WHO: Luke Smith, Blair Waldorf, Kibeth, Sam Winchester
WHAT: Racquetball
WHEN: Day 30, afternoon
WHERE: Where ever the racquetball court is set up, lol
RATING: PG
STATUS: Incomplete

Luke had left his room to wander around a bit, checking out the new resort. He wanted to learn more about exactly how everything had just changed shape. He wished he could talk to the planet directly, ask it questions, but that didn't seem to be possible.

On returning, Luke found a note in front of his door. Curious, he read it. Apparently he was supposed to do to the racquetball court, meet two other people there, and play with them. "Don't you need either two or four people to play racquetball though...?" he thought out loud. Maybe they weren't supposed to really play using the rules and just hit the ball around instead like when Clyde and he would kick a football (a soccer ball, he thought to himself, remembering the American word for it) around when they were on their own. Oh well.

Luke dutifully left a note for Sarah Jane, stuck it under her door, and went over to the main resort, walking around until he found the racquetball court. He walked over to where the racquets where and picked one up, grabbing a ball and attempting to keep it bouncing while he waited for the others.

Blair was definitely in a happier mood when she awoke to find the sun out and the snow gone. However, when she spotted the note, her good mood was quick to disappear. She wasn't an exceptionally sporty girl, despite the amount she did in school, but recently she had taken to staying indoors and doing less strenuous things. But she knew she'd have to go, and waited until the right time, before heading over. There was already someone there when she arrived.

"Hello," she said politely.

Kibeth read the not left on her door with excitement. She'd never played racquetball before; hadn't even heard of it. But it sounded like fun, even with the veiled threat about showing up the note implied. And there would be new people there, but not too many. It was perfect.

At the appointed time she practically skipped to the court, slightly disappointed when she realized she was the last to arrive. "I hope I haven't been holding you up" she said brightly.

Luke let the ball bounce and then roll away as he turned to the person who had just arrived. He smiled, tucking the racquet under his arm so he could hold out his hand for her to shake. "Hello! I'm Luke Smith."

Just as he spoke, the third person entered and Luke smiled at her. "You haven't. I haven't been here long. I'm Luke Smith," he once again introduced himself. "Have any of you played racquetball before? I never have but I know the rules..."

Blair took his hand when he offered, never one to forget her own manners.

"Blair Waldorf," she said in her usual 'happy to meet you' tone.

Blair glanced over as another girl joined them, shaking her head a little.

"As Luke said, we haven't been here long ourselves."

Blair laughed a little at Luke's question, shaking her head in disagreement.

"I'm not a very sport orientated girl, other than the few things we do in school."

Kibeth looked at the racquet, looked at the court, looked at Luke and Blair and shook her head. "It looks a little bit like tennis." she said, with an unsure-but-game smile on her face. She didn't really know anything about tennis either, other than Sameth had mentioned his sister had played at school in Ancelctierr, and he was making racquets for her.

"It's nice to meet you both" she said, almost as an afterthought.

If the girl who had shaken his hand was Blair, then that met the other one was Kibeth. "It's nice to meet you too, Kibeth," he said politely. "Have you ever played tennis before?" He knew the rules weren't completely the same but the gist of it was, which was pretty much hitting the ball around and scoring points. "Do you think we're supposed to actually play or just hit the ball around? What do you want to do?"

Blair had played tennis leisurly, but normally only to try and get someone's attention.

"In a way, yes," she said in response to his question about tennis.

She glanced at the two then shrugged.

"It never said anything in the note, just that we've to go to the court."

"I'm fine with anything" Kibeth said cheerfully. "Though perhaps just a little bit of friendly hitting the ball around might be better than actually trying to play."

"And it doesn't sound like any of us actually know the rules"

"Alright." Luke quickly thought of all the things they could try so that they all could play. "Should we have two on one side and one on the other?" Luke hoped it wouldn't have to be on his own. He wasn't very good with sports and would probably be running after the ball more often than hitting it.

Sam had been wandering around the resort, looking for something to do, when one of those golems walked up to him and handed him an envelope. Curious but also slightly wary, Sam took and opened it. Inside where instructions for him to go to the racquetball court and meet three other people. From the looks of it, the golem was there to escort him. Sighing, Sam gave in. Might as well. "Okay, lead the way."

The golem led him to the court then walked away. Entering, Sam saw that there where two girls and a teen there. "Uh. Hey," he said, lifting a hand in greeting. "I just got this note and this golem brought me here." Sam fished the note out of his pocket and waved it around a bit. "I'm Sam. Sam Winchester."

Blair was about to nod when she spotted another man coming their way, a golem leading him. So this game was about to get a little more interesting. She smiled as he got closer, waving her fingers back at him.

"Blair Waldorf," she told him. "Nice to meet you, Sam."

She couldn't help it. He was cute and she was single. It was like a curse.

"Well there we go!" Kibeth said brightly as Sam came in and introduced himself. That made four, which would allow an even number on each side. She shifted slightly, feeling a sudden wave of discomfort. Two other people was fine, especially since one seemed relatively young. Three was getting close to her limit of number she really wanted to deal with. Too many people meant the possibility of too many questions. But three wasn't bad. She mentally shook herself.

"I'm Kibeth" she said to the newcomer. "Now we can do two against two!"

"I'm Luke Smith," Luke introduced himself.

Sam reached out to shake the kids hand, smiling in return. "Nice to meet you all." He nodded at Blair and Kibeth. "So, racquetball, huh? Are we dividing up into teams? Boys against the girls?" he asked, casting a glance at Luke. "Or something else?"

