Rescue Thread!
Who: Haruka, Faith; then Michiru, Ianto, and Snape when we reach the roof
What: It's rescuin' time!
When: mid-afternoon
Where: on the grounds of the resort, then on the roof where Michiru, Ianto, and Snape are being held captive
Rating: um...PG-13?
Status: Complete

Michiru hadn't come home last night. She never stayed out all night. Haruka hadn't worried when she was later than anticipated the evening before; perhaps she'd run into Legolas and they'd decided to chat. As the sun set and the stars had come out, she'd started to wonder just how late her partner was going to be. Haruka didn't like sleeping alone, and as the hours passed, began to grow worried.

She'd finally fallen asleep on the armchair near their bookcase sometime after midnight. When she'd awoken in the morning, the bed was still as crisply made as Michiru had left it the previous morning, before they'd gone out. Her mirror and communicator were still set out on the bedside table. Haruka had scowled at the communicator. Why hadn't they thought to keep them on at this strange place? Clearly, something had happened, and there was no way to know exactly what because they couldn't talk to one another.

Haruka showered and dressed quickly, and grabbed an apple from the small bowl of fruit they kept in the room to snack on during the day. She rooted around in her closet until she found an old satchel that was large enough to hold the deep aqua mirror comfortably, then slipped said mirror inside. With the bag slung over her shoulder, and her henshin wand tucked into her pocket, she stepped out into the corridor and headed toward the door.

As she stepped outside, an unusually chill wind blew past her. She frowned and narrowed her eyes. Something was definitely amiss today. She could sense it. Were Michiru here, she'd say that the sea was troubled. Haruka looked left, then right, trying to decide which way to go to begin her search. She wished she could just ask Michiru's mirror, but it wouldn't respond to her. It would have made things so much simpler, though.

She chose a direction at random and started walking, scanning the area for any sign of her lover. There were surprisingly few people around outside today, and it was a lovely day. This too bothered her. Something was definitely not right. At last, Haruka did see a person, a male she didn't recognize. "Excuse me," she said, jogging up to him, "you haven't seen a girl with green hair, have you?"

Faith had been avoiding her Watcher. This wasn't so unusual a tactic for her, to just stay away for days or even weeks on end when she was feeling restless or whatever. But the world she was from was much bigger than Mirage, and she was starting to think that she should have seen him by now. Whatever she thought, she did know that he took his responsabilities as her Watcher very seriously, and as such, he should have sought her out by now. But days passed, and she hadn't seen anything of him.

Still, she didn't worry all that much, not really. At least not until one of the stone creatures, the golems, came up to her and wordlessly handed her a wand. She stared at it, her mind flashing back to the time he'd used a stick to hoist her into the air. She stared blankly for awhile. The wand had looked just like this one. How had this creature gotten Snape's wand? "What the hell?"

The golem, of course, didn't speak. It simply pointed, and Faith glared at it. An entirely unusual feeling was building up inside her. She was actually... concerned for her Watcher? No, of course not, she just didn't want him hurt because then those damn dreams would start again and she'd rather not deal with that, thank you very much. Still, there was an usual amount of haste to her movements in the direction that the thing pointed.

Of course, that happened to lead directly toward a blonde Asian woman, but Faith wasn't too worried about her. She had a Watcher to find. "Outta the way, sister." She smirked slightly. "I don't care about your green haired chick, I'm looking for a black-haired man, kinda pale. I think he's this way." She held up the wand she still clutched, and then started moving determindly in the direction which the golem had pointed.

Haruka glared at the other woman, bristling at her rudeness. Then, the meaning of her words registered in Haruka's mind, and she turned abruptly on her heel and followed after her. "Someone you know is missing as well?" she said as she caught up to the woman. "What makes you think he's this way?"

Haruka noticed the funny little stick clutched in the woman's hand and raised an eyebrow. It had some importance, clearly, or she wouldn't be holding it so tightly. Haruka held her own henshin wand in that manner just before she transformed. Could this woman be some sort of warrior as well? She'd met other warriors on this planet - the girl Rogue when she first arrived had described herself as such - so it wasn't that far-fetched an idea.

