-Who: Ianto and Jack!
-What: Ianto finally finds Jack
-When: Afternoon-ish
-Where: The hallway in front of Ianto and Jack's rooms; Ianto's room
-Status: Complete
-Rating: R

Ianto let out a refreshing sigh. So far, things didn't look so horrible. His room was actually quite lovely. He had his own bathroom and a closet full of clothes, mostly suits. After taking a warm shower, Ianto had slipped into a red shirt and dark suit, completely his outfit with a matching red and black tie. He wasn't at work at the moment but the suits gave him a sense of comfort and protection. He was in a strange place and truth be told, deep down he was nervous.

His room was a replica of his bedroom at home. It helped to soothe his nerves a little but he knew he couldn't stay cooped up forever. Ianto had to find a way back home. He was worried about Gwen. She was probably panicking since he more or less vanished. Also, he wanted to be there when Jack came back home, because Jack would come back home, he would.

He decided to explore a bit, see if he couldn't find some answers to his many questions. Resting one hand on the doorknob, he straightened his tie with the other and opened the door. One hand slipped into his pocket, grasping his stopwatch that was still ticking away how long Jack had been gone. It probably wasn't accurate anymore but Ianto didn't bother to stop it.

Ianto set off down the hallway, taking five steps forward, then froze. His face paled slightly in shock and his heart started to beat faster. Someone was walking just ahead, their back towards him. Someone wearing an RAF greatcoat. Was it possible? Well, Ianto worked for Torchwood. With Torchwood, anything was possible.

His voice almost didn't work for a moment as he only managed to make a sort of pathetic squeaking sound. The person was walking away. Ianto took one desperate forward and found his voice.

"JACK!"

Damnit, why did Jack always make it hard to be angry at him? Damn him and his bloody idiotic words but they were working. He took a step back and pulled away from Jack, flustered for a moment. "You left to go find the Doctor again. The Daleks were coming but I didn't tell you because you were going to find the Doctor. Thanks, by the way, for taking the only gun we have that works against Daleks," Ianto said dryly.

Then something clicked in his eidetic memory. "Wait... That happened a few weeks ago, after we were helping with the recovery projects." He searched Jack's face in puzzlement. "Is that the last thing you remember? You don't remember the Daleks at all?"

Jack's frown deepened when Ianto pulled away from him again. Ianto only did that when he was genuinely irritated with him and other than the dying thing, he couldn't imagine what he'd done wrong this time. He paled and fear flashed over his face when Ianto mentioned Daleks. He hated those damn things; watching a whole group of people get systematically exterminated then being exterminated himself was bound to have its effects.

"Of course that's the last thing I remember. I wouldn't lie about that," he said a little tersely. "What the hell is this about Daleks? They were coming? To the Hub? And you didn't tell me?"

Fear flashed over his face again but this time it was for Ianto and Gwen. "There were Daleks coming and you didn't tell me and you let me leave with the only damn gun in the armoury that works against them? What the hell did you do that for?" He grabbed Ianto's arms and gave him a small shake before pulling him into a tight embrace. He had no idea when the hell this was happening but he was used to adjusting for time.

"Yes, the Doctor is important to me," he said with frustration, trying to find the way to explain it. "He's half the reason I'm the man I am today. Rose is the other half. But you're the one I want. I came back for you. Not Gwen, not the team, you. I'll always come back to you but you don't get to sacrifice yourself for him or for me in the meantime."

Ianto was speechless for a moment, he was so stunned. Jack really didn't remember anything past that point and also the fear Ianto had seen on his face unnerved him. He hardly remembered a time he'd seen Jack look like that.

Then his words sunk in. Ianto let out a shuddering sigh, closing his eyes and hugging Jack back. Things would be okay. Jack hadn't left him; he'd gotten mixed up in this... this... planet situation but now Ianto was here too and it would be okay because he was with Jack.

"It's... complicated," Ianto explained, still holding Jack close. "The Daleks moved Earth out of orbit somehow; I'm not exactly sure yet... No one could get a hold of the Doctor. Harriet Jones, the former prime minister, set up a system sort of like the computer at the Hub... It was able to find those that might be able to find the Doctor. We boosted the signal using the Rift manipulator to get a call out to the Doctor. He received it but Harriet Jones gave her life doing so. She transferred control over to Torchwood before she died. I only told Gwen because you had to find the Doctor. He was the only one who stood a chance at stopping the Daleks. I couldn't tell you because then you'd have stayed and I didn't say anything about the gun because it would have caused suspicion."

