A call to darkness...
Who: Dahak, Wolverine, and other baddies!
What: The general thread for the gathering. It'll be a bit of a cluster but hopefully this will work!
When: Evening, Day 15
Where: In the forest, outside of the resort
Rating: R, just to be safe
Status: Active

Alone in an alcove in the forest, two men stood. To the casual observer, the pair of them would be as different as one could expect. Dahak, still wore the mask, leaving only black behind it, so that it looked there was no face beneath. The man to his side, however, looked casual, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, looking unshaven, and unruly next to the frightening visage of Dahak. Were the man beside him in his right senses, however, the two would be mortal enemies. In fact, having stumbled upon him, he had attempted to fight his way out of the situation. Unfortunately for the creature, Dahak's magical abilities were impressive, and once he'd laid a hand upon the creature's skull it was simply a matter of casting a spell on him to take over his mind.

Even so, Dahak could feel Wolverine's mind struggling against the spell, in futility. He would know what he did, feel every bit of pain, but as for stopping the spell, it was far beyond his abilities. And unlike a mere mind control spell, Dahak had taken the liberty to leave the cold calculating part of Logan's brain active. Yes, there would be a need to have him retain his ability for strategy, and be able to talk normally when he was hunting his prey. Ironically, all his struggling mind did was fuel Dahak, for it was filled with rage and hatred for being used in this fashion. A pity that one so animalistic would try to align himself with ideals that were so terribly... noble.

"Neel before me, Weapon X" Dahak commanded, and placed his hands upon him. "To you, I bestow the strength of a demi-god. Use it, that you may crush my enemies when they face you. You shall be my enforcer, my right hand in this." Yes, Wolverine would have to be his enforcer, for it was only one that he was in control of that he could actually trust for this task. Dark power flowed from Dahak's hand into Wolverine, and he saw the mutant cry out in agony as the dark power enveloped him. Somewhere Dahak could vaguely sense the silent scream that came from the Kryptonian, buried a few feet in the ground beside him, inside of a coffin with special glyphs upon it that siphoned his power slowly, and more quickly when Dahak used it as he was now...

Behind Dahak, in a sunnier part of the glade, there was a small hole, about the size of someone's arm, enough to let the sunlight shine in and let Dahak's little battery recharge itself. It was a nightmarish cycle of death and rebirth, with the constant hum of agony. It was a sweet symphony to Dahak, and combined with the power that flowed through his kryptonian body, Dahak thought it might be enough, but no... no, now that he had this power, he needed more. To inspire some real strife in this boring mundane little world.

He didn't gesture for Wolverine to rise, instead preferring to have him kneel as the Lizardmen finally came into view. Their scaly visages barely standing out amongst the trees. They were a hunter race, and felt confused at being summoned here, but with a burst forth of dark energy, such simple minds were easil controlled. They were his own to rule, with this new power that he had stolen from the Kryptonian. Dahak turned slowly to stare at them all as one by one they lowered themselves, following the example of Wolverine to kneel before their new master. It was easier to control all of their minds than it was Logans, as there was no fight in them. Almost tailor made to be controlled by the planet.

Dahak considered sending them out this very moment to scour the land, murder all that they could. for all of the planet's cunning, he did not think that it would be smart enough to consider such a thing a violation of the rules here. They were the ones doing the act, after all. But, no, he would not leave that up to chance. Besides, it would be far better to have Generals to inspire chaos here. Let them take the wrath of the planet should something go awry and someone wind up dead. All the better for him. And, in their defiance, suddenly all the others would see them for what they truly were... creatures of darkness. The harmony that so sickeningly resonated throughout the land would be shattered one way or another. Dahak would see to that.

Slowly, the clouds that had been on the horizon now began to swarm and grow faster around Dahak, blackening the skies above him as dark energy crackled like fire across his fingertips, his body glowing with the intensity of it. Slowly a ball of dark power began to form from his hand, growing in intensity with each heartbeat until it raised on it's own like a beacon into the night, floating upward above the treeline. And there it finally exploded in a shockwave that flowed out over the land, a beacon in the night...

All those with darkness in their hearts, who would join his cause or be tempted into it by his promises would feel that pulse, and know where to go, to meet the Lord of Darkness. Those whose hearts were ruled by good, however, would feel a shiver pass over them, or a moment of nausea, as if something that was once right in this place was now truly wrong. And it was in that moment of power that Dahak felt all of the hearts of darkness and goodness across the land. Yes, there were so many to kidnap... it was good the lizardmen had come...

But there was something else... something familiar that tickled his brain about one soul that he felt. Only after a moment did he realize who it was.

