When: Day 29, after greeting Astor
What: Sidney is Bored and has no idea others were kidnapped

Status: Complete

After seeing Astor join the madness of the snowball fight (and getting in a couple of quick shots before it got too cold) Sidney slipped back inside to watch the mayhem unfold. "Oh man, someone cooked up a freaking canon that shoots snowballs!" she almost broke down laughing but did remember to ask,"Some coffee?" and found a steaming cup waiting by her windowside perch. She found her notebook and went back to work on an entry while getting a kick out of the scene outside,"Too cold but it is rather fun to watch and Astor is fitting in so far" seeing the younger girl among the fray.

Between sips she just watched the scene around her, being a student of human nature as well she was curious about the people the planet had grabbed (right now watching another woman writing in one of the notebooks and sipping coffee, the accent was different but made nothing of it).

"But why am I still seeing huge rabbits in my dreams?" she mused, not knowing anyone could hear her ongoing musing.

Ianto Jones actually had a hangover. The last time he remembered drinking as much as he had last night had been when Lisa died. Torchwood demanded efficiency and so Ianto never really got around to getting smashed on New Years Eve since they were always on call.

Normally he would have stayed in his own room but Jack had just found Gray. Ianto didn't want to intrude (although he knew the real reason was that he didn't want to have to face Gray just yet) so he stayed away. He also felt guilty for staying in Gwen's room, so he'd gone out to spend the day wandering around, trying not to brood.

He wandered passed the lobby and went to the coffee bar since he wasn't able to get back into his own room and make his own coffee. Getting a cup and not sure if he was actually going to drink it or not, he made his way to the lobby to sit down. He saw Gwen was there chatting with someone so he stayed out of her way, intending to go sit in the corner by himself when he saw another familiar face he hadn't said hello to in a while.

Ianto sat down across from Sidney, smiling warmly even though what he felt in his head made him want to permanently scowl. "Hello, Miss Prescott. It's certainly been awhile. What's this about rabbits?" Better to distract himself talking to someone else than let himself get too wrapped up in his own thoughts.

"Just strange dreams due to recent events and hello again Mr.Jones" Sidney looked up from her notebook as she spoke and made room on the window seat. "That woman, the brunette with your accent. Do you know her?" having started a list of how people around the resort seemed to know each other. "But the rabbit thing has basically decided to stick around since how do I say this" racking her brain for a good couple of minutes. "I was grabbed by a huge rabbit and well it triggered things" having come clean about Ghostface to Ianto.

Ianto glanced over at Gwen and nodded. "She's a friend and co-worker, Gwen Cooper. She's only recently arrived. Again. She was here before but was taken when the large group of people vanished then got deposited here again. It's very strange."

He slowly raised an eyebrow when she spoke about giant rabbits. What was she drinking, alcohol? Maybe she should go back to her room and rest... "A huge rabbit? Care to elaborate more?" he asked, doing his best not to find it amusing when it didn't look like it was a funny topic to her.

"Its strange, the rabbit keeps popping up in my dreams since that spat of kidnappings" Sidney was honest. "I had gotten grabbed and well my head was screaming guy in bad rabbit suit rental but this was so much more" spilling details only someone having been there would understand. "I was bound and basically left on the floor in full blown panic mode, given my history it was worse" meaning Ghostface. Sidney's hand shook for a split second, the memories a little too much at the moment.

"Spat of kidnappings?" Ianto asked, no longer finding the situation amusing. "You were kidnapped by a person in a rabbit suit?" Ianto realized, from what she had told him about Ghostface, that a person dressed up in a suit, whose face she couldn't see, probably would be very effective in frightening her. "How long ago was this? Was it about 14 days ago?" That had been the same time Ianto had been captured.

"It was about 2 weeks ago!" Sidney's eyes were blazing. "I had gone to explore and just nose around when I got grabbed from behind by a huge rabbit, I could not see a face so given my history it made matters much worse" she explained. "I was bound and almost gagged since I tried to fight back so the nightmares are now a mix of Ghostface and huge rabbits" she was blinking more, trying to push back the memories.

"I wonder if this happened to more than just us. I was captured along with Michiru and a man named Snape. Were you the only one or were their others with you too?" Ianto asked. What it just a coincidence or had something planned it? Had more people been captured besides just the four of them? That worried Ianto. What if the Planet wasn't benevolent? If the Planet hadn't been the cause of it, what had? Were they in danger? A thousand questions ran through Ianto's mind, trying to piece everything together.