Ianto let out a humorless laugh. "I thought I was going to die... and god, I was terrified but I knew you'd find the Doctor and set things right, so it didn't matter. You could stay with him so you wouldn't be lonely," Ianto said, saying outloud all the things he had thought while the Dalek had been making its way into the Hub. Ianto's experience at Canary Wharf had only heightened his fear. "I'd have gone down fighting but Tosh, always so brilliant, had perfected the time bubble defense system before she died... It saved us. The Earth was saved and you and the Doctor brought it back to where it belonged... I was waiting for you to come back. That's the last thing that happened before I came here."

Jack's arms tightened around Ianto as he listened to the explanation. When Ianto got to the part about Tosh's defence system, he closed his eyes and offered a few silent words of fervent thanks to her. He hadn't known that she had been that far along in the development but he was eternally grateful that she had been.

He buried has face in Ianto's neck. "I would have stayed. If I'd known I would have stayed." He knew that Ianto was going to die. Sooner or later... and quite possibly sooner given that he worked for Torchwood. He tried not to think about it too much. Not about Ianto dying or about what life would be like afterwards.

"If you'd..." He swallowed hard and raised his head, resting one hand against the side of Ianto's face. "If you'd died, staying with the Doctor wouldn't have made me feel less lonely. Guess I owe Tosh more than I thought."

It suddenly occurred to him that he now had something else that he couldn't tell the Doctor about when he finally ran into him. Unless he took the theory that they wouldn't remember anything when (if?) they finally escaped.

He frowned slightly. "Was Rose there? Or was it the right Doctor from the right timeline?" He realised that that question might confuse Ianto. "The Doctor here is from... a slightly different point in our timelines. Rose is still with him."

Ianto leaned forward to kiss him softly. "And if you'd have stayed, then a lot of other people would probably be dead right now, not just Gwen and I."

He felt a rush of pleasure when Jack said he'd still be lonely if Ianto was dead, even if he had the Doctor. He felt... important. It made him smile softly.

"Rose? Yes, she was there. I'm not sure how, but I saw her on the monitor with the Doctor," he admitted. "It was the same Doctor I saw at Canary Wharf and he knew you and you knew him so I would assume so."

Ianto paused for a moment before speaking carefully. "Do you want to come into my room? You said you've been here for awhile. I don't know how good the coffee is here but I have a little coffee maker in my room. I could make you some," he offered, hoping Jack would accept it. He felt a little awkward standing in the middle of a hallway, being so close to Jack, but he didn't want to let go of him.

Jack leaned into the kiss and tried not to think about what Ianto had said. He always hated situations like that. Before he'd met the Doctor, he'd have had no hesitation in staying, in doing what he wanted. But the man he'd become because of the Doctor would have gone and he'd admit to himself, if not to Ianto, that he probably would have gone even if he'd known about the Dalek.

He smiled and chuckled. "Good old Rose," he said softly. "Should have known she'd find a way to get back. She loves him, you know. The Doctor. And he loves her. Neither of them will admit it to each other. They're very sweet together." He laughed as he remembered the first time he met them. "They got so wrapped up in each other once, they didn't even notice when I'd teleported them. I think that was also the only time the Doctor was ever jealous of me." He grinned at Ianto. "I kept flirting with Rose and she kept flirting right back at me."

His face lit up when Ianto offered coffee. "I'd do anything for a cup of your coffee," he said with just the right amount of innuendo. "The coffee they serve here is good but it's not yours." He pulled Ianto close and kissed him once more then smacked him on the arse lightly. "Take me to your coffee."

"I... see," Ianto said carefully, thinking about that. Well, if the Doctor loved someone else then hopefully he wouldn't need Jack around him and - Ianto pushed the thought away. Being jealous was stupid. Jack had just practically told him that he loved him. There was no reason to be. "You know, you've never really told me many stories about the Doctor or Rose. I'd like to hear them... when you want." The 'later' went unspoken.

Ianto bowed his head towards Jack, a slight smile twitching on his face. "Well then. This way, sir." He swept his arm towards his room. He went back to the door and held it open for Jack. "It's not that different from my bedroom at home, I'm afraid."

"You can meet them if you like," he said, hearing the unspoken 'later' and agreeing with it wholeheartedly. "But later... once the the Doctor calms down. It's always a bit annoying when he's still in the insulting mood." He paused and remembered what the Doctor was like when they first met Professor Yana. "Actually this new regeneration's a bit tactless. And cheeky."

