He had been promised by Dahak, but it still was no easy thing to sit quietly outside as the sun rose. It was pretty much impossible that vivid memories of the last time he'd done this not rise in his head. He kept flinching back as the sky lightened, and he wanted more than anything to just go back to the room he shared with Lestat and climb into safety there. He was all alone. Who could he ask to sit with him as he potentially tried to commit suicide again? His skin had lightened quite a bit since he'd last gone into the sun, but it was still just slightly tanned. It didn't hurt much anymore, not after Marcus and the packets of blood the Planet kept Armand equipped with.

The sun rose, and though Armand braced himself for pain, there was none. Long past the point where his body should have began to smoke and burn, and had last time he'd done this, he just sat, waiting for it to hurt. Sitting cross-legged on the grass, the golden light touched his skin. And it didn't burn him, not even for a second. The colors of the sunrise spread through the sky, and Armand looked at them. He couldn't remember the last time he'd really watched a sunrise. And the combination of the sunlight and the vampire's keen senses made it quite an experience indeed.

When it became fully apparent that he wasn't going to be burned, he jumped to his feet. Dahak had kept his word. Armand, well, he would do the same. Anyway, it sounded like a lot of fun. He walked briskly through the early morning air, breathing deeply just for the sheer pleasure of it. He didn't really need to breathe, of course, only to talk, but it felt nice. He stretched his arms up to the sky as it lightened and turned blue. The little wispy clouds delighted him to no end.

Jumping easily onto the roof of the main building, he used it as a vantage point to survey the surroundings. Of course, he needed to find the two he'd been shown, but there was no reason he shouldn't hunt first. No one else really seemed to be up yet, though... wait. There was someone. He smiled to himself as he jumped down and approached him. Swiftly, silently, he stalked up on his intended victim. He didn't yet have any idea it was one of the ones he was to take.

Memories of being mortal, yes, because that's what this alien's blood felt like, wasn't it? Like being mortal once more, and getting drunk off of fine wine. Only that didn't encompass it. There was no way being drunk had ever felt this good. He could feel the boys body relaxing, and finally, the moment he'd been waiting for came. The alien became unconscious.

Quickly, he disengaged. It was a crucial time, if he took too much now, he could kill the alien. It had been close enough with the Ranger Marcus, and Armand had barely cared about him at all. This boy, though, well... it suddenly seemed completely impossible to ever let go of him. It wasn't just because of fear of the Planet's retribution that he didn't want to kill Max. There was far more to it than that.

"What have you done to me, beautiful alien boy?"

It had all been so intense. Not just the physical sensation of the blood, but everything. The memories, the intense process of being bonded to the alien boy... he'd never felt anything like it. As he looked around at the world, there was a new clarity to his sight. Different blood, yes, but it was more than that, really. So much more.

The boy lay on the ground, fairly white, and the monster-vampire actually felt some sort of... feeling... sweep over him as he knelt down. Almost tenderly, he knelt down and took the boy, so young, younger even that Armand had been when he was taken, into his arms. He would kidnap the other girl, as he had promised Dahak, but this one he wasn't about to let out of his sight.

Which meant, Armand supposed, that if Dahak meant for them to die, he'd have to fight him on Max's behalf. There was no doubt of this. He sighed softly, slung the human over his shoulder, and set off. Quietly, he talked to him as he walked.

"You're going to cause me all sorts of trouble, I can see it already."

Of course, Max didn't respond. He was unconscious.