Before the woman could answer her, Haruka spied something lying in the grass just ahead of them. A wand topped by a crescent moon lay just visible near the edge of the building. Michiru's wand. "No!" Haruka cried. She sprinted forward and snatched the wand from the ground, staring at it with wide eyes. There was no way Michiru would have just dropped it; not even Usagi was that careless with her brooch. Something had happened to Michiru. Someone had caused her harm. And when Haruka found that person, whoever it was would pay and pay dearly. She turned back to the other woman. "Do you think something foul has happened to your friend as well?" she asked, her voice quiet with barely-checked anger. She clutched Michiru's wand in her fist so hard that, were it made of anything more flimsy, it might have broken.

Although she didn't stop, she wasn't quite rude enough to just flat out not talk to the woman. So while she kept marching in the direction that the golem had pointed, she did deign to make a comment on the matter. "Yeah, my damn Watcher. This is his stick. I should stick it straight up his ass for getting himself in trouble..."

Sure, that probably wouldn't make a lot of sense to most people, but Faith wasn't overly concerned about that. She was, however, curious when the blonde woman cried out and then ran over to pick up the wand. Her eyes widened as she realized what it was. She wasn't stupid, though she could be rash sometimes. Well, most of the time. She ever stopped her rapid marching to face the woman and look at her more closely.

"Well, Skeletor dropped his wand, and your green-haired chick dropped hers, so maybe they were both snatched or something and dropped their wands in the struggle, you know?" She quickly ran an appraising gaze over the other woman. She didn't look like much, but then, neither did Faith herself. She wouldn't take that to mean anything. "Wanna go snatch them back? I could use a really good fight. Gonna kick someone's ass for this."

Haruka had no idea what a "watcher" was, but she assumed it was some sort of guardian. The young woman seemed old enough to fend for herself, but appearances could always be deceiving. Maybe he was more like the senshi were to Usagi. Not that Haruka particularly cared at the moment, not when Michiru had been harmed.

When the woman offered herself as an ally, Haruka nodded, eyes narrowing. "Give me one moment," she said. She set Michiru's henshin wand and her bag on the ground carefully, then straightened, pulling her own from the pocket of her trousers. She took a step back from the other woman, then thrust her wand into the air. "Uranus Crystal Power, Make-Up!"

Haruka felt the rush of power surge through her body as she took on her senshi form and grinned. Now, she'd be ready to take on whatever had managed to separate Michiru from her wand and mirror. The entire transformation lasted at most a second. The other woman would see, at most, a flash of light around Haruka's body.

Sailor Uranus knelt down and carefully picked up Michiru's wand, tucking it into the bag in which she'd put the Deep Aqua Mirror. Then, she called upon her own talisman, her Space Sword. Once she felt its familiar weight in her hand, she turned to Faith. "Now, where were we?" she asked.

She waited impatiently, having no idea what the strange young woman would want to wait for. Typically, she didn't think much about why she wanted so badly to go rescue Snape. She did, and that was enough for her. Luckily, the blonde didn't take too long... though the flash of light and costume change did warrent a raised eyebrow.

"You know, I think it would be kinda cool to be able to switch outfits like you just did... only thing is, then I'd have to wear that ugly piece of crap." With that undoubtedly rude comment, she whirled around, dark hair flying. Sword on her back, ready to be drawn at any second, she started marching off toward the place that she was fairly certain the golem had pointed.

"Oh, and in case you care..." Her tone indicated that she doubted that. "The name's Faith. Who the hell are you?" She didn't slow down in her determined progress toward the building. She would search every damn inch of it if she had to, to find her Watcher.

Haruka smirked at Faith's comment. She jogged to catch up, pulling even with the girl in a few strides. "It could be worse," she remarked, referring to her outfit. "At least mine doesn't have stilettos." She shook her head, thinking of Rei-chan's shoes. That the girl managed to run, jump, and dodge in fire-red stilettos and not twist an ankle was her real senshi power.

"Haruka," she said when asked her name. "Like this, though, I'm Sailor Uranus, senshi of wind." She flexed the fingers on her free hand, itching to hit something. Between Faith's rather abrupt personality and her concern over Michiru, she'd need an outlet for her frustration soon. "Despite the rather unfortunate costume, I am a warrior. You seem to be one as well." Faith's body language practically screamed warrior of some kind.

Haruka looked out ahead at the building they were approaching, green eyes scanning for any sign that Michiru might be held within. If anyone had hurt her....