He smiled at Ianto and walked into his room. It was very much like Iantos bedroom at home, which was definitely not a bad thing in Jack's eyes, and he shook his head slightly. "Yeah, mine looks like my room in the TARDIS. It's not quite the same but it's close. It's got all the right things in there but it doesn't feel the same." He turned and looked at Ianto. "I was back in there, talking to Rose." His smile became a little strange, part happy remembrance, part bitter. "It was strange in some ways. I was... different the last time I was in that room." He sighed and shook away those thoughts, giving Ianto a wry grin. "It is better than my quarters at the Hub though."

"Alright," Ianto agreed. Half of him didn't want to met the Doctor but the other half did... Mostly because he was curious about him and also because the Doctor was someone important to Jack.

"Hmm," was all Ianto gave in reply as he made his way over to the little coffeemaker. His brain started to over analyze things. It seemed these rooms turned into the place they thought of as home... Did that mean Jack felt most at home in the TARDIS? Ianto pushed his thoughts to the side, listening to Jack, and snorted. "Of course. Anything is better than your quarters at the Hub, sir," he said teasingly, already making the coffee.

Jack saw Ianto's hesitation about meeting the Doctor but let it go. He suspected it might have something to do with Torchwood One's fanatical hatred of the Doctor. Ianto had worked there after all, he was bound to pick up a few bad habits. He'd feel differently after he met the Doctor. Jack was sure of that.

Jack smiled wryly as he leaned against the wall. "I don't need much. A bed to sleep in, some place to store my clothes, a bathroom... you." He grinned a little lasciviously then sobered. "The Hub has always been a place to live, not a home. The last place I ever considered 'home' was the TARDIS. I think it had a lot to do with what happened to me with them. The Hub was always just some place I was staying while I waited for the Doctor." His expression became thoughtful. "Not sure where I'd call home now. Maybe the TARDIS but not really. That part of my life is over, I think." He gave Ianto a slightly awkward look, one a bit like the one he'd been wearing when he asked the younger man out after his return. "I think maybe home is starting to be wherever you are."

There is was, out on the table, and he had to admit that saying that scared him jut a little. But he'd come to the tentative conclusion here that he was tired of not being certan of where he stood with Ianto, especially when he seemed to go missing on the other man on a semi-regular basis. He wanted Ianto to know that he'd always come back.

Ianto was amazed at how Jack could make him want to punch him one second and kiss him the next with the way he kept on speaking. One second, Ianto was thinking bitterly if the TARDIS was Jack's 'home' then why didn't he just go back there and stay there? But then soon after that, he felt so touched by Jack saying home was where he was that he had to pause and set the coffee down for a moment so he could turn and look at Jack curiously, just to make sure he hadn't imagined it.

Ianto watched him for a quiet moment before turning back to the coffee making. "You know..." he said softly, starting to feel a bit nervous at what he was about to say. "When I thought... when I thought I was going to die, I thought of all the things I had wanted to do before I did, all the things I would never be able to." He was quiet for another long moment, unsure if he should continue or not. Well, Jack had just practically said home was where he was... If he didn't want to, he would say no, and Ianto would deal with it. He was sure (99.999 percent sure) that Jack wouldn't push him away because of a simple question.

He took in a breath. "I thought to myself, 'I wish I had asked Jack to move into mine. He needs a proper place to live besides the Hub.'" Ianto didn't dare look up, glad that he had the coffee as an excuse to keep him busy.

Jack wondered for a moment why Ianto had given him that look but before he could ask, Ianto started talking. Jack shuddered at the thought of Ianto dying. He knew it was happen and given that Ianto worked for Torchwood, probably sooner rather that later, but he still wasn’t eager to have it happen any time soon. If he had his way, Ianto would grow old and die peacefully in his bed so that they could have as many years together as possible before he was alone again. Wishful thinking perhaps.

He listened as Ianto spoke and a slow, genuine smile grew on his face. Ianto wanted him to move in with him. It wasn’t something he’d felt he could ask, mostly because he hadn’t been entirely sure how Ianto viewed their relationship.

He walked over behind Ianto and wrapped his arms around the younger man’s waist, dropping a kiss on the back of his neck. “I’d love to,” he murmured, licking a line up the back of Ianto’s neck then kissing his way back down to the collar of his suit. He paused as something occurred to him. “Why wait until we get back?” he suggested as he licked and nibbled on the rim of Ianto’s ear. “You could always move into my room here. Or I could move into yours. Whichever.” He nipped at Ianto’s earlobe. “You know the resort actually managed to provide all the stuff I had in my room in TARDIS before I got left behind? I could show you my RAF uniform. The proper one from the Forties that goes with my coat.”