"Yesssss...." The Father of Lies purred sweetly. There was one amongst the flock of innocent lambs that he himself would visit, one who would not need to be taught to fear him, one whose body already knew the feeling of his touch. Her soul, though less innocent than when he'd first come across it, was still sweet, a familiar taste... and a chance to corrupt completely what he'd only managed to taint previously. Even better, Ares' champion, the Warrior Princess was with her. The raven haired one once seethed hatred so wonderful it was like a sweet wine... if she thought her companion was in danger, true danger... Dahak knew he would feel that sweet sensation again.

"Gabrielle..." he breathed out into the air, and she alone would feel a forboding like no other... he was truly looking forward to this now.

Felicia, listening to all this, was seriously regretting having come. She had worn her suit, which she believed would at least enable her to defend herself, but there were a lot here including those lizard things for her to be taking on by herself. In any other situation she wouldn't have doubted that Wolverine would have her back, but he wasn't right -- responding to that ridiculous 'weapon x' name like a trained dog. Felicia slid back a few steps as Dahak continued, going on about alters and spells. She wanted to go home, but not so bad that she would trade the lives of the two people he'd shown her to do it. That's typically what alters entailed, right? Some human sacrifice crap, or at the very least harming them -- she didn't want that blood on her hands.

"No. Count me out." She stated. "You have some power and a few lizard servants and think your a god?" Black Cat knew is more more then just some power, even she could feel that, but she'd be damned if she let it show that that intimidated her. She'd overcome worse things, some rouge mutant who fancied himself a god -- he had to have a weakness too.

"Darkness, Satan, Chaos -- if your so powerful what do you need us to go around collecting people for some spell for? The planet too strong for 'Satan' to escape?" Taunting the evil guy, maybe not a great idea, but she figured -- maybe a little common sense, pointing out these things would make the others skeptical. It would be easier to get away if she wasn't the only one against this loon.

Dahak had just turned from giving the Hatter his powers, when he felt it. Even before Felicia said it, he could feel the mutiny in her mind. Oh, how very sad that the call of Darkness had summoned one who was needing some... motivation. Fortunately for her, he could provide plenty of that, if she demanded it of him. He was just hoping for her sake that she would not actually be foolish enough to test him. But then, as the thought crossed his mind, she blurted it out there, causing the cloaked figure to pause, and then calmly and slowly turn around, until he was facing her, the silver mask staring at her plainly, as if somewhat surprised. There was the silence after she had spoken, as if the whole world was stilling to listen to see what Dahak would say to this little girl who had decided that it was an intelligent idea to piss off something that made the gods themselves run.

"I'm sorry you feel that way." Dahak said calmly. The unflinching gaze of the mask settled upon the Black Cat calmly, envoking another moment of silence, to where one might wonder if it was indeed over, and the dark god would let her go off, just like that. He pondered it, truly, after all, he didn't actually NEED her, so much as he wanted her to lead his lizardment to kidnap a particular target. They could handle it themselves, of course... but that wasn't really the point, anymore. The point is what she'd called him, and that in itself was more than enough to justify what was about to happen to her. Those sensitive to dark powers would feel the slow buildup of energy around Dahak, long before he started to glow.

"Even more sorry that you seem to doubt my abilities..." And then his arm thrust outward in her direction, palm flat, and from it a fiery beam of light shot, faster than she could dodge it, slamming her in the chest and causing her to fly until she was pinned against one of the trees. It would feel as if someone was hammering at her rib cage with a sledge hammer. "It would seem, a demonstration is in order." Dahak said darkly, and suddenly the pale flame that was on her chest wrapped around her body, feeling not so much a pressure now, as it did that her skin was on fire beneath, like she was being branded.

With a flick of his wrist then she flew from one tree to another, slamming off of one, and dragging along it until her body whirled and slammed into another. Dahak tossed her body from tree to tree, his arm moving as if he were conducting a grand symphony that no one could hear, and then finall he slammed her into one wall, and forced her arms to stretch outwide, as if she were being crucified. Dahak's silver mask tilted at her then, and though it didn't make any show of it, somehow it was obvious by the tone in his voice he was smiling. "You know, many people seem to think that the grandest show of force is by doing some sort of gesture whereby you slaughter innocents by the thousands... but I've always been of the mindset that thousands of people are a statistic... and the single person... now that's a tragedy. Just like a single bone, for example..."

There was suddenly a sickening crack, and Felicia would feel her little finger on her left hand snap. Dahak didn't do anything to gag her, instead hoping that she screamed like she was in agony. At this point he was sending a message. "I wonder how well a thief would do their job with broken fingers..." he said, and the little finger on her right hand snapped. "Now..." There was a snap of her ring finger. "I wonder..."

"Do.." There was a snap as her left ring finger broke.

"you..." a sickening twist as her right splintered...

