Entry tags:complete, day 2, ichinomiya jun, marcus cole, the doctor, tsukasa doumyouji

WHO: Marcus and open to anyone without a thread for Day 2
WHAT: Meeting some fellow inmates inhabitants over breakfast
WHEN: Day 2, morning
WHERE: Restaurant
STATUS: Complete
RATING: PG for now

Marcus awoke in an unfamiliar room. Unlike the day before, the walls were no longer plain white, but were shining grey marble. Elaborate steel fixtures held many candles to light the space, and ornate draperies hung artistically. His bed was firm, but much wider than he'd remembered, and he now slept under a luxurious comforter. Since joining the Rangers, he'd had to sleep in some very spare arrangements. His cell had been small and bare, and on missions he'd even had to sleep on the ground sometimes. He had never slept in luxury like this, and he could have sworn he no longer felt the desire to. Nevertheless, from what Tonks had told him the day before, this was still his own room, now shaped to his subconscious whims. Where the hell had it got this concept?

Sitting up, he swung his legs over onto the floor and was delighted to find that everything he wanted immediately was in easy reach. Marcus slipped into a pair of shoes, and tossed a black tunic over his body. He made his way to the formerly simple bathroom for his usual purposes. Not nearly as astonished as before, he found that the sink was now far larger than could possibly be practical, and the tiny shower had been replaced by an elaborate jacuzzi/waterfall combination. He had to admit, he liked the ferns, but couldn't imagine taking a bath in the mini-pool.

After he emerged from the bathroom, Marcus got himself fully dressed and headed down to the restaurant for breakfast. He'd felt no ill effects from the food he'd eaten yesterday, and was determined to be more adventurous this time. What could he order that they couldn't possibly have? Making his way across the courtyard, Marcus could see that he wasn't the only person with an interest in breakfast. He wondered about his fellow prisoners, and decided to meet more of them. Finding a table with a couple of other people already seated at it, he took a seat.

"Good morning, everyone. Enjoying our breakfasts? My name's Marcus. I only arrived yesterday. How about you?"

Mr.Doumyouji seemed to be completely ignoring him and, at first, that made Jun angry enough to start into another tirade against the man's rudeness...but then he stopped and thought...no, he has taken the higher road and so must I. It is best not to speak to each other if we cannot be civil.

Jun hadn't actually thought about the reasoning behind the Planet's choices in the people it was abducting. When the Doctor asked him if he thought they were being chosen at random, two yhings went through his mind...one, he was extremely flattered that a man such as the Doctor would ask him, a boy, for his opinion and two, why did the Planet choose me? Jun thought deeply on the Doctor's question and furrowed his brow, "Xena is a great warrior where she comes from and John Crichton, I understand, has done remarkable things bringing entire galactic empires together in peace. Ayla, from her stories, seemed to bridge a gap between ancient peoples...oh, and I forgot to mention Giselle, a wonderful young woman who likes nothing better than to sing and make people happy. She can control the very creatures of the forest with her voice. I understand why The Planet would choose these people, Doctor. I also understand why you gentlemen would be chosen. I do not see the logic in choosing a 16 year old boy who goes to school and works in a cafe".

When the men were talking about the spaceship...the Tardis...he remained quiet and listened carefully to each and every word...he was fastenated. He felt like he was in one of the old animes he loved as a little boy.

Marcus felt that this conversation was going really well. The Doctor was right. It paid to be friendly. He was fascinated both with the Doctor's TARDIS and with his question about the Planet's selection criteria. He hadn't thought about that yet. Jun seemed a good young man, polite and friendly. He was probably as fit as any active boy his age. That could be useful in a tight spot. Doumyouji seemed to have given up on them. His exchange with Jun had likely upset him. Still, that was no reason to treat him any worse than anyone else.

"A TARDIS? Never heard of it, but if it does what you say, I think you're right about it being our best chance to escape. You say it's big enough to live in? How many people does it carry?"

Despite his sincere interest in the possibilities offered by the Doctor's ship, Marcus turned his attention to Jun.

"You know, that's a good point, Jun. How does the Planet select its specimens? What fascinating quality to you and I and the Doctor and Mr. Doumyouji here have in common?"

Suddenly a thought struck Marcus and he spun his attention back to the Doctor.

"Doctor, you say your ship can move through space and time, and all the people being brought here are coming from various times and spaces. Is it possible some accident with your ship caused whatever phenomenon is bringing people here?"