"2 maybe 3 others, I just remember Tonks because of her hair, I figured it was a dye job but a really good one" Sidney was honest. "I blocked bits and pieces out and well I'm sure I'm scaring people at night, the nightmares are worse than ever" she confessed. Her hand shook for a split second but enough that anyone would notice,"I was left on the floor the whole time, bound and well my wrists finally lost the worst of the bruises last week" dark eyes speaking more than words could.

"I've slipped right back to where I was right after shooting Ghostface, posed my hunch about being being grabbed after weird things since I got to thinking others may be like me. But what scares me more is that I'm just now facing everything I shoved back early on" finally spilling more of her tale. Being kidnapped had only retriggered her demons and in the worst way.

"Tonks? Can't say that I've met her yet," Ianto admitted. "Er, if you think perhaps you're keeping people awake at night from nightmares, you could ask for some soundproof walls. I believe they work quite well." Ianto did his very best to keep his face straight and not blush while he said this. God, he hoped that their walls were soundproof. He'd never heard anything from Sidney's room and they were right next to each other so he assumed they worked.

"Sometimes I have trouble sleeping too," Ianto confessed, revealing something people rarely knew about. "Had to take pills for it. It's gotten better though. Jack being here helps. I don't encourage them and I'm not sure how it would work here with there not being a medical doctor around but maybe the planet knows what to do. I'm sure it wouldn't do something to harm us." At least, he hoped. As far as he knew, no one had been killed yet since he'd arrived so he could only assume.

"It's no good to bottle things up," Ianto said, being hypocritical of himself. "Better to get everything out. You don't have to tell me or anyone for that matter. I use a journal as my outlet most of the time," Ianto confessed, not caring if a male using a diary sounded girly or not. It was his way to relieve stress and it worked, most of the time.

"All I remember about her besides a British accent, nothing like you and your friend" Sidney meant Gwen,"Along with her hair, really bright color". She nodded,"Soundproof walls may come in handy, I try and fight back my screams but I know a couple have escaped".

"I got put on pills after the first round of Ghostface and kept a dose in my dresser drawer if the dreams got too much, only dipped into them maybe 2 times afterwards. But tiny confession: part of me wishes after all this that a dose was hidden for me to find" that little confession a peek into the still healing young woman. "But I'm alone, nobody from my world so you're lucky to have Jack and Gwen around. Spilled a tiny bit of all this in a comment, I had spoken of being grabbed post killing Ghostface part 2" having spilled a small portion in her entry. "But I know I have to start facing my demons, its just worse given recent events".

"But you know something? Keeping a journal is not girly. I know several guys that kept them in various forms" she was honest. "I know I need an outlet and I know part of my problem is trusting, I slipped into the shadows and well it felt safer to stay hidden than be in the world" as she told of almost becoming a shut in at the height of the second round of Ghostface. Sidney looked as fragile as she was feeling, her eyes were shadows and her pale skin more pale than before.

Ianto let out a light laugh. "That's because we have Welsh accents," Ianto said with amusement and a hint of pride towards his nationality. Ianto nodded as he placed Tonks in his head. The only other unusually haired woman he'd seen around had been Michiru but he knew who she was.

"If you know what kind of pills you used before, just think of those and they'll appear." At least, Ianto was fairly confident that they would. "If that's what helps you, then the planet should give it. And you're not completely alone," Ianto scolded kindly. "There are plenty of people here and I told you if you ever needed anything, I'm right next door. Trust me, shutting people out and trusting no one is not the way to deal with things. More often than not, everything blows up in your face later and I know that from experience." He had the incident with Lisa in mind.

A tiny smile escaped Sidney as she spoke. "I honestly figured you and Gwen were just from a different part of Europe" able to see the humor in her goof (which is a very honest one).

"Chiding is sinking in" Sidney could see the other side now. "I now see I'm not facing my past alone and maybe soon I'll write the whole thing down. But now comes the hard part: facing everything the kidnappings brought back with a vengeance" her hand shaking for a tiny bit. "Just scared to open up, I guess its fear of being seen as a freak when I already feel like target material since this was the 3rd time inside 2 years something has happend" from Ghostface to being kidnapped. She came clean little by little from sleeping the darkness away to breaking down once while in the shower. "Its strange, the things that worked before are not helping now. Its like my brain and my body are at odds"

"It is, sort of," Ianto admitted. "Wales, England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland are all apart of the United Kingdom," he explained, "but they are different countries."