"I've fought in stilettos." She shrugged. "Sometimes, vamps are kinda rude, don't wait for me to be done in the club before attacking. Kinda lame, but I deal." She was moving very quickly, but was obviously in really good shape because she wasn't even remotely breathless.

"Haruka... crazy. Japanese, right? Into anime and sushi? I can dig it." She wrinkled up her nose. "No comment on your other name... it's just too easy." The dark-haired girl wrenched open the door, no pausing for thought or strategy. Those things wern't her big strengths, really.

"Yeah, I'm the Slayer." She shrugged slightly. "Whatever you say. Kinda seems that everyone and their damn dog is a warrior in this place." With a slight touch of mocking, she held the door open for the other girl.

Vamps? What did the woman fight, exactly? Haruka wasn't familiar with the slang Faith used, but she assumed it was something bad. She was rather impressed that Faith was so athletic. Their pace wasn't too fast, but it would leave most people gasping for air while they talked. She, like Haruka, wasn't winded at all.

"That's a bit stereotypical," Haruka said as Faith tried to peg her. "I'm more of a motocross and salad girl myself. My daughter's the one who prefers the anime and sushi." She smirked, thinking of Hotaru's recent obsession with some bishounen anime or other. She'd plastered the pages from the manga all over her notebooks. She decided to let the not-quite-insult to her former home-planet slide for the moment. Stupid Western pronunciation.

Haruka tensed as Faith yanked the door open, as if about to just barge in. They had no idea what was on the other side of the door. If only she could make the damn aqua mirror work, there'd be less uncertainty about what lay ahead. She glanced at Faith as she mentioned being the Slayer. Obviously, an important title where she was from. "If everyone here is a warrior, then the Planet must need warriors for something." She scowled. "It should fight its own battles."

She gave Faith a mocking salute as she stepped into the building. The entryway was empty and dark. No signs of life that Haruka could see. The room beyond looked just as empty as the front entry, and only had one door leading off of it. She glanced back at Faith and stalked toward the door, keeping an ear out for any sounds of movement. Nothing. She opened the door, revealing a staircase. "Guess we go up?" she said, holding the door for Faith.

The girl shrugged as she marched into the building. "Well, you know us Americans. Always being stereotypical. While we eat our hamburgers and listen to disco or some shit like that." She laughed, vaguely amused by this conversation. Not that she was going to stop looking for her Watcher, but deep down, she was impressed that Haruka wasn't storming off on her. Most people likely would have. Faith could be difficult.

"Wait, you got a kid?" She continued the conversation as she started moving around the room. There was only one obvious place to go, so being an obvious sort of person, she went there. "You don't look old enough, and I thought they were more freaked out about that sort of thing in Japan, but whatever."

With that, she headed for the stairs. As always, her reckless nature came out in how she didn't look around, she just went for the most obvious route. Straight and direct, she mounted the staircase and headed up. "So, this green-haired chick... why do you care, you know, that she was taken or whatever?"

"Gaijin," Haruka said, but she grinned as she said it. "We'll take care of that stereotyping problem by using our superior technology to beam satellite signals into your brains while you're gorging on fries." This had to be the weirdest conversation Haruka had taken part in since...no, not even Usagi said such odd things. Or at least, her odd conversations were markedly different from Faith's.

She followed Faith up the stairs, eyes narrowed and looking out for any signs of danger. "It's complicated," she said, referring to both Hotaru-chan and Michiru. "Hotaru-chan isn't actually my daughter, but I help raise her, along with my Michiru and our friend Setsuna." She laughed softly. "Hotaru-chan calls me 'papa.'" A pained look crossed her face briefly as she thought about Hotaru. Would she ever see the girl again?

First things first. Find Michiru, then together, along with the other warriors, perhaps they could find a way home. She blinked as they approached the top of the stairs, and another closed door. Haruka tensed. "Any idea what might be on the other side?" she asked, looking at Faith.

With Faith, there was pretty much no way of telling how she would take a comment like that. Either she would be really pissed off and probably attempt to kick some ass, or she would be amused. Luckily, this time the comment struck her as hilarious, and she grinned at the other girl. "Yeah, well, there's also all the geeks that are hardcore into the anime. You're taking over the US one kid at a time!" She paused. "What the hell is a Gaijin?"