Blair was not about to lose and opportunity to team up with a cute guy.

"Well that's not fair is it? Why don't I team up with Sam, and Luke and Kibeth can go together? That way no one has the upper hand."

Now of course, this would help her get closer to him.

Kibeth gave Blair a thoughtful look. She was pretty sure she could figure out what the girl's angle was. It didn't take a genius to figure out; young woman, young man... She cocked a half smile and nodded.

"That sounds like a good idea. So let's play!" she picked up a racquet and meandered over to one side of the court. She glanced over at Luke and gave him an encouraging smile. "We'll be sure to beat 'em, right?"

Luke was up for whatever the other's wanted to do, so when Sam suggested they team up, he was about to say sure when Blair cut in. Luke shrugged. "Alright." He didn't mind. He looked at Kibeth and wondering why she was looking at Blair studiously... Probably some social thing he didn't understand. Feeling it rude to ask, Luke just followed her over to one side of the court, his racquet already in his hand.

He laughed and nodded when Kibeth spoke to him. "I'll try my best. I'm not very good at sports," Luke admitted.

Sam raised an eyebrow at Blair, oblivious for the moment. "Sure, okay," he agreed with a smile. As they walked out to their side of the court, Sam made small talk. "So where are you from? I'm from 2006. Not anywhere in particular. I'm mostly a drifter."

Blair grinned a little when everyone agreed with the situation. Now she could get to know him a little better, check him out a bit.

"2007, so not too far from you. And I'm from New York, Upper East Side."

Glancing at him he smiled.

"A drifter? So you travelled? That's pretty cool."

Kibeth snorted very softly at Blair's obvious interest in Dean. "Not very subtle is she?" she muttered with a smile. It wasn't her problem, and it was kind of cute.

"So what about you?" she asked Luke, as she grabbed a ball and prepared to serve. "Where and when are you from? Heads up!" she called, and served the ball more or less correctly, arcing it up and over the net.

Luke glanced at Kibeth, then over at Blair and Sam, completely obliviously. "Huh?" he asked, not understanding. "Subtle about what?" He held the racket up and got ready to swing it if the ball came towards him, hoping he wouldn't act like a fool in the process...

"I'm from Ealing, London, 2009. What about you?"

"East coast, huh? I went to college at Stanford for a bit," Sam admitted. "Completely across the country but," he said with a grin. Sam moved forward to hit the ball back across the net not too hard, a nice easy swing. He laughed when she asked if he'd traveled. "Oh yeah. I don't think there's a state I haven't been to yet."

"Stanford? You're pretty smart there, then?" She watched him hit the ball, grinning lightly. "Good aim."

So he travelled? She always liked a man who wasn't always stuck in one place.

"Educated and well traveled? Such a package."

"Don't worry about it" she said when Luke asked what she'd meant by subtle. She watched as Sam hit the ball, sending it arcing back over the net.

"Hit it!" she called, as Luke was far closer than she was. And it made a good distraction from his question on her origins.

Luke dove for the ball, holding the racquet out. It nicked the corner of it and went bouncing then rolling off in a completely different direction. "Sorry!" Luke called out, running after it. He quickly picked it up and ran back so he wouldn't keep the others waiting. So he wasn't the best at sports, but surely he could do something as simple as this.

Luke dropped the ball and let it bounce once, then did an underhand serve, hitting the ball easy but enough that it made its way over the net. There! He grinned.

"Must be, if I got accepted there," Sam replied with a grin. "I didn't quite finish," he admitted, watching as Luke missed the ball and ran after it. "Had to leave."

He eyed Kibeth for a moment. She hadn't given a last name and Kibeth wasn't your typical first name. He wondered if she wasn't your typical 'normal' person.

After Luke hit the ball, Sam walked backwards a bit since the ball was heading more towards Blair than him. "Your turn!" he called out, watching to see how she would do.

"Well that's unfortunate, but there's always other chances."

Blair watched as the ball came her way, hitting it perfectly over the net. Of course, she'd played tennis a fair few times so she was accustomed to at least the techniques of what they were doing, and knew how to make sure the ball went over the net.

"So what were you studying?"

"No worries" Kibeth said as Luke missed the ball. "We're just having fun"

She tracked the ball as it arced over the net, was hit by Blair and returned towards her. She lunged for it, and felt the ball impact the raquet. It was not a good hit, but the ball did manage to make it back over the net, if barely.

Luke waited patiently while Kibeth hit the ball. Even though she still hit it, she still had to lunge for it, making Luke feel a little less stupid about having missed the ball before. At least he hadn't hit someone in the face with it. He wondered if she hadn't answered his question about where she came from because she hadn't heard him or she had chosen to ignore it... Luke felt it rude to ask in case it was the latter, so he let it go, even though he was curious.

Blair laughed and shrugged.

"Not this in particular, but I played tennis in school. Which, with the way we're playing it, seems very similar."

Blair watched as Kibeth hit the ball once more and realised it wasn't a strong enough hit for it to reach them. She moved quickly, hitting the ball back over the net, before taking a few steps back towards Sam.

And so a game broke out, one that they didn't play exactly by the rules because these activities were supposed to be fun, right? They weren't hardcore racquetball players. Sam casually chatted with Blair while they played, learning a little bit more about her.

Sam glanced at his watch and was surprised to see that an hour had already gone by since he'd arrived. He glanced at the others to see if they were getting tired.
