purplish color (like bad frostbite) at night. Every night. From sundown to sunup, so there's no hiding it.
