Xena had spent the last several days with Gabrielle. And they had been good. Very revealing. But, they hadn't done anything very strenuous, and she needed to work out again. It was late morning, and later than she would normally seek out some physical activity, but it was never too late in her opinion.

She locked the door and decided to go back to the training room she'd found before with all the weapons and dummies and cushioned floor mats. But then she remembered that she was supposed to be training Katara in the use of a bow staff. So, she looked up the girl's room number in the lobby and headed that way, backtracking a little but it didn't matter.

She was dressed in her usual leather armor and copper plating. Her sword was sheathed on her back and her chakram and whip were at her hips. She knocked on the door marked E104 and stood back to wait for her to answer. She didn't even know if she was in her room, but if she wanted to make sure the girl got some training in, this was the first place to look.

"Katara, it's Xena. Do you want to work with the staff some more today?" She called out against the door after she'd knocked.

Xena nodded to the explanation. She'd helped someone in from the storm herself. But it hadn't been just before dawn, so she could understand her earlier weariness. Xena smirked to herself thinking of Sam Anders, the man who'd arrived. He had secrets. And Xena, while she wasn't usually very nosy, wanted to know what they were. Especially if they were dangerous secrets.

"Good. Staying busy is good." She smiled slightly as they entered the training room and looked around. It looked the same as it had before, but things were rearranged and missing or there were new additions. She wondered if it shifted to adjust to different needs. Xena removed her scabbard and leaned it against the wall. She also removed her chakram and whip, setting them on the ground near her sword. She could fight with them on, but they swung annoyingly if she wasn't using them.

She felt a little naked without her weapons, but as soon as she picked up a staff, mirroring Katara's actions, she felt better. She watched as Katara placed her hands on the staff in the positions Xena had taught her to and nodded in appreciation. "I think we will at least refresh on defensive moves, and maybe we'll see if you can block some attacks."

"Alright, show me what you learned last time." She stood with her hand on the staff, leaning on it slightly as she watched Katara go through the motions she'd been taught a few days prior.
