Day Twenty Seven
Who: The Doctor [info]fromgallifrey and Andy [info]brain_ninja
When: Day 27, morning
What:  Doctor arrives to an infinite level of being perplexed
Where:  The TARDIS is plopped at the foot of the ski-lift
Rating: PG, I suppose
Status: Complete

The door to the TARDIS went bang with a slam of the door and a flurry of red hair as Donna was on her way to a prompt visit home. The Doctor had decided it best to stay in and just wait it out. He was checking the circuitry just below the hammer-gripped console making absolutely certain that the repair he'd made about 200 years ago was still holding. Pointing his screwdriver he re-fused the wires together. "There you are then," he said to the TARDIS, moving to stand.

As The Doctor stood it felt like the TARDIS itself shook, "What?!"

Straightening up he rocked back on his heels, hands running down his thighs as he redeposited his screwdriver back into his pocket. Closing the gap between the platform and the door he pushed open the exit and squinted at the bright wintry day. "What?!"

Closing the door he walked back inside, looking around. Yes, this was his TARDIS. Yes, the console was still open where he'd been checking his mono-phasic circuitry  Alright, he was in the TARDIS. Closing the gap again he peeked out into the snowcovered landscape. There were no rowhouses, no streets, no sirens, and no Donna. "Oh..." Came a sigh as the door to the TARDIS shut behind him.

"Where am I then?" He asked himself, feeling the chill of the snow creeping through his shoes and up his ankles. This was not right, not right at all. The TARDIS hadn't been active, which means the TARDIS didn't bring him here. There had been no whooshing or blinking lights.  With a crunch of the snow beneath him he unlocked the TARDIS door, scurried up to the consol and tried to shift her back into gear. "C'mon," he said, the TARDIS whooshing and whistling and settling with a whiney thud.

"What's that then? You got us back to Donna then?" He asked, again heading out the door, back into the snow.

"Hmmmm," he breathed, looking at the ski lift and the lodge below.  "Right."

"Seems?" Andy asked, grinning. "Screw that, it's perfect. I'd never go back home!" he exclaimed.

He walked around the room as the Doctor read the tablet, looking for the Doctor's room key. Had to be here somewhere, he thought, furrowing his brow. "Ah ha," he said to himself with a grin, finding a key glowing slowly brighter and then dimmer on a mantle across the room. Andy went to retrieve it and held it out to the Doctor. "Room key," he announced. "I dunno how many people are here. Lots, I think. I've met a fair few, but seems like every time I get attached to someone, they disappear..." he said with a frown. "Or maybe they just got sent back. Dunno."

After a pause to think, Andy shrugged again, offering the Doctor an apologetic expression. "I'm not sure exactly. They're all over, I know that, but I've never really needed them, except when we were doing the grape stomping or whatever and they were running the instructional DVD," he rambled. "We can go looking...I bet they'll be at the party. I got an invitation and a journal or something this morning. The party is a big group thing, I guess, and everybody's invited. Usually where there's a group thing, there's a Gollem or two," he explained.

Smiling slightly, Andy looked back at the Doctor. "You wanna go to your room, though, first? Get some dry...and warmer clothes?" he said, looking over the Doctor and noting that the man's trousers were wet from the bottom hem up to his shins from walking through the snow. Andy thought maybe he would change, too, actually...who knew if there'd be cute chicks there, after all...

"Sent back?" Well, that's just what he wanted to hear because the Doctor wanted he and his TARDIS and anybody else who wanted to get the heck off the planet off. It didn't seem right that people would be happy in a place that they could never leave from, yet it seemed that Andy was.

The Doctor took the room key as it was offered, scrutinizing it. "Just a normal key..." he muttered, trying to feel just what the metal was, and if it was somehow techy. The Doctor liked Tech - he could manipulate tech.

"Party?" He perked. The planet threw parties? Oh goodness, he was going to need something to keep his head straight around here. He wasn't entirely used to thinking of a planet as a sentient being - but for the moment he had no choice but to go with it.

'Sure, I'll head to my room, why not?" He asked taking a random step and then stopping. "Which way is it now?" You'd think this planet would have provided people a map if it wanted to be so darned clever.