"doubt..." Her left middle finger cracked in three places.

"my...." Then her right middle finger.

"powers..." Her left middle finger was bent backwards until it was flush with the back of her hand.

"now..." While her right twisted at odd angles, breaking at the knucles

"little...one?" Both of her thumbs made a loud popping as they were twisted and snapped. And then, and there, he dropped her, letting her land upon the ground, broken, her fingers nothing more than masses of agony. Before she could stop him he grabbed her by the hair and the black flame engulfed her. Unlike the others, this didn't look pleasant, and would feel to her like bees stinging ever inch of flesh on her body as the power invaded her, went into the depths of her mind, weakened with pain, and twisted that which caused her mind to resist, so that evil didn't really seem so very bad anymore. She wanted to be free after all... and sometimes... sometimes it was just survival of the fittest.

As he did that, he infused her with an ability like wolverines, and she would feel as her fingers reknit themselves, bones healing in a matter of moments until her hands were as good as new... but the pain, still remained, even after she'd been converted to follow him without question, she would still remember the horrible pain of defying Dahak. "You will capture my targets, and you will have them on that alter by moonrise. Now go." With Felicia, it was no longer a question.

Turning, he looked at the rest of those present. "Anyone else have any opinions they'd like to share?"

She wasn't afraid of some silly masked being staring at her, no special sensitivity to warn her of what was about to come. In fact, for a long moment, in the silence she almost wasn't sure that he cared what she had to say. The calm comment, and again the silence -- It was weird. She was used to this sort of costumed freak going off on tangents, yelling and screaming about their superiority, trying to make big shows of their power immediately. The rash little villains of her world didn't compare, and maybe the fact that he didn't do any of those things should have been the first indication that she was dealing with much more then a freak in a costume. She flinched when he spoke again, ready to jump out of the way, but finding herself swept off her feet and flying backwards before she'd even realized what happened. The pain shot up the length of her back, almost as bad as the hammering against her chest, forcing all the air from her lungs -- she couldn't have screamed if she had wanted to when the flame wrapped around her form.

Felicia's gaze fell on Wolverine again. She couldn't move, felt like she was being burned alive, and loath as she was to admit it - she was virtually helpless. So she held out on the slightest bit of hope that he would snap out of whatever the hell was wrong with him, but he just stared blankly. The others watched, but with no obvious intention of doing anything more. As for the Hatter, he simply finished looking over his lizards, and strode right on by, casting her a curious glance as he passed.

Next thing she knew she was being tossed from tree to tree, little more then a rag doll. Black Cat took quick, shuddering breaths only to have them knocked out of her a second later. The suit provided some protection, and what it didn't cover - her face and chest - were scratched and bloodied from being dragged across several tree trunks. Not to mention the indescribable feeling of being thrown against the trees repeatedly. It was a feeling she was more then willing to experience quite a few more times once he'd stopped and had her splayed against the wall. She knew that being thrown around was likely nothing compared to what was going to happen next. His tone made that much clear.

She hadn't screamed yet, and had no plans to give him that satisfaction. It was the one thing she still had the ability to refuse Dahak. That had been her plan anyway. The first finger broke. Felicia bit her bottom lip, splitting it in the attempt to remain silent. She had survived a thrashing before, multiple bullet and knife wounds, broken bones, being chucked around a room. She could handle -- a second and third finger -- could not handle this. Every inch of her still ached and burned, and he was not only breaking but twisting the digits out of place one by one.

Dahak's words and the sickening sound of her own fingers breaking were all she could hear. By the time he reached her left middle finger a terrible cry of pain forced its way from her lips. It was all she could do not to crumble and submit as he finally dropped her to the ground. Agony beyond anything she had ever felt, and some how she was still able to shrink back. The blond woman stared up as he neared, eyes red and stinging with tears, and sat on the ground using whatever strength she could muster to scramble away from him. Not that it did her any good.

"No!" Felicia shrieked as he grasped her hair, that god awful flame surrounding her again. "NO! I don't want -- Stop!" Her voice cracked, thrashing against him as her words became little more then just another loud, piercing cry. After a minute though her arms fell to her sides, bones and cuts healing quickly, fingers twisting back into place in a way that was almost just as painful as breaking them had been in the first place. Healing or not, the 'gift' did nothing to make the pain subside. She could still feel each of the broken bones despite the fact that they had already mended.

Black Cat gave a slight nod, shakily rising to her feet at the instruction, and left to do as she had been told. Some part of her raging at the idea of it, furious that she couldn't stop herself, but it was a small part kicked into very back of her mind by the driving desire to find the pair Dahak had shown her. Find them and place the two on the alter provided to her, so as to avoid a repeat of that last performance.