"You," Ianto murmured, enunciating the first word, "are distracting me." Even as he spoke, however, he was already closing his eyes and leaning back against Jack for a moment, soaking up his warmth. He bit down on his lower lip to keep himself from making a sound. It was a distraction he didn't mind in the least, now that he knew Jack's answer. He allowed himself to simply feel, safe and content in Jack's arms, before he forced his eyes open to finish the coffee, setting two mugs full of the warm liquid down on the little table the coffee maker was on.

"There. Now that that's done..." Ianto turned around so he was facing Jack and reached out to grasp onto his coat, anchoring himself. "You seem to like your room very much... I don't mind moving there. We'll compromise," he suggested. "Here, I stay in your room and when we get back, you stay at my home." If we ever do get back went unspoken.

Ianto took a step closer, a teasing grin slowly growing on his face as he brought a hand up to rest it lightly on the back of Jack's neck. "If you do show me this uniform, do I get to have the pleasure of getting you out of it?" he asked as he leaned forward, first to kiss him, slow and deep, then to capture Jack's lower lip between his own, sucking on it lightly.

Jack chuckled. He didn’t take Ianto’s complaint too seriously... at all seriously for that matter. If Ianto was annoyed with him, he’d know and Ianto certainly wouldn’t relaxing back into his arms. He smiled when Ianto finally finished and turned around.

“Sounds like a good compromise to me,” he said, tightening his grip and pulling Ianto tight against him, sliding one hand down over his arse. “At least here the door locks properly. You couldn’t lock any door in the TARDIS against the Doctor. Can’t tell how many times the Doctor burst in on me at an... inopportune moment.”

He grinned wickedly, remembering the way the Doctor had blinked then blushed and hurried out again. You’d have thought the Doctor would learn after the first couple of times but when he got excited, he got kind of oblivious to everything else.

“Absolutely,” he said in a low purr. “In fact I insist.” He grinned again. “Though I have to tell you, I look damn good in that uniform.” He slid one hand inside Ianto’s jacket. He leaned forward until his lips were almost touching Ianto’s. “Look better out of it.” He closed the gap and kissed Ianto.

Ianto raised an eyebrow. "I assume I don't want to know about these... inopportune moments. But yes, a locked door would be very much appreciated. I was mortified when Gwen walked in on us that one time in the hothouse," Ianto admitted, unable to hide the slightly embarrassed blush from creeping up his cheeks.

Ianto kissed Jack back, a plan growing in his head. Now that Jack was in his room, he wasn't going to let him leave it so easily... He disentangled himself from the captain and took a step back. "Well. The uniform will have to wait seeing as we're not in your room at the moment. Here." He turned and picked up a mug then handed it to Jack. "You wanted coffee and my coffee is not to be wasted or drunk cold."

He picked up his own mug and took a sip of the warm drink before he set it down again, turning to Jack. "So. What have things been like here? No aliens to chase down? What do you do all day?" As Ianto spoke, he grasped the ends of his suit jacket to start to pull it off. Moving over to the closet, he slowly rolled his shoulders so that it slide off smoothly. Taking a hanger from the closet, he carefully hung it back up then reached down to undo his waistcoat buttons. "Feel free to get comfortable," he offered in a casual tone, keeping his face impassive even thought he felt like smirking on the inside. Hopefully Jack would catch on...

"Regrettably I was alone," Jack said with a grin. "The Doctor was always a little strange about me having sex in the TARDIS. I think he thought I was going to corrupt the TARDIS or something." His grin widened at Ianto's blush. He loved to watch his lover blush. It made him look gorgeous. "Not as mortified as she was." He hadn't been embarrassed, of course, just irritated at being interrupted.

"Hey," he said in mild protest when Ianto disentangled himself and handed him the coffee mug. He'd almost forgotten about the coffee. He sipped at it almost automatically and closed his eyes in sheer bliss. "Mmm," he said with a satisfied moan. "Perfect as always, Ianto. God, I've missed your coffee."

He opened his eyes when Ianto started asking questions and his eyebrows went up when he saw what the younger man was doing. A slow, appreciative grin grew on his face. He'd thought he was going to have to work harder for this. "Kind of boring actually. No aliens that I've seen though there are some strange people here," he said absently as he watched intently as Ianto took his jacket off and start working on his waistcoat. "I mostly look for a way out of here though there was the day the resort made me cook and there was another day..." He broke off and shook his head as he remembered the day with Tyler. That had been odd. "Well, nevermind. It was just odd."

He finally broke and drained a good half of the coffee in his mug before putting it down and shouldering out of his overcoat. He tossed it over the back of the nearest chair then strode over to Ianto, batting his hands away from the buttons on his waistcoat. "Let me?" he asked, looking into Ianto's eyes. It had been too long, at least for him, since he'd been with Ianto.

