Entry tags:complete, day 2, ichinomiya jun, marcus cole, the doctor, tsukasa doumyouji

WHO: Marcus and open to anyone without a thread for Day 2
WHAT: Meeting some fellow inmates inhabitants over breakfast
WHEN: Day 2, morning
WHERE: Restaurant
STATUS: Complete
RATING: PG for now

Marcus awoke in an unfamiliar room. Unlike the day before, the walls were no longer plain white, but were shining grey marble. Elaborate steel fixtures held many candles to light the space, and ornate draperies hung artistically. His bed was firm, but much wider than he'd remembered, and he now slept under a luxurious comforter. Since joining the Rangers, he'd had to sleep in some very spare arrangements. His cell had been small and bare, and on missions he'd even had to sleep on the ground sometimes. He had never slept in luxury like this, and he could have sworn he no longer felt the desire to. Nevertheless, from what Tonks had told him the day before, this was still his own room, now shaped to his subconscious whims. Where the hell had it got this concept?

Sitting up, he swung his legs over onto the floor and was delighted to find that everything he wanted immediately was in easy reach. Marcus slipped into a pair of shoes, and tossed a black tunic over his body. He made his way to the formerly simple bathroom for his usual purposes. Not nearly as astonished as before, he found that the sink was now far larger than could possibly be practical, and the tiny shower had been replaced by an elaborate jacuzzi/waterfall combination. He had to admit, he liked the ferns, but couldn't imagine taking a bath in the mini-pool.

After he emerged from the bathroom, Marcus got himself fully dressed and headed down to the restaurant for breakfast. He'd felt no ill effects from the food he'd eaten yesterday, and was determined to be more adventurous this time. What could he order that they couldn't possibly have? Making his way across the courtyard, Marcus could see that he wasn't the only person with an interest in breakfast. He wondered about his fellow prisoners, and decided to meet more of them. Finding a table with a couple of other people already seated at it, he took a seat.

"Good morning, everyone. Enjoying our breakfasts? My name's Marcus. I only arrived yesterday. How about you?"

Doumyouji's episode, in Jun's opinion, madehimlook even more spoiled and ridicilous. Once the man had finished and reseated himself, Jun adressed his words, "Had you listened to my words, Mr. Doumyouji, you would have heard me say that your rude behavior is an embarassment in front of foreigners. Not that you are rude to them because they are foreigners or of a different class", he paused as the golem brough his food and placed it before him. "I merely point out that you might try harder to less socially abrasive", he took a long drink of his cold milk, "I also suggest that you not angrily hover over me like that again, please, sir". He softened the warning with a bow of his head and a smile.

Turning to Marcus, as he was cutting his waffles, Jun responded to his question, "AH, a pleasure, Mr. Marcus. There have been others here almost as long, sir. There is a warrior woman from ancient times named Xena; you will recognize her by her height and her armor. A man named John Crichton who was an astronaut that somehow ended up in an alien galaxy living amongst their people was brought here. He is a very nice man...still wears his gun and holster everywhere. There is also a very interesting woman named Ayla, a Cro Magnon", he let his eyes slide over to Doumyouji, "and as far as I know, we all do mind being here...we are just trying to make the best of a bad situation instead of banging our heads against a brick wall".

Jun had listened with interest as the Doctor spokeof his ship,"Is your ship here, Doctor?", he asked with the barely contained excitement of a younger boy, "I would very much like to see it sometime if that would be agreeable with you, sir".

Marcus nodded, listening to each of his fellow diners. He ignored the tiff between Jun and Doumyouji. Either the two of them would work it out or they wouldn't. It didn't seem directly relevant to their chances of getting out of this place. Clearly, he'd been wrong in his assumptions about Jun. The young man had been abducted like the rest of them, and was merely working in the restaurant for something familiar to do. Having been here nine days, he was probably a little more homesick than more recent arrivals.

"Yes, Doctor, I think we're all very interested in your ship. You say you haven't been able to repair it so far. I wonder if I might be of assistance. I have some experience with simple ship repair, mostly fighters and freighters. Perhaps a second pair of eyes would advance your efforts?"

He had no idea, of course, what kind of ship the Doctor had, nor if it operated on the same principles as those he was familiar with, but if it could take off into the air it might offer the best opportunity they had to escape this place. A sentient planet was nothing to sneeze at. The sooner they could leave its atmosphere, the better. It was nice to speak to someone from a culture that was capable of space travel. He would have to seek out this John Crichton fellow.
