Pureblood Wizards Invitational - European Cup
Who: Any pureblood wizards coming to the meeting
When: August 19, 2020 - midmorning.
Where: Private hexed tent (Set up and protected with a Fidelius Charm)
Status: In-progress

The nice thing about providing for the cabal, Nigel reflected, was that he had no fear of arriving late. The tent they were to be meeting within had been set up the night before, and as it hadn't been used enough to acquire the usual buildup of junk that occurred with such things, it had taken only a small bit of spellwork to get the place all shipshape and ready: a simple meeting hall, with a door at either end. One to outside, one to the hall--clean and simple, just the way things needed to be. At the end opposite the door to outside, a fire burned in the hearth. The hall was monopolized by a large mahogany table, high-backed chairs set on either side of it. Just as he remembered, just as he'd always seen.

Of course, his own appearance was probably never a part of that image. His shirt wasn't tucked in, his boots ran up to his knees, and his hair hadn't been so much as trimmed in months (at least he'd seen fit to make sure his facial hair was at least presentable). A gigantic hat sat on his head, declaring his allegiance to Puddlemere United, dark blue and singing its heart out silently (he'd decided that perhaps the Puddlemere fight song wasn't perhaps the best mood to begin the meeting in).

Still, he would keep it with him until they were about to begin.

With the time for the meeting to begin fast approaching, Nigel took a seat at the head of the table, resting one leg up on the table.

They would be coming soon.

Silence reigned over the room for a long moment while Beckett's words were contemplated by all parties involved. Finally, Bowen was the one to speak, shaking his head in awe. "So that's that, then," he said aloud, glancing over to Beckett again. "Should've known you'd be the one to come up with this, love."

At the far end of the table, Nigel was staring intently at his steepled fingers, the thoughts racing in an effort to come to a conclusion before another idea could be started. It was hardly what he'd been hoping to see--he'd been hoping to see the next generation of Death Eaters, begun anew!--but... it did have promise.

Perhaps not having one group to attribute the murder to would make it harder on the Aurors. Not being able to find the insurgents responsible would allow them more freedom--without a Mark to hide, they would walk the streets fearless, confident, the Ministry unable to touch them.

Still... the idea of attempting to instill a fear of Muggles, of all sorts, made Nigel's lip curl just so slightly. It was obvious that they would hardly be able to make these sorts of plans... but then again, it was possible he was simply not giving them enough credit. If one were to look back at the history of the world and see all the bloody wars Muggles had caused... But it was demeaning, to allow them the fear that would rightfully belong to this group, he and those about him.

Perhaps it was that that had been the Death Eaters' downfall. A sense of pride, as it were. Hubris. Hmm. It was an angle that required further thought.

In spite of his thoughts, Nigel spoke not a word, turning his attention back to the conversation of the table and reserving judgment for whatever was decided upon by the rest of them all.