Ianto gave a little laugh when Sidney mentioned she was afraid to be seen as a freak. "Trust me, Sidney. I can name three people right off the top of my head who would in no way think you are a freak and I'm sure there are more who would agree with me. I should tell you some of the things that I've seen and been through."

Sidney nodded as she added the info to her mental file. "I just knew you and Gwen sounded nothing like Tonks so easy way for me to keep people straight".

"Think you can top serial killers in ghost masks? But I would love to know more about your friends, you said there was another you and Gwen know? But you got into my brain, I'm going to come clean about this somehow" she was honest. She decided she would finally quote Randy's routine of rules on how to survive a horror movie.

"Try aliens. All kinds of different aliens," Ianto challenged. "Ones that look like pepper shakers and ones that look like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz." Ianto felt that poking fun at something you were afraid helped to alleviate some of that fear, if not for a moment. "That's only name two out of many."

When Sidney asked about their other friend, Ianto nodded. "Yes, there's Captain Jack Harkness. He's my partner. How do you know Gwen?" he asked, without even pausing when he mentioned Jack. If Sidney had something against that kind of relationship, well, that was her problem. Ianto couldn't make everyone happy and he wasn't going to hide Jack away now that they'd worked things out.

"She's got the room near mine so we've talked a bit here and there. Throat sounded pretty awful so I gave her a few tricks that should help" Sidney nodded. The fact two men were together did not phase her one bit, she's just open minded. "She told me a bit about her husband when I asked about her ring and well I like her already" as she sipped her coffee.

"How did you meet Jack?" Sidney asked. "But aliens that look like movie characters and pepper shakers! Now if they were of the nice sort that would have been fun to see" cracking a rare enough smile. "

Ianto smiled when Sidney said she liked Gwen. "She's a good friend. Passionate about things. As for how I met Jack..." Ianto didn't bother holding back his grin, which he tried not to let fall, because thinking about Jack made him think about Gray. "Well, I worked for this company called Torchwood," Ianto began his story, being careful to tell only the pieces he wanted to. "There are four branches of it. One was in London. The others are in Glasgow and Cardiff and the fourth one is, well, missing. It's classified information so I'm not really sure what that means. I worked at the London branch but long story short, it was shut down. I'm from Cardiff so I went back there, tracked down the Torchwood Cardiff branch. Jack was in charge. He didn't have a very good relationship with Torchwood London, for which I don't blame him at all. I didn't think much of them either. I more or less stalked Jack down, used all the tricks I knew, to get him to hire me. It worked, eventually. Things happened, time went by, we got to know each other better and here we are now, stuck on a planet we can't escape from, sharing a room."

"Sounds something like a romantic comedy but then I confess to being a movie buff" but Sidney had to smile at Ianto's tale of meeting Jack. "But did you break out all the classic old movie tricks?" seeing there was plenty of humor to be had after all.

Ianto laughed. "I must confess to being a bit of one too. Do you have a particular genre you like or a bit of everything? Tell me what you consider classic old movie tricks and I'll tell you if I used them or not," he replied in good humor.

"I know an entire routine of rules on how to survive a horror movie" Sidney cracked a smile while fighting off memories of Randy. "One of the friends I lost wrote up a whole list and I have it stuck in my journal, should post it one of these days. But on the trick front did you cook up a crazy excuse to follow Jack or pretend to be the guy bringing in the takeout?"

Ianto laughed, amused by Sidney's humor. "No, I actually had a reason for trying to get him to hire me. To be honest, I almost hated his guts when I first met him, but I had something I had to do and I could only do it at Torchwood."

"One of those cases of you knew you just had to be there" Sidney offered. "As for me I worked a little but during Ghostface well I really became a shut in, but I'm trying to come out of my shell a little more. I also decided to post the rules routine"

"Nightmares fade," Ianto said kindly. "They may take a while to and they may come back at times, but they get better. Just find something to help buffer against them. You've had a lot of shocks in your life. It's no surprise."

"I've got a few ideas now and well knowing there are sleeping pills hidden in the old hiding place is my if all else fails plan" as Sidney spotted action. "But I think you'll feel better if you can check on your friend" having heard soft coughing nearby.

Ianto glanced over at Gwen, frowning a bit. She'd been sick for a while. "It's good to know you're both friends," he said with a slight smile, rising to his feet. "I'll see you around."