She stopped at the door, turning around briefly to look at the other girl. "Yeah?" She allowed her gaze to run over Haruka. "You're pretty butch, I can see why you get the papa role. So you and Michiru are fucking, then?" Faith didn't know what subtle was. And even if she did, she didn't see the point in using it.

"Nah, dunno, don't care. Let's go." With that, the dark-haired Slayer drew the sword off her back with a ringing noise, held it with undeniable competance, and without even checking the knob, kicked it opem with a strength that didn't seem to fit her slender frame.

Haruka smirked. Faith had an interesting sense of humor. "Gaijin means someone who isn't Japanese," she said. She decided not to mention its usually negative connotation, especially since she hadn't intended it as an insult when she'd used it to refer to the other woman.

She turned bright red at Faith's assessment of her family situation. She sputtered as she tried to think of something to say to Faith. She'd never heard anything quite so blunt. Certainly, none of the other senshi would ever say anything so explicit. "It's...a little more emotional than just that," she managed to squeak out. She'd always been uncomfortable discussing her relationship with Michiru in public. She just wasn't a public person in regard to her feelings.

Fortunately, Faith decided to kick open the door right then, which Haruka hoped would put an end to that particular thread of conversation. She brandished her own sword, ready to attack if anything should be waiting for them on the other side of the door. She was rather impressed with Faith's abilities so far. Whatever a Slayer was, it was clearly someone that was used to fighting and was far stronger than she looked.

Beyond the doorway, Haruka could see the open sky. They'd gone all the way to the roof of the building. She slid past Faith and stepped out onto the roof, looking around for any sign of Michiru. The roof was empty, save for the maintenance building at the far end, and a few pieces of duct work sticking out of what must be the various rooms on the top floor.

If Michiru was anywhere up here, it would be that maintenance room. She glanced back at Faith, then ran for the little building. "Michiru!" she called, wondering if her lover was even conscious. "Michiru!"

Normally, Faith wouldn't have been able to resist poking at the blonde woman further, but there were more important things. She took little seriously enough, really, but this apparently was on her list of those few things. At least enough that she wasn't willing to really take her attention off scanning every inch of the rooftop, trying and find her MIA Watcher. Pushing Haruka's buttons could happen later.

She let out a frustrated sigh as she saw that there was nothing here. What a waste of time, she was going to go find that golem who'd pointed her this way and kick it's... Wait, there was a room! Haruka had spotted it first. It didn't take long for her to take off running. Only she wasn't going for the door. That was too far away. A small window nearby was her target.

She didn't even bother to duck and cover as she hit the glass at top speed. With so much force behind it, her slender body forced its way through the window and into the room beyond. Then, she looked around, dark eyes scanning every corner.

"Hey! Skeletor! You around?"

From the cleared-out utility closet across the room, Snape could hear perfectly well the crashing of glass as Faith burst into the maintenance shed. At first, the sound of sudden violence put him on alert, but when the sound of Faith's voice calling for him followed soon after, he was reassured, if not completely relaxed. He had no doubt that she, unlike he or any of his companions in captivity, had the strength to break the simple muggle door that imprisoned them.

"Faith! I am in here! There are two others. We are unable to open the door!"

It was embarrassing to call for help in that fashion, and he restrained himself from detailing all of his current weaknesses, but it seemed most prudent to request assistance. He, Michiru, and Ianto had succeeded in removing their bonds, but had been trying for some time to open the door with no luck.

Michiru started at the sound of crashing glass. Haruka? Her hopes were dashed a moment later as she heard a distinctly not-Haruka female voice. At least it didn't sound like the kidnapper. She was surprised when Snape responded, since she was pretty sure his name was not indeed Skeletor. She couldn't be sure of course, since he hadn't had the decency to introduce himself, but it didn't quite fit.

Still, it looked like rescue might be coming. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, she slammed her fist against the door twice, to help their unknown rescuer find them.

Skeletor? Ianto wondered, casting a glance at Snape. Even though he knew who Skeletor was, he wondered how Snape had gotten that as a nickname, even if was only used just this once. No matter, though. It wasn't his business. Snape called back to the female voice and Ianto took a step back. They'd be out of there soon, thank God, so there was no need for him to make a racket. Surely their rescuer, or rescuers, could hear Snape's voice and Michiru's banging on the door.

