Day 14!!!
Who: Riddick and Vaako
What: Riddick goes in search of Vaako
When: Afternoon
Where: Library for starters
Rating: PG-13 for language, angst, and Riddick being Riddick?
Status: complete

His lips still burned. He felt something very strongly akin to self hatred and disgust. He had kissed the Elf. He had not meant to. It just happened. He had not been thinking. After Riddick had ran or more like crawled, he found himself in the hills not too far from the beach. He had no strength to go back to his room. he honestly felt weaker than he had before. Legolas.. The Elf had almost touched him which brought more pain than he had felt before. And the kiss. It had caused his heart to almost lurch and in the moment he saw Vaako, not the blond Elf that he could barely stand.

He slept once more. But sometime within the very early hours he found himself back in his room and he didn't bother to shower. He just went to his bed and fell asleep. Again a man who barely needed sleep was craving it now. The pain got less as he was just near Vaako but another type of pain wanted to seep in. When he next awoke, Riddick sat up with a start. His eyes went straight to Vaako's bed and he was gone. The pain hit him almost immediately once more. Somehow almost on autopilot, Riddick crawled from the bed to the shower. He managed to shower, change and get dressed.

In the mirror, Riddick looked at his chest. Vaako's hand... the glow. It was glowing bright and angrily almost against his tanned skin. It was like it beckoning to the match of that print. But there was still so much mystery as to why it was like Vaako had made the print when he had not. Covering his chest with hishsirt, Riddick knew he was going ot look for the Necro he had no choice. And without really knowing how, he knew where Vaako was.

So that is why less than 10 minutes later, Riddick finds himself standing in the corner of the library, in his direct vision even through his goggles he could see Vaako. He was so intense, curled up in a large chair. The only sign of armor was his chest plate. He didn't have his weapons either which had Riddick frowning. Just seeing him had caused the pain to simmer. He didn't move, didn't let the other man know he was there. He had a feeling he would know regardless.

Riddick sighed ready to give up. Until Vaako spoke about finding more. He leaned up after a few minutes and began to read. The rage when turned inward became something completely different. It needed an outlet or it would bring great pain to the one carrying it. Often times when the Rage was turned inward there was only one thing that would cause it to retract.

"The Rage turns inwards and with no outlet it causes great pain to the one carrying it. The prints on each Furyan is the same with the exception of one. The last of his race, a powerful Furyan. The one spoke of in the prophecy. Most times the pain felt by this Furyan can and will only retract when his equal is within range. The print on his chest will almost look as if it was put on by a particular hand. Only the match can force the pain to go. When .." He was reading out loud and with every word he read, Riddick blinked and was feeling dizzy.

He rubbed at his chest, the pain still there but not as bad. He read again this time to himself this was.. this book was full of shit. Often times there was a strong connection. Not forced at all. A connection already there before they knew each other most times. Often times it is another Furyan. But with the last of his kind it could be anyone. Some one who was truly his equal. A unique individual who would take on the glow of the print when his hand was upon it. Someone who could feel the pain, possibly even do things that others could not. Riddick thought back to the fact he was sure a few days back Vaako could see in his eyes and actually see something. Not just the black void others saw. He could also feel Vaako inside of him almost. Growling he pushed back from the table and stood ignoring the pain.

"This is shit. The book is a damn lie." He exclaimed even if he didn't truly fully believe it."

Vaako read along as the Furyan read out loud, and he looked confused through most of it. He was pretty sure there were no Furyan's left, which would make sense, given what the book was talking about. Still, it wasn't something he'd ever really considered before. He'd looked for answers, and gotten them, and wasn't quite sure what to do with them now that he had them.

"Riddick... are you the last Furyan?"

He rose to his feet, and gently rested his hand on the other man's chest, where he knew the glow was even though he couldn't see it through the other man's clothing. His fingers pressed gently over the place, finding it unerringly. He was deep in thought, and it was apparent on his face.

Riddick shivered and calmed immediately when Vaako touched the print. He losed his eyes and spoke almost softly, defeated.

"I am.. or I am now. The Purifier.. he was a Furyan. Dead now." Riddick said softly. His chest heaved though painless. But the touch. THe book had to be a lie.

He frwoned and pulled away quickly and ignore the sudden pain tha thad been worse than ever before. He felt like he would die almost. "It's a ie.. it's a lie." He kept saying it. This.. no it was a lie.

Vaako gasped and stepped backward. The shock on his face, again, wasn't overly stated. But somehow he suspected that, while most would never have noticed, Riddick would. He shook his head.

"No... the Purifier... he was..." He shook his head once more, more frantically. "No! He was tricking me, he was trying to steal my position with the Lord Marshal, he didn't..."

He lowered his head and looked at the floor, his hand falling away from Riddick's chest as the bald man moved away. Such a mistake, but how could he have trusted the other man? He'd been a Necromonger. If only he'd known, perhaps it would have changed things. Then again, perhaps not. Obedience without question, Loyalty until Underverse come...

"If that book is true... well, what does it mean that my hand... that I should be the one who matches..."

He gasped and his eyes widened as he looked at the book, and then to the Furyan. And though he could do what Riddick was doing, pretend that none of this was real, he couldn't. So, he did the next best thing. He turned and ran. In seconds, he was out the door of the library. But he couldn't outrun his thoughts.
