Lestat hadn't come back this morning. This wasn't a big deal. Armand was busy basking in the glow that had come with nearly draining the Doctor and the alien boy Max, and in truth, he hadn't noticed until recently that the other vampire who shared this room wasn't around. It had been days though, he'd realized this evening as he'd come up out of the place where he hid from the daylight. The more he thought about it, the more alarmed he got. Lestat was a wanderer, true, but surely he would come home eventually?

Also, a couple of days ago, through the link that all vampires shared, at least those who had neither created nor been created by the other one, he'd sensed something. He had paid no attention to it at the time, being too drunk on the blood of the aliens, and the bonding that had happened, but now that he had mostly sobered up, he was worried. Yes, he could admit it. He really was fond of the Brat Prince, though he spent half his time trying to act like he wasn't.

Still, as he came out of hiding, he spend a couple of minutes preening in front of the mirror. His skin had become even more pearly white, luminescent, since drinking the powerful blood. He could feel that he was stronger, too, and he snarled playfully at his reflection in the mirror. Because he felt the urge to, he cut off most of his shoulder length hair, leaving it short, boyish, and tousled. Sure, it was a little vain to be worried about his appearance when he was also worried about the Vampire Lestat, but it was just how he was.

Finally, all was ready. It was early, yet, with the sun still casting reddish shadows into the darkening sky. A mark of how worried he was, that he had awoken so early. As he left the building, he opened his mind. The strength of his powers nearly exhilerated him, but for once, he focused. Blonde hair, rakish smile, blue eyes... the Brat Prince himself. Now that he was open to it, he got such a strong sense of him, and pain, that he had no trouble tracking him down. It was hard, though, to keep himself from getting really angry. Who had hurt his Lestat like this?

Finally, he reached the spot where the sense of Lestat was the strongest, and started digging. People called him an angel, and had since he was a mere mortal, and today he was living up to his name. He would rescue Lestat, though he wasn't too worried about the reasons for why. He wanted to, he cared for him. Those two things were enough.

He lay there, the immortal Lestat de Lioncourt, probably the most powerful vampire on Earth, by way of Akasha’s blood…laid low by a stupid mistake…entombed in rock, far below the surface of the planet. Why did I not reason that the celestial bitch’s blood would poison me? I am smart enough to know that a star is a sun!. His heightened senses could feel, smell and hear all of the things that crawl and turn beneath the soil. I was drunk on Vaako’s alien blood. That’s it! That must be it!. Lestat felt satisfied with that discovery in his half sleep.

Now he would begin plans for his revenge…and he had plenty of time to make those plans the most terrifying punishments known to man. He would… Armand? … he had thought that he’d heard Armand. Lestat reasoned it must be the poisoned blood and the pain from his ravaged body. So, back to his vengeance…he would take away all of their senses and entomb them in their own bodies! If he didn’t hurt so badly, he would have laughed with glee. First their eyes and… Armand? Yes…they hurt me!

The Vampire Lestat knew he wasn’t imagining things now…he could feel his dear Armand moving closer and closer…his beautiful angel was searching for him. He felt such a bond with the slender, blond vampire at this moment…they were two of a kind…hunters, predators, but taking care of each other…Vampires! Louis would never search for him. With what little reserves he had, he sent out, I’m here, Armand, below ground…deep below. I’ve been badly injured. Watch your back, mon chere. He could feel Armand directly above him now…he was digging. Lestat smiled through his pain, My angel.

The angelic vampire frowned as he picked up some of Lestat's thoughts. Something about a star? He drank the blood of a star? And Vaako... a man that was somehow connected with Riddick, he seemed to know that much. Riddick who intruiged him just from images he'd gotten from Lestat's mind. Riddick whom he would certainly be tracking down, and probably much sooner now that a slow anger was burning inside of him. No one messed with Lestat, except him. It was the way things worked and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes, Lestat, I am here. The other thoughts had been hazy, almost, because they weren't focused to him. This, however, was, and he had absolutely no trouble picking them up. I'm here, and don't worry, dear one. You won't be hurt for long, I promise you... Not that big rescues were normally Armand's thing. Really, it was Marius who normally did such things, and sometimes Lestat himself. However, he figured he could probably figure it out without too much difficulty.

I'm coming. Don't worry about me... I could take on the whole world right now. Alright, so he was still slightly drunk on the blood of the alien boy and the Doctor. Slightly euphoric, but it was how he felt... so anyone around could bring it on, but he was going to rescue Lestat. No, of course, Louis would preach at you about how you got into this mess yourself, and how you should cherish your pain as a way of reminding you about... well, whatever it is he's on about this week. He loved Louis, he really did, but he could be quite annoying sometimes.

The digging, though, was taking too long. Far, far too long. Armand didn't have the patience for it. So he stood back, jumping easily out of the hole he'd made, and concentrated. Time to see what the extent of his new power was... He held out his hands, collecting energy there, and then flung it toward the hole. Large chunks of earth detached themselves and were dumped onto the ground. In seconds, the boyish vampire could peer down into the hole and see that he'd reached the bedrock. Lower then? With a shrug, he hopped down into the hole and started peeling away the rock as if it were clay. He had to be more careful here, so that he didn't injure the vampire further while trying to rescue him.