Haruka had paused at the building to debate how best to open the door without injuring anyone who might be inside. When Faith crashed through the window, however, she decided to take her cue from the other woman. She backed up a few paces and then ran for it, leaping though the window that Faith had so kindly broken for her. She landed in a crouch just behind the other woman, who was shouting for someone named Skeletor. She raised an eyebrow at the name, but that was all. There were more important things to deal with.

"Anyone in there get away from the door!" she shouted, raising her hand above her head and summoning her power. "World Shaking!" she shouted, slamming her hand to the ground. The attack shot toward the door of the supply closet and barreled through not only it, but the far wall as well. It hit well above the doorknob, so Haruka could only hope the people inside, if there were any, had the sense to duck.

"Michiru!" she called. She took a step forward, then hesitated. What if no one was there, and it was just a trap?

As Snape's familiar British tones filled the room, she felt an undeniable sense of relief fill her. He wasn't dead! This was good. Maybe he was hurt but then that could always be dealt with later. The surprise of everyone else at her calling her Watcher by her nickname went unnoticed. Not that anyone was hiding it all that well, but it wasn't important enough to think about.

"Alright then, hold your horses, we're coming in!" As Haruka blasted through the door, Faith looked surprised for a second. "Woah, girly, I'm glad you're on my side." She flashed the blonde a grin before flinging herself past her, past the broken down door and into the small supply cabinet. A girl with really wicked hair, some dude, and then the one she had come for. Her Watcher.

"Hey, don't make a damn habit of this, okay? It's not in my job discription to rescue my Watcher, just so you know." She held up the wand she still clutched in her hand. "Hey, Gomez! Catch!" This nickname, pulled from The Addams Family, made about as much sense as Skeletor did. But then, Faith was nothing if not inventive.

Winding up, she tossed her Watcher his wand easily and then looked around. "Hey, guys, how's it going?" She spoke conversationally to the other people in the room. "So, who do I have to make be in serious hurt for doing this?"

Snape took a deep breath as Uranus' energetic attack blasted past him not an inch away. Immediately after that, his eyes were assaulted by the light pouring in through the remains of the closet door. Blinking, he nevertheless was able to make out the chattering form of Faith bounding into the room.

Snatching his wand from the air, Snape instantly felt better. Suffused at once with confidence backed by magical power, he turned authoritatively to his Slayer. "Gomez? I don't know where you get these ridiculous names, but if you cannot bring yourself to call me 'sir', Snape is the only acceptable alternative!"

Briefly glancing around to see if the blonde warrior in the outrageous outfit was attending to the other captives, he answered Faith's question for them. "It seems to have been an insane woman in a catsuit."

Michiru's eyes lit up at the familiar voice shouting for them to get away from the door.
"Move!" she shouted, pushing herself up and as far away from the door as possible. Sure enough, the familiar golden energy blasted through the door and the wall opposite. She winced as her eyes tried to adjust to the sudden light. She stood up and brushed herself off, though the attack hadn't actually kicked up that much dust. She spared a curious glance at the girl who came through the door first, but she obviously most concerned with Snape. Which was fair. Michiru was mostly concerned with the blond still standing outside the blown in door.

"I'm in here, Uranus" she said, with mock exasperation. "There was no need to blow the wall out too"

Ianto did as instructed and moved back, following Michiru's example. The door was blasted open and Ianto squinted into the harsh light until his eyes grew used to it.

He stayed back and smiled slightly. It seemed his two fellow captives had people looking for them. So where was Jack? he thought with a sharp but short pang. Jack probably doesn't know I'm missing. It must not have been that long of a time. He knew if Jack couldn't find him, he'd search until he did. He trusted Jack.

But Jack wasn't here, so he stayed back, letting the others reunite.

Hearing Michiru's voice, Haruka dashed forward and into the tiny room. She spared a glance for Faith and her Watcher, an older man who looked like he'd stepped out of a horror manga, before focusing her attention on her lover. She rushed up to the other woman, and stopped short of her, folding her arms across her chest and shaking her head. "If you're going to take that tone, I can always leave you here," she teased. She smirked, then rooted around in her bag. "You dropped this," she said, holding out Michiru's henshin wand. "And I brought your mirror."

