Who: Scott Lang and Kate Bishop
What: Late Night Snack
When: Sunday night
Where: Kitchen
Status/Rating/Warning: In Progress/low/None

They were finally home. (Funny how this place was already starting to feel like home... even though they were in a different world from her true home.) It felt like ages and ages that they'd been on that ship, even though it hadn't really been that long. They'd been eating freeze-dried and canned foods for most of the trip, and the first thing Kate wanted when they arrived home was something fresh. Fruit, vegetables, cheese, whatever.

So after all of the hubbub, the ship arriving home, the zombies(??) and arrivals home from the Barbie world (Kate wasn't lying when she said she was jealous. She'd make an amazing Barbie), the birthday party, the dinner, the whatever... Kate headed to the kitchen to dig herself out a snack. Or two. Or three.

There were crisp, green grapes and strawberries, baby carrots and celery, and cubes of cheddar cheese. She put together a plate with the goodies and stood for a moment, debating where to go to eat her snack.

"Same here," Scott said. "But then again, I was a pretty headstrong kid. I have no idea how my parents handled me."

"Is that where Cassie gets it?" Kate asked, grinning. She was certainly headstrong.

"I think the best people are headstrong. And the best parents raise headstrong kids."

"You're flattering me." The edge of Scott's lips curled into a slight smile as he finished off the rest of his beer.

"I should get back to bed," he said. "Thanks for sharing your snack with me."

Kate blushed. "Yeah, I should, too." They'd finished the snacks and the beer, and now Kate was feeling sleepy.

She climbed up from the sofa, collecting the plate and the bottles to carry into the kitchen. "Believe me, the pleasure's all mine."

A little grin tugged at the corner of her lips. "But you still owe me a dinner. I haven't forgotten. This doesn't count." She gave him a wink.

"Next Friday, 7 PM," Scott said, rising to his feet. "I'm not going to make you wait any more than you have already."

"Next Friday it is." Kate felt her cheeks growing a little warm, but nodded with a smile. "I'm looking forward to it."

With that, she headed into the kitchen to put things away before going to bed. There may have been a little bounce in her step.
