PLOT TIME: Riddle Me This Part 1
[Since Bruce Banner guessed the answer to the riddle, the power has shut off!
Power is off throughout the facility. The network runs off its own independent generator, as does everything in the labs (so portals are still operating fine and people can communicate).

But, the rest of the place is without lights, entertainment, and the worst of all, the food may spoil.

Tony will be working on this right away. Power will be restored before midnight!

Darcy cursed from her seat in the Lounge. She was about to head up to see Thor when the lights went out. There hadn't been a storm, there hadn't been anything and FRIDAY would have said something about a power fluxuation. Wouldn't she?

Glancing down at the STARKpad in her hand, she moved from the line she'd been writing to Tony and added a new one 'What he hell just happened?' hoping to get some answers and wondering to herself why there wasn't some kind of generator backup.

"Friday? You there?" she asked, but there was no reply. The AI was down, linked to the power.

Using her phone as a light, Darcy padded into the communal kitchen and started going through cabinets looking for flashlights. Thankfully it was April and it wasn't too cold outside, but this was upstate New York, it would probably cool down as it got even later...

"Okay... One... two... three... Three flashlights and more than three people. If I were Stark... where else would I hide flashlights and emergency gear?" she asked no one in particular.

Well, the power going out was certainly mildly concerning. Especially since to Wanda's knowledge, there was at least a backup generator in the compound that kicked in on the rare occasions when the power did go out. At least in her version of the world.

Being in another world so close to hers yet so different was awfully frustrating at times.

Wanda made her way into the kitchen, conjuring a small burst of red energy to light her way. Eventually, she found Darcy rummaging through the cabinets.

Did the Darcy in this world know her? She couldn't keep track.

"Do you need some help looking?" she asked, tenderly stepping into view.

Thankfully the person behind her didn't sneak up on her, which would have caused Darcy to jump and likely bang her head on the cabinet. Instead, turning, she saw a familiar face - whom Darcy had yet to meet in person. That of Wanda Maximoff.

"If that's a serious offer, I would seriously take you up on it," she replied, the smile on her face visible in the light of the flashlight in her hand.

"Never thought that we'd need flashlights in a facility like this, but at least it's good that someone thought ahead to get them!" She sighed. "It's Wanda right?"

Wanda was certainly glad that she didn't startle Darcy. With the power off, she wouldn't want to be responsible for the other woman injuring herself.

Wanda gave Darcy a small smile. "It certainly is," she said, "I'm happy to help wherever I can."

Alright. So Darcy didn't know her here. And Wanda was surprisingly okay with that. She didn't want to worry about Darcy disliking her after recent events in her own world. "It is," she said, "And you're Darcy, right? Thor's friend?"

She wrinkled her nose. "To my knowledge, there is at least one backup generator. But perhaps it hasn't kicked on yet."

"Welcome to the emergency supply location team!" Darcy answered with a sincere look. She would have been holding out her hand if she weren't holding the cabinet open with one and the flashlight in the other. "I figure there should be more around here somewhere."

The question was where. Closing the cabinet she'd just checked, Darcy nodded at Wanda's question. "Yep, that's me. Who knew that tasing a god was the way to make friends," she smirked but it fell a moment later. "Yeah, it's supposed to but Tony says it's offline too. The Lab's still up and running so the Portal's safe, but the rest of us are going to be in the dark until Tony gets the power back up."

Wanda couldn't help but give a chuckle. "I feel honored to be part of such a distinguished team," she said, opening a cabinet next to Darcy to search. As she did so, the little ball of red energy in her hand seemed to float to her side as to allow her to search with both hands.

"I'm sure Thor must have thought it was a display of bravery," she said, grinning a bit, before furrowing her brow. "That's very strange. I'd try and use my powers to jumpstart them, but I wouldn't want to accidentally blow anything up." Though she now had a considerable amount of control over her powers than she used to since tapping into her full potential, she didn't want to risk hurting anyone or anything.

"Once he woke up probably. This was after we hit him with the van. Dude fell from out of the sky," She shrugged, searching another cabinet. "Seemed a logical thing to do at the time."

Glancing over her shoulder at Wanda, Darcy's looked her over seemingly impressed. "On any other day, I would pay to see something that awesome! But you're probably right," she sighed. "Oh for the days when we could get away with cool stuff like that. Not that I could do stuff like that. I think the coolest thing I ever did as a kid was not die jumping off the second floor of Jake Holder's house into his pool."

	Diana likes May's idea, particularly Pepper's making drinks. She uses this as female bonding time. She asks Pepper if they should take anything to Tony. Diana is used to not having electricity. Carol wasn't even drunk when she suggested it as a half-hearted joke. She was having fun and while the lights being off were a little concerning, Tony seemed to insist he would handle it and let them know if they were needed.

Pepper took her seriously, though, and announced that Tony happened to have a battery-operated machine Somewhere for reasons. Carol didn't stop her from busting out the machine, sipping her Margaretta happily, and enjoying having a chance to semi-relax for once. She was pushing 60, she was going to enjoy this.

Even if she had asked for it, Carol wasn't going to be the first to go up and sing. "I need a few more of these for that."

That didn't mean it wouldn't happen, but she was pretty sure someone with more vocal chops with her should go first.

John was outside feeding his nasty nicotine habit when the power went out. He ducked inside, flicked a switch a few times just to make sure and then headed back outside again, figuring that someone else was working on resolving the problem.

After a while, John decided to set himself up outside, finding a reclining garden seat and a trash can that he magically lit a fire in. He relaxed back, smiling and humming along to the tune when the karaoke started up inside.

Parties weren't Bucky's thing. He would have just as happily gone to sleep, but the noise and his thought were too much for him. So, he did what he sometimes did late at night. He wondered.

And he found another man sitting outside next to a lit trashcan, smoking a cigarette and looking content enough.

Heading over, his hands in his jacket pockets, he nodded to the fire and remarked. "You know, I hear there got perfectly good firepits for that kind of thing."

It was a half-joke. See? Bucky could be friendly!

John shook the other man's hand briefly in introduction before dropping his hand back in his lap. "Which do you prefer to be called?" He asked, nodding toward the other chair as a silent invitation to join him.

Glancing in the direction of Bucky's nod, John shrugged and turned his attention back. "Not particularly. I find one has to be in the right mood for being social."