Ianto pressed down the tiny bit of jealousy that welled up in him at that. So what, Jack had slept with other people in the past. Being Ianto, he automatically started making a list of pros and cons, analyzing the situation. Con: Jack had slept with other people. Pro: Jack had slept with other people and therefore knew MANY amazing things about what to do to make sex very interesting. And besides, Ianto told himself firmly, that was in the past. This was now and Jack had made it clear he wanted him and only him.

His thoughts shattered when Jack let out a moan that went straight down into Ianto's trousers. He glanced at Jack, catching the last of what he was saying. He smiled. "Of course. Nothing but the best for you, sir," he said, speaking in his teasing Ianto-the-Butler tone.

Ianto knew exactly what he wanted. He'd almost died, the world had almost been destroyed/taken over completely by Daleks, who still freaked him out because of Canary Wharf, and he thought that Jack would go off with the Doctor. Now that he knew different, well... What Jack had said plus the situation he'd recently came from only fueled his body further.

Ianto paused working on his buttons as he lifted his head to stare at Jack in slight incredulousness. "You cook?" His gaze turned curious. "Do you actually cook and I just never knew or did they make you?" He raised an eyebrow slightly as Jack went on but let it go. Ianto never pressed anything with Jack. He'd ask the odd question here and there, but he knew if Jack wanted to tell him something, he would. Ianto'd rather have Jack open himself up because he wanted to then force himself in.

Ianto's eyes followed the greatcoat as Jack placed it on the back of a chair, then slid back to Jack's face as he came over to him. He dropped his hands to rest them lightly on Jack's hips, looking right back into Jack's eyes. "Please," he said softly, not even sure if he was answering or asking a different question with that one word.

Jack pretended to look hurt. "Hey, I can cook," he said with amusement then he laughed. "I've lived alone a lot. Of course I can cook. I just find it... boring to be honest so I'm not good at paying attention and that's when things start getting burned and destroyed." He arched an eyebrow at Ianto. "Want me to cook for you when we get back?" He frowned momentarily then shrugged. "They made us actually. It was... very strange. Some sort of bonding activity or something I'd imagine. Not that any of us who ended up in the kitchen was overly thrilled. Or overly skilled for that matter."

Jack's smile bacame rather sensual when Ianto gave his permission and he slowly started sliding the buttons on Ianto's waistcoat out of their holes. "Eight days," he murmured, leanign forward to steal a kiss. "I've been here eight days without you." He kissed Ianto again. "Knew you'd hate it that I'd disappeared again but I couldn't find a way back." He leaned forward for a third kiss, keeping them light and teasing. "Even the Doctor can't get out of here and that's not good."

Not that he sounded like he cared. He did but just not right now. He undid the last button on the waistcoat then with a sudden wicked grin, he circled around Ianto so that he could slide it down his lover's arms. He then folded it and draped it neatly on top of his coat. That was about as far as his patience would take him though. He stepped up behind Ianto and wrapped his arms around the younger man. He began slowly undoing the buttons on his shirt as he nipped and kissed the back of his neck.

"Now that I have to see," Ianto insisted with amusement. "I'll decide if it's eatable or not." He raised an eyebrow. "Bonding activity? Who made you?"

Wondering who 'they' was quickly went flying out the window, though, as Jack started to undress him. He watched with approval as Jack folded the waistcoat up. He hated just dropping his clothes on the floor. Everything had a place for Ianto. "I've only been without you for a few hours but it was more than enough," Ianto admitted. "I'm... glad to know you wouldn't give up trying to find a way to get back," he said carefully, not wanting to seem too... clingy to Jack by saying his true thoughts since he wasn't sure he was entirely right.

If he didn't tell Jack, Jack couldn't deny it and Ianto could just happily believe it all he wanted, that Jack would never stop looking for a way to get back to him. He'd tried to find Gray but hadn't been successful... Gray had been his brother. Ianto was only his lover, not family. How long would it have been before Jack had given up trying to find a way back to him had he not been taken here himself? Ianto didn't want to believe that he would so he simply didn't.

Almost instantly, Ianto felt a pang of guilt. After all the things Jack had just told him, why should he doubt him? He was wrong to. Jack had said even the Doctor couldn't escape. Even though Ianto wanted to ask Jack about it, he didn't and just accepted it. Jack opened up to him, he didn't pry into Jack's past. That was the way it was.

Ianto reached up with a hand, tangling it lightly into Jack's hair, anchoring himself once again as if he was almost afraid Jack would just disappear into thin air if he moved away from him. He let out a soft sigh, closing his eyes as he focused only on Jack, his hands, and his lips tingling against his skin... They were alright. Together, they were alright.