She overheard the Watcher, Snape, he insisted on being called, mention something about a woman in a catsuit. "Catsuit?" she said, raising an eyebrow and glancing around. They'd seen no one matching that description on their way up here. Perhaps the woman had realized what she'd have to deal with and fled.

Then, Haruka noticed the other man in the room. She turned and nodded to him. "Hello," she said. "Are you okay?" She glanced over at Faith to see if the other woman knew this person as well.

Faith had less than no interest in hearing just what it was that Snape wanted to say about his name. She made nicknames for people, and that was just how it was. Buffy hadn't much liked being called 'B' either, but that had never bothered Faith in the slightest. So she waved off Snape's concerns with a sort of airy disregard.

"Whatever, okay, Skeletor." She smirked at him before turning to the other people in the room. "Hi, guys." She looked appraisingly at Ianto and then turned to Michiru. "Wicked hair. Couldn't ever make myself do that fake hair shit, but it suits you." She leaned casually against the wall and glanced around. "So, I'm not having fun. Let's get outta here before psycho cat girl or whatever comes back."

With that barrage of words, the Slayer turned on her heel and walked out of the shattered door of the supply closet. Her job was done, as far as she saw, and she didn't really want to just hang out talking for a million years. She had much better things to do... no exact plans, of course, but anything would be better in her mind than staying here.

Snape closed his eyes and took a breath, wondering not for the last time why he had agreed to such a close association with such a willfull and disobedient young woman. Did she not realize that her behaviour reflected badly on him? Now was not the time to get into a discussion about her disrespectful use of nicknames.

Embarrassed by his Slayer's easy command of the situation, Snape refused to leave immediately upon her heels, like some frequently-beaten dog. Gazing around the room, he saw his fellow captives in the light for the first time. Michiru's hair was a surprising shade of green, and she was clearly on familiar terms with their blonde liberator. Ianto appeared to be a normal muggle, oddly-dressed, probably not that interesting.

"Well, Uranus, is it? Like the planet? It looks like you've got things well in hand with these two. I find I agree with Faith. I see no point in hanging about. Our captor is not likely to return, though I would have a thing or two to say to her if she did. My thanks for the rescue, Uranus. I bid the three of you farewell."

Having said his piece, Snape deemed a long enough interval to have passed and strode sweepingly from the room.

"It's not..." Michiru started to say in response to Faith's comment on her hair, but before she could get more than those two words out the other woman had strode out of the room. Michiru watched her go, speechless for a moment. She hadn't dealt with rudeness on that kind of scale since... since... well, since her last European tour. "Gaijin" she muttered, glancing at Uranus. She sighed as Snape left as well, with little obvious concern for either her or Ianto. No manners at all, these people.

She however, would be better. She looked over at Ianto, who seemed slightly disappointed for some reason. "Well, we are rescued at least" she said to him with a slight shrug. "Please permit me to make introductions. Ianto Jones, this is my partner Haruka Ten'no, also currently known as Sailor Uranus. Uranus, Ianto Jones."

Ianto smiled at the woman who had asked if he was alright, taking her to be Michiru's Haruka. "I'm alright, thank you." His body was battered from being dragged down the stairs, but he wasn't seriously injured and it wasn't anything he couldn't recover from.

He held out a hand to Haruka. "It's a pleasure. Thank you very much for helping us out of here." He cast a subtle glance at the exit Snape and the other girl had taken.

Before Uranus could even thank Faith for her help, because really, she wouldn't have found Michiru without the Slayer's aid, or reply to Snape's question and offer of thanks, the two had swept out of the ruined building. She turned back to Michiru and Ianto. She managed to catch the bitter comment her lover had made, and shook her head slightly. However rude the pair were, they had at least been helpful.

Haruka took Ianto's hand as he offered it. "Likewise," she said, bowing slightly as she shook his hand. "And you're welcome. I'm sorry you all had to wait so long." She knew Michiru would scold her for the late rescue later. While she wasn't exactly sure how long they'd been held captive, it was at least overnight. Michiru wouldn't have been gone all night otherwise. She followed his gaze toward the exit. "Let's all actually get out of here before that woman in a catsuit returns." She cast a glance at Michiru. "Although, if she's smart, she'll stay far away from either of us, ne?"
