Day Fourteen
Who: Vaako and Aragorn
What: Wandering...
When: Early morning
Where: Just wandering about outside, not in his room or the library for once, shock!
Rating: PG at most
Status: Complete

He'd awoken before dawn from a nightmare that had his pale body quivering. It was the withdrawl. He should have thought of this before. No Necromonger could go this long without being purified. As he shook and sweated with the aftermath of the violent dreams, he wondered if he could survive this process. Also, of course, he wondered what he would come out on the other end looking like. He'd seen this before, even experienced it when he was away from the Lord Marshal for long campaigns. It had never been this bad though. And he'd never heard of anyong surviving the change from Necromonger back into something fully human.

All he could hope, as he rose and dressed himself in the predawn light, was that the Planet would keep him alive. It had brought him here for some reason, right? And it had made a rule about killing, so hopefully it didn't want the people it had brought here to die. Maybe, just maybe, he would be kept alive by the Planet. It seemed a fragile hope to hold onto, but he didn't have anything else.

Riddick was still sleeping, which was odd. He rarely saw the Furyan sleep, and assmumed that he only let himself while Vaako was already asleep. He watched over the other man, wondering if he still felt pain. But Riddick didn't wake up, so he turned back to his clothing chest and pulled out some simple clothes, black and silver, as was becoming his habit. Then, he turned to the armor, and hesitated for a long time. But, surprisingly, he didn't feel like going to the library. Not yet, anyway, though later today he was sure it would come. He didn't know what was out there, not really, but it was hot. His chestplate, he decided as he strapped it on, would have to be enough.

Dressed, he took one more look at the sleeping man, and turned to leave. He did need to make it to the library, he thought. He needed to learn more about the Rage that was hurting Riddick so much. He didn't like it. Maybe books couldn't help, but he had to at least try. Later though. For now, he wanted to watch the sun rise.

The air outside was a bit chilly, but he didn't mind. After all, he was already colder than most humans, because of the Purification process. Cold never bothered him much. Hazel eyes trained onto the sky as it lightened, and he waited. The sun would rise soon. He wasn't really watching where he was going, he just walked, and looked at the sky.

This man was dangerous, Aragorn realized. When he spoke of meeting with Legolas when he thought he had hurt this Riddick. It was dangerous and stopped him from being honest which he didn't like.

"I see.SO did you know him before?" He asked out of curiosity. This sounded interesting. He was getting a vibe from this man. A vibe about this Riddick. And Vaako.

"I'm afraid if you want to know you need to ask your Riddick." he stated simply then frowned. "I assure you Legolas did nothing he was simply trying to help." He said defenseive

He frowned thoughtfully as he looked intently at the man. He had questions, yes, but he was sensing that Aragorn wasn't going to tell him. He narrowed his eyes and pursed his lips as he surveyed the other man. Finally, he spoke.

"Will you not tell me? Are you trying to protect your elf?"

He had sensed something in the way the Ranger said Legolas' name, something that told him everything wasn't all up on the surface. But Vaako respected Aragorn all the more for that. He, also, wasn't a man who liked to just speak about everything to anyone. A habit like that could be dangerous in a Necromonger.

"Well, if you won't tell me, I will ask Riddick. And if Legolas did something, well, there will be time to attend to that then."

He'd been fairly tame since coming to Mirage. Confused, kept off guard, and not sure what to do without the direction of his reluctant Lord Marshal. Now, it was all-too-obvious that he was a fighter on his own world, and a dangerous one, at that.

Aragorn wondered if now would be a god time to end this. he was on the defense, not being able to allow this man to speak of Legolas like this. Legolas had done nothing wrong.

"Nothing to defend. It is not my story to tell but Legolas did nothing wrong."

Just as Vaako was sensing things about him the ranger was doing the same. he could tell there was just something there with Vaako about this Riddick.

"I think you will find it is your Riddick you will be dealing with not Legolas for he did nothing wrong."

He moved, turning around. It was time to go nothing good would come of this."I am afraid it is time for me to take my leave."

"Yes. I have important things to do. None of which involve sitting here speaking with someone who won't tell me anything. So, if you'll excuse me..."

He was annoyed. Not just a little bit. And when he had the time, he was going to talk to Riddick about this. Not that he was the bald Furyan's keeper. But it was part of his job to keep him safe and.... and... It wasn't even convincing him. He sighed, nodded with forced politeness to Aragorn, and walked past him.

He was very much overdue at the library. And he would think about these things, and if he should talk to Riddick about them. Chances were good, he wouldn't. Or maybe he would. But not right away. Or something. His thoughts were pretty much that confused as he walked away from the Ranger.

Aragorn watched Vaako move just as he was. Something inside wanted to stop him though he had no idea why. But he didn't. he also didn't wait for him to leave.

"I don't think you will like the answer."he spoke almost as an after thought. But he gave Vaako no room to stop him.

He brushed past him to leave.he had no clue where he would go but he would figure it out. He thought so anyways.
