Thanksgiving is definitely in the air. While I find the history of the holiday to be problematic, I do enjoy a big meal with family and friends.

Not those kinds of holidays. That's what birthdays are for. Weddings. Why would we need a holiday for it? Besides, you can do that every Sunday afternoon. Well, unless you have my father as the head of family.

Yes. That's what Thanksgiving is all about. But don't worry, I won't be cooking it all myself.

Not everyone has Sunday afternoons off of work, though. It's nice that it's a national holiday. More people have the time off of work to travel, to visit family, to eat, drink, and be merry.

...am I seriously arguing in favor of a holiday I'm not crazy about?
