He'd had a good time the previous day, greeting the archer Susan and arranging an archery contest for when the weather was better, as well as the fun at the party. Michiru was quite the dancer, and he had decided he was going to track her down later and take her up on her offer of teaching each other various dances. It was a surprise to him, in a way, that he would be willing to teach anything elven to a human, but then, things were changing. As the only elf here on Mirage that he knew of, it was pretty much impossible for him to isolate himself among his people.

Anyway, the way he'd seen the short-lived race had changed, and had in fact been starting to change even before he'd come to this strange place. It had started back at the Council of Elrond, when he'd met two humans who would gradually, over time, change his view of the race of Men. As he'd gone into the dreamlike reverie which took the place of sleep in his people, he thought back to that time, to the brave sacrifice of Boromir, son of the Steward of Gondor. Even more than that, though, the elf had been impressed by the human Ranger who had been destined to lead the people of Gondor.

He'd been at the party until quite late, but he didn't need much rest. He'd had a night full of strange unease, like something was coming, but he didn't know what. It left him feeling out of sorts, and more than a little anxious, though it wasn't clear just what he was exactly worried about, not even to him. When he rose, it was hard to tell what time it was through the wind and rain, but it felt like it was a little lighter, perhaps just after dawn. Quickly, he dressed and readied himself to go out. What he was going to do, he wasn't sure. He was restless, though, and he'd think of something.

He paused outside the door that he knew lead to his friend, and thought for a short time. It was still early, perhaps Aragorn was sleeping. On second thought, though, he'd rarely seen the human sleep past dawn. So he took his chances and rapped softly on the door, knowing that if the human was sleeping, he probably wouldn't hear it, anyway. Then, he waited, to see if his call was answered. As he waited, he thought, trying to figure out just why he was feeling so strange this morning.

He watched, a slightly sad look in his expressive dark eyes, as the human made his way to the door. He sighed, and then forced a smile to his lips. He hoped it was convincing.

The truth was, he didn't know what was going on. What these feelings were that kept coming up between him and his friend. Such odd conversations, such strange emotions. He didn't really know how to deal with it. Aragorn was his friend, nothing else. He was engaged. And human.

With another shake of his blond head, the elf headed over to the door, following the Ranger. He took one more look at the room, a perfect copy of a room one could find in Rivendell, and then stepped out. The door shut behind him and Aragorn firmly.
